The best restaurants in Gwynedd North Wales

A gorgeous wee spot with incredibly friendly people who stayed past closing, delicious fresh locally made produce, and just an overall lovely spot. Couldn’t recommend it more. Diolch!

We found the food, service, ambiance and cleanliness at La Marina to be excellent. It is in a nice location opposite the marina/dock at Y Felinheli. We recommend La Marina for somewhere with a 'touch of class' to enjoy a meal.

Wow what a find. We went back thereafter a castle visit. Had a lovely hearty Welsh stew and I had crumble and hubby had choc cake and custard. Milk shakes too. Karen and team v v welcoming and made a pair of holiday makers v happy. If you like a good homecooked meal go give them a try. GF options excellent too

We were looking for vegan/vegetarian lunch in Bala. We happily found Y Cyfnod Cafe & Bistro to enjoy our selection of food and wines Warm friendly atmosphere, with a large selection of all types of food for all We had pizzas and multiply cooked gorgeous chips. Which was very tasty/filling too, that we brought some away for later. Via a pizza box supplied by the wonderful table host. We enjoyed Hope you do too. Regards Me

Home cooked food very nice and very reasonable prices. Been twice now and intend to go again this week. Worth a little wait as everything cooked from scratch

Had a fantastic meal on Friday. Curry night + food for kids....also chicken for the two dogs. Went one afternoon to get a beer but was shut....then the owner Heidi i think that is her name,said come on in and let us have a couple of beers. Love the menu,just the right balance. Thank you gor looking after us,the kids and the pooches. Would go back again. Worth the six hour drive. Heidi dont work yourself to the wall. Its a gold mine. A perfect balance. Find someone you trust and sit back a little. I have been in the same place. X Thank you.

Always visited this pub when passing through Llanrug with friends and tonight I drove out of my way to have a meal there. I phoned to reserve a table and specifically asked for a cod meal. Staff obliging saved one for me. Came quickly and beautifully presented. First mouthful didn't taste right but I carried on breaking it up and tasting bits. Parts cold and rubbery/uncooked. Other dinners saw me smelling it on a couple of occasions. Waitress noticed that I'd left it and asked if it was ok but I said I couldn't eat it and explained why. She removed it and didn't return. 1.5hrs later I've had serious upset stomach so I phoned them to complain (something I've never done anywhere) but they'd had my money and didn't want to know. They said I'd eaten it all and yet said he'd tasted it 🤮 after me. 🤮. How unhygienice of him. Customer service missing, never to return 🤮

We usually eat here twice per month. The food varies but is usually quite good.Last Saturday my burger was passable but not tasty. Today I had the Mousaka. The side salad looked. Like chopped up end bits from old salad. The Sweet potato chips limp. Mousaka was bland and I only had 1 slice of Aubergine. I wasn't going to to complain as I never do, but then the worst thing was that the sliced potato at the bottom was raw. I complained and they only knocked off £5 from the bill. When I asked why? they said I'd eaten most of it. It was a tiny portion anyway for £22.95. I wish I'd taken a photo or video of the raw potato but I truly believed they would be civil about my complaint. I'm a good tipper as I used to be a Server when I was young and I know how hard it can be. I'll be giving 1957 a wide berth from now on.

After hearing that the food was very good, I attended the restaurant with my friends for a dinner out. What I hoped to be a lovely dinner turned into a dish from hell. The service was slow and rude, and it took a very long time for the food to arrive. I ordered the sea bass veracruz as it sounded nice. However upon arrival, the food was lukewarm. This was of course underwhelming but I overlooked it. However, things only got worse. As I bit into the sea bass, I was horrified to find a long black hair in my mouth. This obviously is revolting and is very poor standard. My friend’s food was also lukewarm and he ordered the Manana Mexican Burger. He is however lactose intolerant so ordered it without the grilled cheese and if any lactose free cheese was available he would greatly appreciate if that was used instead. However, the burger came and there was cheese. He assumed it was lactose free cheese so ate it all. It was not Lactose free cheese. He ended up ruining his underwear and ultimately our night out. Afterwards, he proceeded to ruin the interior of my car. It still smells to this day. To add to matters, after asking for a rushed bill, the service to bring the card machine took ages, and they tried to add things we had not purchased. Overall, I encore the public to stay far away from this hellhole.

Let me start this by saying the staff are brilliant and this is absolutely no reflection on them nor the quality of the food or drinks. However, if you want to go somewhere where the value is just ridiculously poor - this is your place. It seems to be a shining example of how to rip the tourists off.

The food here was amazing and quick. The only thing that was irritating were the plagues of wasps hanging around outside. Service was exceptional. Would do back.

Popped in for food with a friend on a quiet midweek in October - very well looked after and the food was excellent. Would recommend to anyone.

Had been previously with no problems . This time ordered a glass of wine and a bottled beer . Noticed a mark on my glass but as it was outside of the glass I let it ride . Then half way down my hubbies drink I noticed two black marks stuck on the inside of the glass at this point I went to the bar and quietly pointed out that the glass was dirty and mine had been too the reply was it’s probably from the dishwasher and what would you like me to do ??? I said I am just making you aware we have had two dirty glasses . No real apology . I certainly was not after a free drink or anything but a proper apology would have been appropriate . We then ordered a second drink, too which I said to hubby make sure we get clean glasses . My glass was fine ,his was even worse than the last time , I went to the bar with the glass asked for a clean one , tall girl with blonde hair grabbed the glass and gave me a fresh one no apology at all and even worse returned the glass to the bar so it would be used again . I support local businesses all the way and hate giving negative reviews but if you’re given two chances to resolve a problem and it’s not satisfactory then you reap what you sow . A clean glass is not too much to ask for !!!!

Tremendous value for money yet again excellent service from the staff always smiling nice and warm inside and beautiful view as well what’s not to like

Went in just for takeaway drinks, staff not very pleasant didn't even acknowledge me stood at bar and made me think they didn't deserve my business. Doesn't take much to smile and be thankful to customers.
