Lovely place. The food is home cooked and beautiful. Recommended by a local as the best pub for a country mile and he wasn’t wrong!

Booked a table for Sunday lunch, we ordered the roast beef and lamb shoulder for mains. The lamb shoulder was superb, tender and melted in the mouth. Roast potatoes were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. I highly recommend this restaurant if you’re looking for a great Sunday lunch or a great meal at any time.

As always we had a great sunday lunch there was 13 of us the food all came out together the staff are brilliant and nothing is to much trouble. The food was that great we went three times while staying at Talybont Chris and Emma do a fantastic job and the staff are a credit to you keep up the good work we will be back xx

Food was very average for the price. Chips were from the chip shop attached to the building. I definitely though it was going to be better as the place presents very well. Just doesn't deliver!

We had Sunday lunch which was absolutely stunning and when it comes to food I am a moaner and not easily pleased, mushroom soup amazing, beef dinner amazing , bread and butter pudding with homemade custard amazing, The staff and the owner were so lovely and friendly, the venue is beautiful and so clean highly recommend this place 👌👌

Absolutely lovely food couldn’t fault it at all, good portion sizes ! The two gentleman behind the bar were very helpful too! The only issue was a slight menu error but this was rectified at the till.

We went to 1957 for the first time today to have lunch with a cousin from Barmouth whilst staying in the area. Very warm welcome from Abbey, and Aidan settled us in. Three different types of meals ordered and all spot on. First class service, ambience with quality food and drink. We will be all be back again and again.

Absolutely gorgeous food. It was the chefs first day on his own and what an amazing job he did. We didn’t book and the blond lady at the bar found us a lovely table and squeezed us in. She was attentive, very pleasant and chatty. The waiter was great. Although he was mega busy serving all the tables, he was polite and really did an amazing job. Food was second to none. We expected some average pub grub but it’s the complete opposite. You guys did really amazing job. Well done and thank you!

Amazing Sunday lunch as usual. Food and service was faultless. Amazing starters, the crispy brie wedges were definitely worth going back for on their own. I'm not normally a 'sweet person' but the sticky toffee and date pudding was irresistible. All great value for money.

Excellent food, beautifully presented, fresh, good portions, good value and as always fantastic service ftom the lovely Shirley. She is always so bubbly and happy and makes your dining experience so lovely. One of my favourite places to go to when we holiday here. Oh and the best homemade traditional chips amazing.
