Truly memorable 3 night stay at Buckley Arms. Well looked after, clean rooms, lovely breakfast with an idyllic view, run by a super friendly family.

Picked up a takeaway from here on our recent stay in Dinas Mawddwy. Very nice and very reasonably priced. Highly recommend

Wow, we have just left this wonderful hotel after a fabulous stay, we arrived yesterday for a one night booking. This hotel gave us the recoup we were looking for away from my boyfriend and I’s busy lives. It did not let us down, do not be put off by the plain looking exterior once you are inside it is stunning a mixture of modern and oldy worldy tradition. The grand sitting room, hallway and stairs, the rooms are wonderful attention to detail is exceptional and the views simply complete the whole stay, We ended up spending our whole evening here it had everything we needed, a bar with a good range of drinks on offer, the most amazing food from it’s Chinese restaurant which is part of the hotel all we had think about was relaxing, drinking eating with a 2 min walk back to the room at the end of the night…. PERFECT! You will not be disappointed, we shall be back!! KJ & Mike x

Staff is amazing, we came with our 3 months old baby, and were greeted with such nice hospitality. Breakfast is great, rooms are clean and beautiful and the view from the room (Snowdon) is incredible. The Chinese restaurant downstairs is great with plenty of delicious options.

Traveled to the buckley arms just for the food.. Inside this traditional looking welsh pub/hotel, you will find the best tasting Chinese.. Greeted warmly, we were given a choice of tables, we opted for the window to watch the world go by.. Great little menu, great portions & amazing taste.. Worth the trip..

Stayed for one night's B&B whilst in the area. Lovely room overlooking the rear, stunning views and huge bathroom. Beds were super comfy, Chinese food in the evening was excellent followed by a good breakfast. Very friendly host who made a fuss of our Staffy.....yes, the place is super dog friendly as well, a big bonus for us !. We even experienced 2 low flying jets whilst we were there as the hotel is under the 'mach loop', what an incredible sight. Would love to return soon.

We were passing through and checked out The Brigand Inn and The Buckley Arms, both seemed excellent but plumped for Chinese this time and what a good choice. Spring rolls starter. Prawn crackers. Chicken Stir fry curry, egg fried rice and chilli ginger broccoli all shared between two. The lady is welcoming host, good chef behind the scenes and reasonably priced too. Thank you

We had been told about this hidden gem - a Chinese restaurant preparing home cooked food in a boutique hotel - so decided to try it for ourselves. The menu has some recognisable favourites as well as some unusual dishes (Snow fungus and pear soup). We tried a selection of both and were impressed by the freshness and the flavours. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. We would definitely return - even though it means driving from Aberystwyth - and are happy to recommend it to others.

Absolutely fantastic place. Run by utterly charming people, fantastic Chinese food, and the rooms are palatial. Recently stayed for the second time and highly recommend. Worth a detour to visit.

Buckley Arms is a very nice family-owned hotel. We stayed in a king bed room, which was incredibly spacious and comfortable. The room had all the amenities we needed. The hotel features a pub with a vast selection of rum and a Chinese restaurant inside. The food was absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced. The highlight of our stay was the owner, who is a fantastic person—funny, very sweet, and attentive. She ensured we had everything we needed for a perfect stay. I really recommend it!

Didn't stop overnight we had a lovely Chinese curry in fact one of the best would recommend trying excellent service from the staff well done

Bonkers!! In the middle of Wales would you come across a boutique hotel with a chinese restaurant in it? We did!! On entry to room dog was presented with a comfy bed and dog treats as well as 2 bowls. We wondered whether to go for a pub meal down the road but decided to stay put, thank god we did The food was exquisite. This was certainly not 'take away' food, reasonably priced wine. The bed was super comfy and the Breakfast was beautifully cooked- full welsh left me full and I like my breakfasts!! From monogrammed towels to Bath robes and slippers, from Nespresso coffee machine in room to amazing decorations and classical pianos-I only wish I could play! Will definitely use again especially if I come up with my youngest to see the Mach Loop

This place is simply wonderful, the rooms are large, exceptionally clean and very comfortable. The food at both dinner and breakfast was superb and extra praise must go to the most welcoming and lovely Lixia who genuinely made us feel as if we were at home. Certain to come back

Such a friendly welcome and delicious freshly prepared Chinese food. At the time of writing, food was available Wednesday to Saturday - highly recommended and well worth a visit. We look forward to coming back.

Lovely spotless hotel run by lovely family who couldn't do enough for our week stay with them. Lovely breakfast with lovely views out of window. Front bedrooms rather noisy with traffic after 6am therefore could do with triple glazing if allowed in old listed building

Called in for food as we were passing and in need of comfort food after a busy day. We had a starter of mushrooms and one of Brie and mains of sausage & mash, which was served with some veg and gravy. It was nothing fancy ~ but good comfort food and very enjoyable. We were served by a young waitress and a young lad who were very pleasant. It was sweet to see kids helping out their parents? All in all, it hit the spot and I would defiantly recommend for some good honest comfort food. If we are ever in the region again I would probably book in to stay as it seemed such a lovely family atmosphere.

Rooms were neat and clean! Handy bar at the hotel and friendly staff. The owner recommended all the tourists attractions nearby to us which was very handy. :)

Fab place, very cosy but beautifully done inside. Food is excellent and the staff are all very charming.

I was camping at the weekend and we found this place to get some dinner. The staff were friendly, and the atmosphere was nice and relaxed. Food was good pub grub and cooked with care. I would have liked a few more vegetables with mine but the ones I got where cooked perfectly. It’s not a gastro pub so don’t expect to much its good honest well prepared pub grub.

I called for food as I was parked up the road with work and got told at 19.25hrs the kitchen was closed done enough. Nice to be able to do this or they won't stay open long turning custom away like that . Another 3 came in while I was they and they same was said . Only reason for the 1 was they recommend the red lion down the road which was brilliant . Sorry to say I won't be calling to yours again but the red lion definitely see me again . We ate here on our one night in Dinas Mawddwy and we couldn't have made a better choice. The building is the oldest reinforced concrete building in Europe but it's no concrete monstrosity. The bar area is warm and welcoming with the bird related stained glass adding a nice touch. Choice of beers is excellent with some nice bottled continental lager and local bitters as well as a good choice on the pump. The food was all excellent with my Lamb Shank and Bread and Butter pudding, not forgetting the custard, one of the best meals I've had for a long time. Keith behind the bar and Gay in the kitchen are a great team and very welcoming and it was nice to hear a little bit of what brought them to Dinas Mawddwy. Tilly provided good entertainment and is obviously a key member of the team. The rooms also look great and we will undoubtedly do the full B&B experience in the future. We had a meal there last week and both had rump steaks. The steaks were ok and accompanied by salad and chips. Desserts were chocolate pudding again very nice. The service was slow and we noticed that kitchen staff were required so guess they were short staffed in the kitchen. This was not a problem to us as we were in no hurry. Resturant was only open a few days a week and so missing out of summer trade. Service was very friendly

Everything about our meal at the Buckley Arms was wonderful. I had the mushroom starter followed by steak which was served with both mushrooms and onion rings and home made chips. Desserts were also very nice.

The hotel is spotlessly clean, with lovely owners, and we had nice freshly cooked breakfasts. However the bed was awful. It was an old antique wooden frame bed made when most people were 5 foot six inches tall. The mattress was very hard and had lethal springs, which made it the most unconfortable bed I've ever slept in. The owners should buy a Visprung medium king size bed, and send the old bed to the St Fagans folk museum. So if you book there make sure you have a room with a new bed.

Very attentive proprietors, warm personal welcome, comfortable and stunning bedroom with gorgeous views up the valley. Food was home cooked and delicious.

We were slightly apprehensive after reading some of the review but how wrong they were!!! We had a lovely welcome off the owner and then got upgraded to a suite as the owners thought it would be better as they had a wedding party in. The room was amazing! We also had dinner on the bistro. The good was fantastic, we shared a starter, both had fillet steak and my husband had a pudding. All the food was well cooked good old fashioned pub grub :) thank you! If we are passing again we would definitely stay again :)

Al haber viajado desde Londres a Escocia y Gales, las cuatro adultos en nuestro grupo todos estábamos de acuerdo en que este fue el mejor que hemos tenido hasta ahora. El servicio es fantástico y nos hemos sentido muy bienvenido. A pesar de estar tan lleno de nuestras muy satisfactorio comida, nos impresionó tanto que nos Dove en el 'pudding menú' para el postre. comida estupenda y establecimiento. Recomiendo encarecidamente que vuelve en para comer.

We had well cooked food at a reasonable price in the bar. It was a typical pub atmosphere. The selection of beers was average. For a Friday night it was not very busy so service was quick.
