I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough!
The food was amazing quality and the service was fabulous! All staff were friendly and efficient throughout the evening!
We cannot wait to travel and stay here again!
On a recent visit to Barmouth we found this little Gem of a place that is open on Sundays. There was a special board out side and it was the Cheese and Onion pie that drew us in . Both my husband and me had this and it came with new potatoes and salad . It was delicious and very reasonably priced . We were naughty and were too tempted by the delicious homemade sweets and puds they had to offer . I had the jam and coconut cake and my husband opted for the apple pie. They were presented lovely with fruit and a pot of cream on the side. The staff were friendly and attentive. Will definitely be returning next time we are in Barmouth
We have been to Caban several times and have enjoyed the food. The menu has changed but not for the better. The salad bowl is a misnomer: one third potato, one third pasta and one third grated carrot. The menu on tripadvisor is nothing like the actual menu. I didn’t check the ingredients for the salad bowl on the specials’ board but had expected a proper salad similar to ones I have had in the past. We were disappointed and will not go there again.
We called in just for a cup of coffee and a cake. I rarely moan about prices, but on this occasion, I did feel it was not good value for money, the coffee was below standard and the scone we had wasn’t the freshest.
The staff appeared to be quite grumpy, which didn’t leave a particularly nice atmosphere.
It’s a nice location, however with a nice large car park and in the summer, it would be nice with the outside seating. They just need to up their game a little in this day and range of reviews like this
Amazing food and service with a smile !! Lovely family run business . Have eaten here a few times and will definitely be back . I will travel from Liverpool to Pwllheli for this wonderful restaurant !! See you very soon !! ❤️
We were struggling to find a bar to have a drink and take the dog in Pwllheli, they do not appear to be so dog friendly there as they are in Porthmadog and Abersoch!
We had driven past Whitehall and saw the board outside saying dogs were welcome and parked up. Hubby went inside and I then realised the board was for the pub next door so called him and we went there instead. Orla (the owner) greeted us warmly and advised it’s table service only so we sat in the beer garden and ordered some drinks. We shared with Orla the struggle to find somewhere open on a Monday and then also allowing dogs. Orla came over and told us they weren’t usually open until later in the week but as the weather was nice, thought they’d open up and see if people were about. Orla chatted with us about the area, where to go and where to avoid, she was a real fountain of knowledge and even wrote it all down for us. We’re not sure on the food experience as we didn’t eat, but please ignore the negativity in the previous review as it seems mainly based on character of the owners and to be honest, the owners were so hospitable and warm with us, I don’t get how their experience was so vastly different to ours! Orla is from Cork and has lived in Wales for many many years, go see her if you want some true advice on the area, she’ll definitely help you! Thank Orla!
Lovely little restaurant with a warm, relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
Welsh tapas - sounds odd but it works :-) An interesting mix of typical Spanish style tapas dishes (cod baked with a tomato and olive sauce) and some with a Welsh twist (cockles and laver bread). The young lady who served us was really helpful and friendly. Thank you for being patient and supportive with my husband’s learner level Welsh!
This place is a bit strange. Bit too ‘new age’ for us. Clothing on sale quite ‘samey’ perhaps South American. Musty smelling old chapel building. Glad it’s in use. Loved the wooden tables in the cafe though, whole tree slices. Didn’t hang around for food/drink.
An absolutely beautiful little place with probably the best eggs I have ever eaten. Quiet but busy in the best way. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. :) I had the smashed avocado with poached eggs and my husband ordered the Ivor.
Lovely little cafe/deli on the main road in Abersoch.
Full of wonderful speciality food items to buy, including freshly made food.
Opted for a slice of quiche & sausage roll. Neither were cheap, but both absolutely delicious. You certainly get what you pay for & these items were worth every penny.
Best place in barmouth for a lunch. A great place to meet friends or take the kids as there's something for everyone. Brilliant staff who have been the same for years which tells a lot. Cakes gorgeous and the food is well priced and salads are amazing. Falafel and ceaser is my fav.
Coffe is the best in barmouth for sure.
Keep it up girls. We love it there x
We arrived for dinner on a Saturday evening, place wasn’t too busy but it still felt like the small group in the corner were quite loud but I think it’s down to the layout of the restaurant being one giant room. Service and quality of the food was very good, wouldn’t say it was 5 star service or 5 star food, so would of been 4 stars but I personally found it ridiculous that they didn’t have any alcohol free beer, so you lost a star for that.
