On a recent visit to Barmouth we found this little Gem of a place that is open on Sundays. There was a special board out side and it was the Cheese and Onion pie that drew us in . Both my husband and me had this and it came with new potatoes and salad . It was delicious and very reasonably priced . We were naughty and were too tempted by the delicious homemade sweets and puds they had to offer . I had the jam and coconut cake and my husband opted for the apple pie. They were presented lovely with fruit and a pot of cream on the side. The staff were friendly and attentive. Will definitely be returning next time we are in Barmouth

We accidentally found this little gem. We arrived In barnmouth on a Friday afternoon just as they were about to close. They went out of their way to stay open and we ordered toasties teas and coffee. Absolutely delicious. Such welcoming and friendly people who went out of their way to tell us information and find out things for us. It was my best friends 70th birthday and a big house had been rented with all of her family arriving. We went back on sunday late morning and had delicious cakes/scones and coffee/teas. Lots of different orders with different types of milk..no problem at all. The owner even said if they'd known we were staying till Monday they'd have done us all a roast dinner. Such kindness and generosity. Basic and clean café and a good menu choice and delicious food. Very reasonable Would highly recommend and visit again of I'm there again. Having run a business like this myself I was impressed..and would love a job here with such lovely people

We stopped at Murray's for a coffee and a cake and we were not disappointed. When we walked in there were no available tables but we were welcomed in and a table created for us, we ordered latte and a flat white, a plain scone with the works and a slice of Gluten free courgette and avocado cake both absolutely delicious. I was also given the gluten free Flap jack to try which was also very good. They also came with a colorful, fruity garnish, yum. Everyone was so friendly and helpful, the food that was coming from the kitchen looked delicious too. we will definitely be returning. Thanks

This little cafe used to cater so well in the allergen free cakes but now I do feel like since new management have took over it is not as well catered for, which is such a shame as I did feel like this was the only cafe in Barmouth that catered for my allergies and I used to love going in for coffee/cake/snacks. I just hope these reviews get read and they take the comments onboard.

Visited previously and always a good coffee and cake served here. But on this visit felt totally uncomfortable when the manager said to all the staff” come on let’s clean up I need to go early” thing is all the customers heard this as well and it was only 3.25 One of the members of staff must have noticed how we felt and came over to apologise. Having read reviews this shop is under new management, but perhaps the shop should be looking for another manager with a better customer service.

This was my total go to place for coffee and VERY special cakes over the past 2 years, but sadly its under new management, and they seem to be, well, NOT managing. On a wet Friday in June I arrived at 12:00, and 26 minutes later I still hadn't got my 1 coffee and one slice of cake! I was really annoyed, as I had to leave for an appointment, having paid at the till, with nothing having arrived. I am scoring a '3' in the hope that these are their first weeks and they'll get their act together soon. Be nice for the cosy feel to be reinstated too....its now just some tables dotted about in a rather empty looking space. I wish them well and hope they can get up to speed in time for the summer hols.

Recently changed ownership. Now very poor - quiches warmed up in microwave with very soggy base and pastry casing. Bacon sandwich was uninspiring with a slice of leathery bacon slapped between 2 slices of bread from a cheap loaf! One of the staff had a bad attitude - especially when we we asked her to wipe down our table after we had cleared it from the previous customers. Food not a patch on how it was before so after eating at Murrays for many years, we shall not be returning!!

SUMMARY:Great atmosphereFriendly staffGood dietary optionsI'm staying in Wales for a break; decided to walk up the coast to Barmouth, across the Barmourth Bridge, and up the high street. I was suprised by the variety and presentation of the places to eat!I chose Murray's, initially, because of there was a board in the window advertising free wi-fi! I'm glad that I did. The rest of the exterior gave off, to me, an almost Mediterranean vibe.Inside was cosy and spacious, with dogs invited (provided they are well behaved!) and comfortable seating. There's also a shop on one side of the establishment selling local and high-end produce.I sat at a table and flicked through the menu. Whilst not incredibly broad it offered a good selection of lunch staples: soup of the day, sandwiches, baguettes, jacket potatoes as well as more Italian-inspired meals like ratatouille and chargrilled vegetables. I'm a fussy soul and am on a gluten-free and plant-based but was pleasantly surprised at the options available to me. I chose one of the daily specials: chargrilled vegetables with vegan cheese on a jacket potato. I opted for a coconut milk decaf latte to go with it.I was delighted with the presentation (see picture) and loved the side salad (including pomegranate seeds, raspberries and grapes with the usual lettuce and carrot). The chef came out to offer balsamic vinaigrette and their own maple syrup/white wine drizzle. The potato was fluffy inside but with a defined jacket, the vegan cheese melted nicely and the chargrilled vegetables infused the potato with a wonderful herby taste. After finishing I considered the amazing range of cakes and desserts. Sadly there wasn't anything to fit my fussy diet (but an inspiring selection otherwise of dairy-free, gluten-free and full options). I felt welcomed the whole time, the staff were friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating and I left feeling refreshed and ready for the 4-mile amble back to my digs.

We have visited here many times but yet again there was a hygiene issue........ we ordered the chocolate cake warm with cream. I then watched one of the staff take the cake off the plate with her bare hands (no cake slice or tongs) and place in the microwave. She then took it out and touched it with her hands to see how warm it was! She was not wearing food gloves and I had seen her using the till etc. beforehand. When she brought the cake to the table I refused it and told her that I could not eat it because she had used her bare hands to handle it. She just said 'ok I will get you a refund. No apology, no offer of any alternative. No Customer Service! Training of staff required I feel.

The service is a little brusque, starting with the instructions to dog owners right through to the taking of the order. If you can get past this element though the cakes are gorgeous and the milkshakes fab. A little pricey for me, especially given the service and that you order at the counter. I would go back and hope they can improve the service as I would score much higher then and wouldn’t mind the prices too if the place was a little friendlier.

Popped in one Sunday afternoon after a long walk along the sea front. Although busy we were able to get a table. A very good selection of homemade cakes and scones. Good choice of coffees and cold drinks. Service was quick and friendly. Although only having coffees the food menu looked as if it had a good selection although a bit pricy.

This was a nice clean bright cafe but expensive. £12.35 for 2 scones and 2 coffees. I loved the lemon drizzle scone but partner disappointed with fruit scone. Probably wouldn't go back purely based on the price. We had the same in another local cafe a few days earlier and it was £4 cheaper.

Small cafe on main thoroughfare. Excellent menu. Well presented, tasty food. Note, only accept cash but well worth making the effort as cash point only across road.

While visiting Barmouth we found this little cafe for a quick bite to eat. The sitting is rather limited and some tables rather close to each other. The menu had a nice selection for a cafe. The specials were clearly displayed along with 3 soup options for the day. This cafe can cater for vegan, and GF and are clearly marked on the menu. The food is nice and the service is good. But it’s rather expensive for 2 tuna baguettes (£7.95 each) a child’s macaroni and cheese, 1 drink and a coffee came to £27.00 then we decided to have cake. 2 slices of cake and 1 brownie cake to almost £12.00. Nice food nice presentation, nice service. But slightly inflated prices for food. However it was an enjoyable visit. And the carrot Carmel cake is to die for

Nice cafe with good service and choice of food. We had paninis which were nice and a pot of tea for 2 - just thought the overall quality didn't warrant a charge of £20.

Lovely little dog friendly cafe in the heart of the village. Warm welcome by the host and his friendly staff. Typical Welsh weather and unfortunately the biffolding doors were closed in July however will visit again when the sun is out Diolch

Love this place, we come here regularly the food is really good and affordable, the head chef we met was really nice along with all the bar staff, very friendly. Food is very very good and even caters for Gluten Free. Well worth a visit and would definitely recommend.

This a great little watering hole in Criccieth. We are always made welcome and good range of beers and drinks with a great outdoor space too. We always end up chatting with fellow drinkers and learn so much about local events, nice walks and places to eat. A great pub in hear of community

Gorgeous spot for breakfast, lovely sunny seating right outside. The breakfasts we had were lovely, but the sausages could have been a slightly nicer quality. The eggs were cooked perfectly, which is a bit of a fine art! Will definitely return.

Just visted this amazing little seafront pub and fancied a "light"supper so opted for the cajun chicken burger 🍔 WOW! As you can see from the picture it wasn't a light option. The burger was packed to the rafters, fully loaded and enough to satisfy the hungriest of appetites. Tender, moist chicken with a lovely spice. Crispy onion rings and gorgeous home made slaw with plenty of what looked like home made skin on fries. It was amazing! Not to be beaten i polished it all off with lovely chilled Madri. Well worth a visit. Keep up the good work chef 👍
