The Ship Hotel in Gwynedd

Had Sunday lunch here. Frankly it was sublime. Freshly cooked using quality ingredients, generous portions and very good value in very nice surroundings. Service was really good and attentive and came with a warm welcome. We had a pudding between us as couldn't manage one each. Delicious rhubarb and apple crumble and custard again freshly cooked. Good selection of beers and wines and good value. Sadly don't live locally or would be here every Sunday!

Main bar is too big for the long narrow room. Awkward to get to the bar or past the bar. The seating by the bar area has too many tables and crammed together too close. This creates an unpleasant atmosphere. The stereo sounds rubbish, either upgrade it or don't bother at all. The 3 staff at the main bar are very busy and you struggle to get served at peak time. The Beer was OK and the food was good. I recommend the food and it didn't take too long to arrive.

Amazing food. Consistently good every time we’ve been. You may have to wait a bit Longer than average but I find it reassuring knowing everything is freshly prepared.

We stayed in Room 6 for 3 nights. It has a huge and comfortable bed. Nice large room and en-suite. It has a great view out of the beach and the church out of the two windows. Breakfast was very good with a lot of options. We had two meals in the restaurant. Sunday lunch which was fantastic and the steak which was cooked to perfection. The staff are very friendly and Alun (The Captain) was very helpful and attentive. Aberdaron is an amazing and relaxing place. We can recommend this place enough.

Great pub at heart of Aberdaron. Really good food. Good, fast, warm.service. Landlord has been there since 1982! Recommended.

I recently stayed at The Ship Hotel and had a fantastic experience. The room was comfortable and well-appointed, meeting all our needs perfectly. The staff members were exceptionally friendly and accommodating, making our stay even more enjoyable. A special shout-out to Alun, who went above and beyond by sending us our forgotten glasses after we had checked out. This thoughtful gesture truly highlighted the excellent customer service at this hotel. The breakfast provided was delicious and offered a great variety of options, ensuring a perfect start to our days. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend The Ship Hotel to anyone looking for a pleasant and hospitable lodging experience.

we stayed here for 2 nights was a great hotel excellent location the owner couldn't do enough for us would highly recommend we will definitely be coming back

Stayed for three nights while walking the Llyn coast Path. Good base if you are nipping over to Bardsey Island for the day. The accommodation was spacious and comfortable and Alun & his team are great hosts. The bars are quite lively, and the food was good. Apparently someone complained once about the noise of the sea - we thought that it was lovely and we slept like logs.

Had my birthday dinner here on Weds eve after the car park was too rammed to get in to over the bank Holiday weekend (the NT one). Food and drinks reasonably priced and service excellent. Lovely hot plates too! They did mention its possible to move a couple of cones if anyone is struggling for a space in future, handy to know :)
