Elevens Bar & Grill in Cardiff

Came here with 4 friends who were visiting cardiff and they were all drinking in a round via the app. I had the car and didn't want to go to expence of entering into a very expensive round ( it's expensive in here). I said to my friends that I'll get my own and came downstairs to get a drink from the bar. There were two bar staff standing around doing nothing so I politely asked for a drink with the aim of paying with my card. I was flatly refused saying I had to order via the app. I don't take my phone on a Saturday nights as I may lose it so couldn'tdo that. So. The member of staff with purple hair refused a sale. As they were doing not much at the time, it would have hardly killed them to serve me a drink from the bar. Gareth Bale you have a really bad policy that excludes your customers and the girl that refused me a drink, didn't care less or offered any kind of apology. I can't see this bar staying open for much longer either. It's not a sports bar as it offered one channel of sport on all screens. There's zero atmosphere in here and its dark, gloomy and full of blokes. The bar had emptied out by 9pm on a Saturday night and I can totally see why. Won't be back. Dempseys was so much better and had heart and soul and live music upstairs to boot. 0 out of 10 Ellevens.

Food and drinks were great however very difficult to order and pay if you don’t do it via their app on each table as one of my party found out

The burgers and loaded fries were really good,but the pizzas were below par.

Very mediocre place, staff were not helpful at all and just said check the online menu, thanks I just did that and that’s why I’m asking you a question! Stopped serving us 1.5 hours before close because not enough people were there, it’s almost as if they didn’t want our money

Jumbo is full from burger, great burger and great beer with brilliant company, can’t wait to be back again With the lads for more beers and food

Fab bar to go to for all sports lover

Brilliant atmosphere and great pub for sport but why oh why make people download an app to just buy a drink. Too much effort for the outcome

This is a solid sports themed bar & grill. Table service is nice and quick, even when the venue is completely full. Food was much better than expected, all the dishes we ordered were great to eat while watching football. Ordering via the QR code was seamless. The only negative was the volume of the venue when full, as it was so loud, it was hard to talk.

A grown up Bar with good food, safe, good music and happy staff.

Great place to watch football, rugby and F1. The drinks are reasonably priced as is the food. Only find it weird all the ordering needs to be done via app when there a bar upstairs and down

We took our son for his 10th birthday and a member of staff called Ryan has created a moment that my son will never forget. Ryan was brilliant with everything but what he did for my boy goes above and beyond. Coming to the table with a Gareth Bale signed photo to give him left him emotionally broken with joy. Ryan, we will never forget what you did for our son on his birthday. Bale is Tyler's hero and the only way it could have been any better would be to meet the man himself. We have spent loads on presents for his birthday but this moment from Ryan is priceless. Thank you so much.

Great venue, great food and drink, definately give it a go if your in Cardiff. You won't be disappointed.

Preferred Dempsey's. Food was quite nice but everything is overpriced.

Turned up so many times only to be turned away because we haven't booked a table. Then forced to order by the app - whilst the bar is dead, then pay an admin fee for the pleasure. Fantastic! Have a word Gaz.

Massive sport fan, popped in here as it opened for lunch. Staff were fun and friendly. Service was speedy, food selection was good and tasty when it arrived after a short time. Wondered around the place and got to see some great prices of sports memorabilia. Tried the specialist beer and ale, really nice and light. Real enjoyable few hours and a good atmosphere, next time in Cardiff will be coming back!

I personally am not a sports fan, but anywhere you sit you'll get a good view of whatever games on, staff are happy enough to change it over

Really comfortable place to watch live sport with a beer. The aircon upstairs was appreciated on a humid day. Friendly and helpful staff and the signed shirts were impressive. Will return

Had a really good meal and best pint of Guinness I've had in ages.

Always a great place to go, even better when there is a football match on, expecially a wales game.

Tables booked for my nephews 21st birthday .. lovely atmosphere food was delicious .. service was ok, but this is no reflection on the staff but there should have been more the young boys that served us were rushed off their feet and the one in particular seemed a bit stressed .. the app to order food/drinks should be looked at because they didn't seem to know who was ordering what when they were bringing it to our table but apart from that it was generally a really good day and would definitely return

Was a bit apprehensive to come with my girlfriend and her friend but the service was great, food was amazing and definitely good value for money. Would definitely return.

What an outstanding place. Just popped in with the family for a quick drink. Barman such a nice helpful fella we added food as well. Couldn’t have been more helpful. Food was great. Bowl of water for dogs. Highly recommend to anyone passing.

Nice pub / sports bar with a lunch special for a good price.

Took my son to Elevens for his Birthday as he is a lover of sport and Gareth Bale. The staff are really friendly, let us take our son upstairs to see all of the memorabilia. Food was well priced and service was excellent. Great time had by all of us. Looking forward to returning soon. Big thank you to the lovely blonde lady that served us :-) 18-7-23 6pm

Listed on Google as a Celtic supporter bar IT IS NOT THERE'S NOT EVEN A CELTIC STRIP BUT THERES A RANGERS 1. ONWER is Welshmen Garth bale 1 staff member was polite and the other day two where diffanently terrible. Was asked to leave because I had a Celtic strip on. Disgusting DO NOT GO the glasses where dirty and the beer was subpar at best

Really brilliant bar. The staff were really friendly and attentive and the food was freshly made to order very nice. The drinks were cold and very refreshing, all around a great experience. The decorations are also brilliant for anyone interested in a range of sports as the shirts displayed are all very interesting.

Only went for a few drinks before a concert at the castle. Staff were more than helpful (especially the doorman). Great atmosphere considering the football was on.

Went here to watch football and had food and drinks. The food was lovely and reasonably priced but the drinks were a terrible price a non alcoholic Guinness in a can was £5.60 and a pint of Stella was £6.40. Not sure if the prices are like this all the time or just increased due to trying to make money out of a big group.

Service quick, like the QR code ordering. Lovely staff. Food was run-of-the-mill. Good location for Principality and Castle events.

It's fine here, great for sport, but having had such a fondness for Dempseys (it's prior incarnation) it's hard for me to enjoy. I'm like one of those old blokes off of First Dates who's true love has died, so they're now there with a perfectly acceptable alternative, but you can never replace what you had before. Even if it did have a funny smell.

Watched the Europa Conference league here. Full up with West ham fans. What a great night.

The food and the atmosphere is great , the app didnt work it took 20 mins(after going to bar to check inbetween and told use WiFi and keep trying ) and In the end had to go to the bar , where I was originally told , if you don't have a phone you can't get served , in fairness they did serve with card , but I think the qr code order thing is business limiting.

Elevens ligger mitt emot slottet i Cardiff. Fotbollsstjärnan Gareth Bale, som spelat för Real Madrid o i Wales landslag, äger Puben. Jag åt "Bale Ale BBQ PulledPork Burger" och drack en Bale Lager. Både hamburgaren och ölen var goda. Det är en stor Pub med en massa bilder på Bale. Servicen var bra!

Tremendo ambiente del pub inglés Elevens. Buenísimo como cada día se llena de gente a tomarse 1 copa y disfrutar de los programas televisivos que emiten. La comida es la clásica que sirven en los pubs: burgers, nachos, patatas etc... pero da gusto comerselo en un lugar tan ambientado.

Always enjoyed going to Elevens bar but their new policy of only being able to order via the app is ridiculous. The cherry on top is that you are then charged an administration fee for the bad service. Won't be recommending or going again unless this changes.

Shocking idea of using the qr code to access an ordering menu. After 30 mins of attempting to log into the system.we gave up. Asked a member of bar staff if there were any issues using their system to be told there wasn't. This member of staff was completely devoid of any interest in the issues we were having. Luckily for us another member of staff saw sense and let us order the old fashioned way by asking a bartender for 2 pinta and 2 cokes. Not the greatest experience I have had and won't be rushing back anytime soon.

Great food and atmosphere. Shame you can only order on the app and then charged an admistration fee.

Went to watch a footy game here, plenty of large screens through out, all drinks and food ordered from app at table, food was really good and there is lots of great sporting memorabilia on the walls. Nice to see Gareth Bale a local Cardiff lad investing and creating jobs etc for his home City.

Overall good pub grub 3.75/5 good experience and service, Blue cheese wings looked questionable.... Burgers good. The Sweetcorn/mayo/coleslaw side was a little un unnecessary and looked unappealing Korean wings banging! would go again.

Been wanting to come for a visit for a while. My daughter is football and sports mad , and a massive Gareth Bale fan her absolute idol, so as a half term treat we decided to come for lunch , staff was super friendly nice atmosphere and really good food loved all the sports memorabilia child was super happy made her day I think it's safe to say we will definitely be back 😀!!

Once met big man Gazza in this pub. Queue for three hours. Lovely man and got a signed short from the goat Welsh baller. He radiated goat energy. Really big guy and looks like he is partial to a scrap. The greatest of all time.

Rip off Admin charge ! The bar it self was nice and staff work hard but Considering the current climate not even small struggling businesses are forcing extra charges and using an app rather than at bar service , very disappointing, not the cheapest place to drink and ok not the dearest either but it’s not like the admin charge is then given to the staff. I would have expected better from a Bale bar to be honest.

Great food - particularly enjoyed the goat pizza on gluten free base and my favourite gluten free peroni

Great place to have a drink and watch sport

Came here with friends on New Year’s Eve. I thought the ordering system online was great and very easy to use. Food and service also great. I certainly recommend.

Called in for a lunch on Monday afternoon with my wife. The QR code required for the menu has invalid characters, likely trying to execute code; so my scanner app gave 'unsupported' message. My wife asked staff for a hardcopy menu instead, but a staff member came over and snatchd the phone from my hand. He proceeded to turn on connection preferences that I choose to have disabled for security (such as NFC). He tried to connect my phone to their WiFi but failed. Handing my phone back, he told me that I have to use Chrome on their WiFi to order, then walked off. I connected to the WiFi and used their site via Chrome. Completing the order I attempted to pay using PayPal; this looped repeatedly, either an attempt to make me give credit card information, or a poorly coded application, possibly wanting permissions that I won't allow to random internet apps. Too much hassle, so we took our custom to where it was welcome. Fix your staff's attitude, don't snatch people's phones and I suggest adopt a business plan that doesn't require insecure devices from the customer.

The food was great and the atmosphere was excellent you have to download the apps from your table

Super sports bar! Easy to see screens from all angles. Also great beer - especially the bale ale which wqs delicious . Staff super friendly. Really warm and cosy . Great little afternoon drinks.

We pre booked explained we had a wheelchair user (terminally ill) on the booking form . We were given a very high table so she had to eat off her lap below everyone else ,also the disabled toilet was being used for storage so she couldn't use it safely. Also the food was very dry not enjoyable at all . When we identified this to staff a member did offer to change our table and remove the storage from the toilet when we need it next . We simply weren't going to up root other customers and spoil there experience and feel embarrassed. With some disabilities you simply can't wait for items to be removed from the toilet. The staff member did seem to genuinely care about the situation. There was 8 of us in our party we simply will never go there again the place is a disgrace.

Great atmosphere for Wales USA. Booked a table before for food and stayed for the match. Not too busy, Bale Lager is great and the man himself scored.

Good atmosphere for the sports fan. Good value food and wide drink selection. You will need to book at busy times.

Nice food, decent atmosphere ... There was a very loud woman with a voice like an angry seagull, but I don't feel like that was Gareth bales fault, so it won't affect how I feel about the experience or the rating I feel it deserves. Will go back again at some point I imagine. Ta

Awful bar - we came here as a stag to watch the football on a Sunday. The place has absolutely zero atmosphere, disinterested bar staff, they don’t turn up the volume for matches, and the drinks are SO expensive. The pints are on par with what you would pay in London or Dublin. Couldn’t wait to leave, the whole ordering on an app thing was terrible for groups also. Not to mention the pints were absolutely dead and of really poor quality. Do not waste your time

Watched the F1 here. Great experience overall. Only minor issue I had was that you weren't allowed to order from the bar and had to order from QR code but food and drinks were quick and good value!

You have to order your drinks by scanning a qr code at the table. As a result of this I was taken to a rip off site and charged and extra £2.40... small amount but it sticks in the throat

Abysmal soulless bar, table service only, order via app, even the audio quality isn't great for a sports bar. This hopefully is not the way forward for pubs in the city.

Venue is splendid, I'm a repeat customer. Only quibble is the food menu is incredibly cheese heavy. Not a good place to get food if cheese isn't for you.

The manager and bar staff downstairs were fab! Cannot complain and brilliant service! Needed to charge my phone upstairs. Bar staff were so unhelpful. No chargers working and did nothing to explain why power wasn’t on or suggest any alternatives. Very lazy in comparison to...

Brilliant place to watch the footie. Great quality screens all over so very good views of the game wherever you sit. Added fun is the cool signed shirts and other sporting memorabilia on the walls. Very friendly and efficient staff.

I went here recently for the first time in a while. It was OK but I wasn't a fan of the maitre de kind of welcome you get (being asked if you have a reservation/seen to your table) or the system of no bar service. Everything goes through a QR code on your table which didn't work for half of the guys in my group. Just seems a bit formal for my liking. It was much better previously where it was more a traditional sports bar

Went to watch the Joshua Usyk fight in elevens. Fantastic speedy service from the app and a great atmosphere. Door staff were brilliant for a busy night and extremely friendly and funny.

Quick friendly service. Food was OK for the price but the pizzas didn't have much taste to them. No real ales available.

Wasn't really for me. Placed in gray room with waiter service only. Lots of people will love this whilst watching sport. Just wasn't my kind of place .

Why does this place insist on using the app to order when there's no need and three waiters are waiting for you to place the order on a slow app rather than just come and do table service?

Just visited Sunday lunchtime. Asked if we'd made a booking by some upstart jobsworth who went to check if a table was available. Low and behold he escorted us to an empty part of the pub, then only to be told we had to buy the drinks through the table service when there was 2 guys behind bar twiddling thumbs . Off we went , no more elevens for us.

Great place to eat and drink, we are a family of 4, kids age 9 and 14. Booked a table for family meal as son is massive football fan and always loves looking at the memorabilia. Gorgeous food, great service, everyone very welcoming and attentive....
