.The service was quick and extremely polite. The food was very good and the price fair. We sat outside with lovely views. Two of us had the specials lamb baguette and Seafood Platter.

Warm welcome from a helpful lovely very young waitress and a friendly knowledgeable young lady at the bar. Arrived early afternoon before the rush when all of the tables in the garden were taken. Enjoyed my seafood platter from the specials board and a sweet cider. Hubby recommends his lamb and mash washed down with a good cider. Far reaching wonderful views from a height looking at the castle on the right, and about 180degrees along the coastline and the flat land below including a golf course and caravan and motorhome camp site. Tables, floors and toilets were clean. Would come back for another meal in the pleasant conservatory.

Contrary to other reviews, I have always received a warm welcome at Plas Harlech and always enjoyed their food. We had some American friends who stated that the lamb was the best they had. We will be enjoying the lovely atmosphere and views across the bay at Plas Harlech again today 🫠

This is a lovely place with gorgeous views. I had the seafood platter off the specials board which was £16 and wasn't worth it. There was a couple of fish goujons 2 prawns and a piece of scampi with chips and salad. I thought there was something missing but didn't realise until we left and checked the board. There was supposed to be salt n pepper squid too but it was completely missing. I wish I'd checked before I ate it.

Place looks completely run down and then you step on to their terrace and the views are spectacular. Actually, even the terrace is a bit run down but I could easily put up with that when you could see the castle, beaches and a huge swathe of coast. I read a few reviews before I started to write and in contrast to some I found the food just fine. My wife and I both had the same seafood platter which is essentially breaded or battered seafood and chips. But very well cooked, piping hot when it was served as were the chips. In fact I thought the chips excellent. Dogs liked their sausages too. 🙂. Overall, with the sun shining this was a very pleasant lunch experience.

6 adults, 2 almost adults, 2 dogs. We went in for afternoon drinks. A man in the bar jumped up and shouted that the ice creams had to be finished before coming in. By this point the 2 young people with ice-cream were already out on the terrace. We asked if they were ok to finish them on the terrace whilst we all had drinks. We were told to go back out the front and finish the ice creams first. The manner was aggressive and it seemed as though we had interrupted a family gathering. Their loss.... £30 spent elsewhere......go down the road to Wilderness where they were extremely friendly and fabulous flavoured lattes with whipped cream.

Place looks weird and run done when u walk in. Best part for this restaurant is beautiful view over the sea, that was amazing. On the nice day that would be top spot to have lunch. We had lam sandwich, which actually was quite tasty. The chips were undercooked though! They don’t do table service and you have to order and pay at the counter, menu said cash only, we were almost about to leave (seriously, who carries cash now!!?), but lady said that they do take card as well as only cash point in the village is broken! Personally would not go back again.

I'd rather start with the + but folk often only read the beginning so here goes... (tl;dr at the end) Arrived for Sunday lunch soon after 12, two adults and two young teenagers. No mains on the menu, only five on the Specials board and we had four of them. This review is a joint effort, though I myself had a good sample of three of them. My wife's ham and eggs was OK. The portion was generous, in fact possibly too much ham, but mostly it was just plain. Nothing special. For £15 I'd expect a twist or just something really special. This wasn't that. 2/5 A couple of mouthfuls into the battered cod my son said it was 'really not good'. He'll eat most things and eats a lot so it's not like him to leave anything, but he ate the chips and left most of the fish, downgrading it to 'terrible'. I had a couple of mouthfuls and had to agree. Cod should be flaky and tender. This was chewy and didn't taste good, suggesting it was overcooked and possibly that it had been frozen. 1/5 My daughter had a couple of mouthfuls of the lasagne and gave up. I tried it and while I could see that it was not what she might have expected, I quite liked it. It was more tomatoey than beefy but that's down to preference and it was far and away the best of the four meals. 4/5 from me. 3/5 from my daughter. Mine was, allegedly, a minced beef and onion pie. Again, for £15 I'd expect something a cut above a normal pub pie. This was several tiers below. The puff pastry lid on a shortcrust base would have been fun on a good pie, but here it seemed like a gimmick. Both types of pastry were kinda average. The biggest let down was the filling. It was just bland. If you bought cheap frozen mince from a low-end supermarket and heated it as per the packet you'd get this. Not only was there no noticeable onion, there was no evidence of ANY attempt to give this any flavour. No apparent herbs or spices, no Worcestershire or soy sauce. No garlic. No noticeable salt and pepper. Even a few peas or some grated carrot would have added _something_. This was worthy of a 1980's school or hospital dinner. Not actively unpleasant so 2/5. So onto the better stuff. No one welcomed us, told us to find our own table, brought us menus or told us to order at the bar when ready, we had to work that all out for ourselves. However, the staff were all polite and cheerful and the food came promptly. The views are amazing, of course, and are largely what you're paying for, though if you're eating here you're probably staying nearby and travelling around the area so you have great views around you all the time. The Snowdon Craft Bitter is extremely good, I wish I could get it back home! 5+/5! Tl;dr: Looks like a great place to drink and socialize, but the food isn't even bog-standard pub fayre; it's sub-standard and not worth half the price. Avoid.

No idea how this place is reviewed so highly… tldr; premium prices, budget quality. The £15 ‘steak’ burger is woefully miserable; a beef patty, a bun, and a single leaf of lettuce. No sauces, no seasoning, no imagination. All of this would be acceptable for a £5 burger, but to charge premium prices and delivery such a low standard… I wanted to order the fish and chips, but despite being on the coast, they buy frozen battered fish. But don’t worry they still charge £15. Nothing is seasoned. The accompanying salad just as uninspiring. Another place that places no value on quality for children, the kids sausages are the cheapest nastiest lowest pork content around. Kids matter. Kids need quality nutrition not filler. Cheap vinegary-ketchup, cheap burger-van chips. Don’t waste you’re money here; they rely on one-off visit from tired tourists.

We have eaten here on a number of occasions and, until now, have never been disappointed. We called for drinks and a scone on the patio but the only good thing about this visit was the view over to the Llyn Peninsula. Despite its covid 19 precautions, clients had to order at the bar and were not waited on at the table. When our order came, the tea was served in a teapot (tick) but with no teabag! This had to be added by me so clearly the water wasn't hot enough so it wasn't the best cup of tea I have ever had! The scone which I ordered was appalling. It clearly was shop bought ( and not from a bakers) and wasn't fresh. It had been heated in a microwave before serving so was rubbery and chewy. So sad as we have always had good experiences here but we won't be coming back any time soon.

Beautiful views and lovely decor but sadly the experience was let down by the food. My husband ordered the beef and mushroom pie off the specials menu but was unable to eat it. The beef was tough, there was only half a mushroom which was...

What an amazing view and matched with excellent food and service. Have the pie of the day or the bean chilli and you won’t regret it. It’s the best restaurant in Harlech 😛

Amazing views from conservatory and little garden to rear. Menu quite varied with dishes of the day to support the printed menu. Was a cash only venue at time of our visit. Light lunch had, one cod in batter sandwich and 1 some fish, brie aand bacon burger. Latter served with fries slaw and salad. The battered cod sandwich came with slaw, tartare sauce and a salad - chips were extra

We visited this cafe at lunchtime during October 2020. The view from the garden of the castle and the beach/dunes is fantastic. Unfortunately this cafe does not open in the evening which is such a shame as Harlech has no pub and this cafe is licensed.
