Such a lovely place, food was absolutely fantastic, would give more than 5 stars. Excellent service from Mike and Angela. Would recommend to everyone. Very enjoyable. :-)

The hosts of the pub are amazing, Angela is outstanding so friendly. The pub is value for money. I ordered the Gammon, it was really hot, great quality, fresh ingredients. Worth a visit.

Excellent food we came with family, 12 Philips and Cowans, the food came out hot, all cooked just right, all gone made an fresh along with the large Yorkshire Puddings. Service was fast and knowing how much we all love out gravy, the staff couldn't do enough for us. Compliments to all and the chefs. Amazing Sunday Roasts, I would highly recommend 👌 😀 👍

Great food, Sunday dinners were epic choice of chicken, turkey, beef or lamb. Good portion size cooked perfectly. Will definitely come again.

We were a family group of 6 eating from the festive menu and we were very impressed. The food was excellent and the presentation of it was spot on and the staff made such an effort to make our Xmas get together memorable. The staff are lovely, the food is of excellent quality and great value. The ambiance of the dining area is friendly and welcoming. The toilets are maintained to a high standard. There are plenty of car parking spaces. Great experience!

I was at The Cross Inn with a friend yesterday for a Sunday Roast lunch. It was delicious. Good Value. Plenty of different vegetables. Very tasty like a home cooked meal. The staff are very friendly & helpful. I will be there again on Thursday with 4 friends & I know I won’t be disappointed with my meal. Looking forward to it.

The staff and food are incredible! We regularly use them on a Wednesday. They always go above and beyond for us! Such a nice atmosphere and always happy to see them on a Wednesday! They are great for all ages! Defo recommend the prawn salad unreal!!!

Came here with my wife and kids. I had a burger, my wife had the lasagna and my son the kids pasta and brownie for dessert. The food was lovely, and service great with everything coming in good time. The portion sizes were great too. Will definitely be coming here again.

I am just back from the Cross Inn after having a Christmas meal with 4 friends. The table was set very festive. The meal starters main meal & desserts you could not fault. The service was impeccable. We spent a lovely afternoon. More than satisfied. Very very reasonable. I will be there in 2 weeks with other friends for another Christmas meal. I would thoroughly recommend it. The whole package. Out of 24 mains and sandwiches there is only 1 vegan option. Sorry but that is poor. These days it seems every restaurant feels they must have meat or dairy in every meal - there are lots of flavours in the plant world so it shows a lack of creativity. Before this time meat and dairy were a treat a few times a week but we have become obsessed with it in every meal and every day. The UN is now recommending more plant based meals because you can have the same calories and protein using less land, water and emissions. Please consider this and I’d be happy to update this review to 5 stars with more vegan options. Regardless what people think of my diet choice at the end of the day I just want to walk into a restaurant and have at least a few vegan choices for mains. Thanks.

The Cross Inn is old but had a thorough "wash and brush-up" late 2011. It is a Brains pub, but now that these are now operated by Marston's, serving the excellent locally brewed range of beers and lagers along with the standard selection of Strongbow, Guinness, Carling and Carlsberg Export. They do serve food from lunchtime till early evening - though I've never tried it myself (I prefer eating out a little later than when they stop serving - usually 7 or 8pm). Friends have said it's fine. It's now from the Marston's selection so there's little variation between the local pubs. "The Cross" being near the centre of Rumney Village and just alongside the shops, is usually quite busy and more of a pub persons pub than others in the area. It has a large car-park (small charge unless you're a customer) and offers free WiFi so is very useful for business travellers.

We visited here for a few drinks and food last saturday to watch the rugby. Staff members that served us were super friendly, even making suggestions and tips. The pub was covid safe and spread out without worry about being too close to anyone either....
