This lovely pub is effectively our local to our caravan on Hendre and we used to go many times to eat albeit we have not frequented it since 2018 when we found food disappointing on that occasion BUT tonight we called in after telephone call to the pub to book and lovely gentleman confirmed we could just turn up and we so glad we did wow we all fancied the BBQ ribs and can honestly say they were the best ribs I have ever eaten and my family also agreed we will definitely be back as the dinner was perfectly cooked and very generous portions the pub is very relaxing and the staff are so welcoming so glad to have revisited twinti and we will make it our go to pub again so happy 😊 brings back lovely memories when my boys were growing up.

Friendly hosts. Unassuming pub restaurant with truly excellent food — too much of it in fact, at a VERY reasonable price. A little difficult to find at night but well worth it!

Tried this place after reading reviews. It really was dog friendly, properly fog friendly, not just saying it. Was made really welcome and we all had great meals. Teenagers polished off their pizzas and Belgian waffles with great feedback and husband and I managed burgers, they were good. Dogs loved their ice cream and making new friends. We will be back.

The family ate here and generally the food was reasonable. My main issue was portion size. My wife and I had fish and chips and while the food was good the portion was child size. The fish was the smallest I have ever had anywhere. My son and wife had burgers and the were pleased but in-laws pizza was very poor with very few toppings despite paying for extra. You can get a far better pizza from Aldi for £1.50. Overall we would probably not visit again. We also had to correct the bill as we were charged for item we did not have.

I wouldn’t recommend this pub for food. A very basic menu and food which wasn’t up to scratch. Very disappointing as we read a few reviews on here and thought we would be ok. We fed back our disappointment to the staff. Service was ok.

Great pub, fantastic views from the garden but as it was getting cool we came inside to eat as the sun set over the hills. Loved the pork belly, home made chips and veg. Red cabbage a highlight and a lovely rosemary and apricot jus. My better half enjoyed her chicken burger. Great pint too.

We haven’t been to the Twnti Pub (aka Tu Hwnt I'r Afon Inn) for a meal since 2016 although it is on our doorstep. We had heard that the food was good under the new landlords Mike Rowe and Cat Becket. So when some of our guests asked where we could all go for a farewell meal before they left we suggested giving the Twnti pub a try. Had a look at their menu on fastbook and messaged them to see if it was current which it was, so we gave it a go. A Robinson’s pub, so usual Robbies’s ale’s available. We were made to feel most welcome and there was a fire going in the wood burner – happy days. Sat down with a drink and looked at the menu – order taken and the people on a large table near the fire left so we moved on to this table – result! The young lady behind the bar brought us new drinks and came with starters for two of us - Thai spiced cod fishcakes with salad and sweet chilli sauce which were lovely, delicious and light. Main courses came on hot plates and beautifully served two of us had the Sharing Platter for two - tempura prawns, cod goujons, karaage cheese bites, chicken goujons, onion rings, cheese rings, coleslaw, salad and a choice of dipping sauces - bargain at £16 and delicious. My wife had the Hunters Chicken - local breast of chicken wrapped in bacon with local welsh cheddar & BBQ sauce with beer batter onion rings (possibly a tad too much BBQ sauce would have been better with more cheese sauce, but did not spoil the dish). Two of us had the Lamb burger flames grilled 1/4 pounder with mild mint sauce and coleslaw all served with chips but that was our choice, I would recommend doubling up on the patties for an extra £2. All in all the food was great and nice to see local suppliers being used. The service was brilliant and value to money excellent bonus was the warming fire on a cold wet evening. It was a lovely evening a really good choice. Will definitely be going there again, may even try Sunday Roast as this also has rave reviews - many thanks - see you soon. Very, very disappointing. The garlic pizza bread starter was so overbaked we had to snap it not cut it, likewise the main course pizza was also overcooked. It was definitely not a sourdough home baked pizza, probably a pre made frozen one. My main course moussaka had also been overcooked and was very dry, side salads were limp and not fresh. The response from the staff was to deduct the garlic bread from the bill. Will definitely not return or recommend, this pub serves below average pub grub and the dining room had no atmosphere or character.

just spent a week in a cottage in pwhelli. visited this restaurant 3 times in the week. only a short distance from Pwhelli. the food was really good with ample portions , although the menu also has meals for smaller appetites ( covers most of the items on the main menu ) the car park on the main road is quite small but there is a larger one behind the pub. they don't take reservations but it wasn't a problem and we had no problem with a table or getting served. staff are friendly and helpful, give it a try well worth the visit.

On arriving the pub was busy locals very friendly but used a lot of swear words when talking despite several young children present.Landlord led on a dog bed placed by the bar petted his dogs got up and served behind the bar...........no washing of hands. Why we continued to eat god only knows.Food steak small for the cost and the chips half raw some cooked ok..very doubtful that they were home made .Menu very limited burgers I think three different types, moussaka, chilli, and steak. When I go out I want something that I have not eaten as a midweek dinner. We hoped it would of changed under new management sadly not.

We made the journey to the pub for some lunch as a family, on arrival we were told that as new owners who had recently taken over the pub, they weren’t providing food at this time, which was a bit disappointing as there was no mention on the website about this otherwise we wouldn’t have made the special trip there. Interior of the Pub looks lovely, but a shame we couldn’t experience it, as only in the area for the weekend.

I loved this place when I lived locally in the early 80s. It was an atmospheric local community pub and a stronghold of the Welsh language with many happy memories. It was with some trepidation that I returned to it 40 years on, this time for a meal. As soon as I stepped over the threshold the years rolled back, unchanged (largely) and an obvious recent Brewery make-over hadn't taken away the charm and it was obviously still a an old school local. Service was superb as was the meal that we had. Great beer as well - highly recommend the "surf an turf" and the beer of choice (Ddraig Aur) was first class. Diolch.

Four of us managed to get a table here during the hectic August bank holiday weekend. It’s a village pub in a small village off the Tourist path. The whole evening was a success. The waitresses were good. The bar staff were friendly and on the ball. Food was genuinely delicious. Everyone enjoyed their meal. The homemade chips were some of the better homemade chips we’ve had. It was my son’s girlfriend’s 22nd birthday and they brought out some cake and a candle and also the band sang happy birthday from the bar which was a lovely touch from the pub. We ate in the restaurant thank god because the bar got invaded by a coachful of boisterous weekend revellers on the booze bus which I guess is a bank holiday tradition. It would have ruined our night if we had been eating in the bar when they arrived! As we arrived one of them was being sick outside!! This is no reflection on the pub. I heartily recommend this nice local pub especially for its food. In the summer season there is a mix of people from all over but mostly this is a locals’ pub full of the people who live and work on the peninsula so don’t be surprised if no one speaks English when you visit, other than to take your order!!

Looking for somewhere to eat by Abersoch on a Sunday that wouldn't involve us queuing for hours, or eating with kids at a ridiculously later hour, we stumbled online on this pub. No knowing this area we provisionally rang to ensure we were ok and booked. Admittedly its not got the views of a coastal location but that didn't matter, the food was superb. Staff were really good and helpful too. I plumped for the surf and turf which was a hearty choice and ample portions and all delicious. The other meals were equally delicious.Loads to pick form off the menu and the same with kids options. Finishing touch was the fudge cake for my son, again ample portion and he loved it. Would recommend this place to any one for food, beats having to find parking and the nightmare of booking a table for a family at a decent hour.

You must ignore all reviews before Aug 2016 - as they do not reflect what the new tenants have done to re-vitalise the place, since they took it on in August 2016 and started to serve food in September 2016.Adam Dawson and Sion Jones (previously the chefs at the Ty Newydd in Aberdaron) are the NEW landlords of the Tafarn Tu Hwnti I'r Afon Inn (known locally as the Twnti Pub pronounced Tunti!). They and their team have really made a huge difference- the place is clean, warm, friendly, inviting, full of locals (which means it must be great) and produces superb proper home cooked food of a very high standard. We have just had a stonking meal there tonight with our family. The pub was rammed with Christmas parties - but they soon slotted all six of us on two tables in front of the fire. We had lovely meals from the 2 for £12 - menu (an absolute bargain - you can look at all their offers on their web site). Brilliant service, no problems with a setting up a tab, superb food served as requested and hot, obviously home cooked including the chips and nothing pinged, tom sauce and mayo in bowls rather than those silly little sachets. We all felt really full afterwards and we received a fully itemised bill showing that not only great value food but also reasonably priced drinks including soft drinks. What a lovely evening - we will definitely return, pretty soon (having seen what was coming out of the kitchen - see pictures) and are dying to try the carvery, which is supposed to be excellent and one of the best around here.Between us we had The Burger, Scampi and Chicken Melt with BBQ sauce all were delicious. We always go to the Tu Hwnt I'r Afon at least once a visit and then depending on how it does, perhaps go back again. We've done the same this year and won't be going back now until next year. The pub seems to be in the middle of a revamp; the bistro side has been decorated and carpeted and looks great. They also seem to be expanding the dining areas out at the back into what I think was the games room. The menu has also been slimmed down quite a bit and the choices were quite standard, even including the specials. There was plaice cooked in a butter and parsley sauce, but there's a special place in hell for people that use parsley. On anything. To make things worse every second thing that we asked for was finished, limiting the choice even further. The worst crime of all though, was that instead of the fantastic, twice cooked chips they used to do, we were given frozen chips - deep fried - but not the lovely fluffy, crispy chips of old. So average, our kids couldn't be bothered eating them. I had a perfectly acceptable piece of fish, with really good batter (not as big a whale-hanging-over-each-end-of-the-plate as it used to be, but I don't think that's a bad thing - it used to be too much).. My son's lasagne was beef, not the pork and beef that used to be served, Fish goujons for one daughter and scampi for the other. The only star was my wife's chicken supreme - to me it tasted like chicken with asparagus in a cream sauce; it was very nice indeed. But even this suffered slightly; there were no mushrooms in it as described on the menu, because they'd run out. There were only two ladies doing everything; taking orders serving food and looking after the bar. They looked extremely harried and were rushing around constantly. The service was still good and our food was only slightly delayed. All in all, it was OK, but that was about it I'm afraid. I'd rather have the rough and ready pub with excellent food, than the wannabee bistro with a dull menu. We may have caught them on a bad day, but we'll try other places first this time round.

Had a meal in the bar area Saturday evening we arrived a little late so we didn't expect to get a meal asked the lady behind the bar she gave us a menu and a little note with four items not available but we weren't disappointed I ordered the mushrooms for starters which where the most tasty starter I have ever had i then had the ribeye steak cooked exactly how I like it my wife had the home made burgers which were a little spicy for her all this came with a big bowel of home made chips all in all a fantastic meal in a beautiful pub served by friendly and very pleasant staff will return again this week (dilemma what to have next)

We returned yet again to Twnti for another equally brilliant lunch. This time the dining room was decked out ready for Christmas. Wonderful atmosphere, very festive. Landlord and Staff couldn't be more accommodating. Highly Recommended.

We arrived On Thursday night we were the only ones dining, Landlord very welcoming but alas food..... fish uncooked and chips some still cold semi frozen, what a shame as you would expect with only three meals to cook the effort would of been made to serve well cooked quality food. It was remade but this is not my idea of a night out to watch others eat and then have to eat your meal when everyone else has finished. We ate here on a regular basis, but sadly will not return as this was totally unacceptable. No apologies were offered which would of been a polite gesture, something I would not hesitate to do if it were my business, this was left to a very embarassed waitress

I wish we'd found this place years ago! Outstanding level of service & value that is rarely found on the Llyn due to a tendency to take advantage of tourists with high prices & poor service. Give it a try and experience great pub food at reasonable prices in a superbly welcoming traditional pub. Love it!

We've been to the Twnti more times than we can count and it's consistantly good if not excellent. They have the standard pub grub on the main menu, plus some slightly unusual things (I love whitebait and not that many places do it any more) and there are always intesting specials on the blackboard. The menu isn't that extensive but there's a good range. My son (10) loves the lasagne and it is really good - pork and beef. This latest visit, I had mussels and prawns which was excellent. My wife had a chicken and leek pie which she said was gorgeous. My girls (10 and 8) had scampi, which was pretty much what you'd expect. Proper chips. It's very family friendly and can get a table for 8 together easily. We had a Blues Brothers moment a few years ago; "What wines have you got?" "We've got both kinds, red and white!" And that's what they had, one red and one white. But really nice. They've moved on a bit now and there is a bit more of a list, but still quite inexpensive. If you want a glossy dining experience, this isn't it. But if you want good food and a down-to-earth evening, this will do nicely.

Hubby had kind prawn Thai curry with rice and naan and he said it was excellent. See past the old world pub style and get excellent food with great service.

Just came from the the pub and I have to write this. It is the best pub I have been to for quite a while. The food was excellent, and very hot. It was a change to go to a proper pub, without all the plastic and modern furnishings. It has got the pub characters, two following nights I visited the same chap sitting at the end of the bar enjoying the company.I will visit again

My Wife and I went to this pub last night and generally enjoyed one evening. The atmosphere was friendly as were the staff. The food was standard pub fayre with the bonus of home cooked chips and veg, even the peas were edible which is quite unusual for us. If we're ever going to leave stuff on our plate it will highly likely be pub peas. The drinks were very reasonably priced, the real ales very drinkable. I don't think its ever likely to be our favourite pub in the area but we'll definitely return at some point. Slightly off the beaten track therefore a good bet to get a table on these busy bank holiday weekends.

Recommended to come here early evening with children. It's a decent fairly trad pub doing decent grub, known as the "Twinti Pub" due to their well known next door neighbours. A pleasant bar area with a nice open fire, good selection of local beer. Food was good home cooked fare, in a new dining area. The only down side was the wait after ordering. Main courses came together, but there was quite a wait for desserts, with some arriving over 15 mins after others. I suspect this is an issue of new staff / early season blues. When kitchen and table service becomes slick and with a smile, it'll at least rival - and possibly beat - the Ship at Llanbedrog. So keep writing reviews, let's see how their reputation develops.

We visited this pub on a recent holiday to North Wales and can honestly say it was the worst food we have had in a very long time. They had a lovely roaring fire and the staff were friendly but the food was like school dinners, the menu stated different fishes in different sauces but when we ordered they said all the fishes had the same sauce, they were supposed to be served with new potatoes but then 10 minutes later a member of staff came out to say they weren't happy with the quality of the potatoes so we had to change our order to chips. When the food came the cauliflower cheese just dissolved in your mouth- truly disgusting, we ordered a side order of garlic bread which was literally a shop bought baguette cut in half, not even in individual slices. Will never return...

I wish I didn't have to re-write my review, but I feel I have to!We did return that same week for our last meal before going home, and to be honest, we could have walked into a completely different place! The restaurant was dirty with bits of food on the tables. The service was good, however, when the food arrived it was such a disappointment! We had a ramekin of vegetables and another of salad for four of us, and half the amount of chips we had had on our first visit.Sadly, after such a good first review, we will not be returning here next year and I cannot recommend it!

We visited on Sept 17th. We found the landlord very friendly and chatty. He also knows how to keep a good pint- excellent beer! We found him very knowledgeable about food and beer and obviously an enthusiast. We opted for the Welsh Black steaks each with a baked potato and a nice crisp salad. Seeing the reviews about the chips though, I wish we'd ordered chips instead- never mind, next time then. The steaks were cooked to perfection and melted in the mouth- beautiful flavour. The place is very friendly with very chatty locals who were only too happy to volunteer places to go and visit in the area. We really enjoyed our meal and the company was great. We will definitely go again next time we holiday on the Llyn. In fact, we will visit in the winter to sit by the famous log fire! Highly recommended

My family revisited this pub after being away for several years and we are so happy we did!The food was excellent - we all had different dishes off the menu, and we all thoroughly enjoyed what we had chosen! The amount of (excellent) chips was unbelievable!!Together with the clean surroundings and friendly service we have already booked a second visit at the end of the week.

Called in for coffee and cakes. Took ages to be served but staff were pleasant. We sat upstairs and appreciated the heating being on as it was a cold day. The coffee was weak and we only drank it to warm us up. My dad’s iced bun was more like a rock cake. The bara brith we bought to take home was the worst we’ve ever had. Completely dry and tasteless. Best thing about this place was the clean loo. Would not return.

A wonderful find - such a great restaurant! The menu is small but wow; the choices are fantastic. The coconut chicken was perfect, roast potatoes were delicious and the beautifully cooked. As a coeliac and dairy intolerant - would definitely recommend.

A thoroughly enjoyable evening. We started with a drink on the terrace and we were given the option of eating out there too and we did. A beautiful view and a perfect spot to watch the sunset .Definitely planning on returning.

Home cooked food very nice and very reasonable prices. Been twice now and intend to go again this week. Worth a little wait as everything cooked from scratch
