The meal was great, fish and chips for me and sausage and chips with baked beans for my son. Good size meals and freshly cooked.
Will call again with friends
Needed a place to stay as part of my 4-day mountain bike ride from Knighton to Conwy. I couldn't find any accommodation that would accept my bike overnight so had to reroute which meant I had to use the Slater Arms and what a find this was! Mie the landlord is really friendly and welcoming, my room was super comfy and the evening meal of steak and ale pie served in a big Yorkshire pudding with homemade chips, peas and gravy was absolutely first class! Oh, and there is some cracking ale on tap AND some of Jeremy Clarkson's 'Hawkstone Lager', the sessions and the premier, which was nice 👍😁
All in all, the Slaters Arms was an absolute gem of a find and I'm sure I will be back at some point, either passing through on my mountain bike or passing through on my Honda C90 Cub or CT110 Postie bike.
Many thanks Mike 👍
Friendly local pub we attended to watch the rugby. Unfortunately no food on offer when we were there but prices reasonable very welcoming when we arrived and keen to give us advice about the local area. Would recommend
We visited on a sunny but cool lunch time out of the peak season. The location at the end of the beach and near to a car park is very handy. The beach view from nearly anywhere in the cafe is probably the stand out feature here.
But the food and drink compete well with the view! We had toasties and milkshakes - both great by any standard. Possibly a tad pricey but the quality and convenience more than justifies the price.
The small points for us that nudge this closer to 4/5 than 5/5 was the lack of obvious shelter available in bad (wet) weather - although plenty of umbrellas for the sun). The other minor issue for us was the general waste and mixed recycling - bins provided of course, which is good, but most items are served takeaway in wrappers which may or may not be recycleable once dirty? Either way, clearly not many customers seemed to be really paying attention to this.
We visited for our daughter's birthday lunch on New Year's eve. Only a short walk from the Ffestiniog steam railway station.
We ate in the vault, for fun, and had it all to ourselves. The food was lovely and even though there were not many staff working due to the date, the food and drinks were served quickly.
Highly recommended.
Visited this small cafe .We had a good cup of coffee .The lady behind the counter was very chatty and friendly .A good selection of cakes and sandwiches was available .We then bought some goods from the charity shop in the same building .A pleasant visit .

I orderd sausage and chips with curry souce, chips has a slight crush to them but are good size chips so u taste the potato, sausages were like jumo sausages but smaller similar taste, and the curry was nice I belive it had a tiny bit of spice which I liked, not exacly Chinese food but will try there chicken fried rice next time, staff were nice and asked u exacly how u wanted the food to be put together
Nice spot for a coffee. Staff were pleasant. Unfortunately my flat white was the worst attempt at it that I have ever been served and was nothing like a real flat white. A cappuccino was also poor. We bought scones but they fell to bits in our hands as we tried to eat them. Outside tables were dirty and ours had the remains of chocolate cake smeared on the bbq table
After spending Christmas near here in thick fog and constant drizzle, it was lovely to set off for home on Boxing Day in the sunshine. We stopped to walk on the beach and it was so beautiful we decided to delay the journey and have a coffee here. So glad we did! The lady who served us was really friendly, and the coffee was fab. If we lived here we’d be here every day!
I’ve attached a little sketch I did of the cafe.
This hotel is exceptionally clean, tidy and comfortable to stay at. The attention to detail was impeccable. The staff are so inviting, friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this place. The views are exquisite. We stayed in room 12. The breakfast was perfectly cooked, you can add or take items from the full English, and they also serve eggs Benedict. It’s about a 10 minute walk to the town and beach.
