Once you’ve found Macroes Beach (an interesting drive) you will reach a fabulous coastal location & the perfect spot for a beach cafe. Mickey’s is set back a bit with outdoor seating. We just had coffees & cake which were both ok. Staff friendly. Extra points for location.

Let me start this by saying the staff are brilliant and this is absolutely no reflection on them nor the quality of the food or drinks. However, if you want to go somewhere where the value is just ridiculously poor - this is your place. It seems to be a shining example of how to rip the tourists off.

Ordered coffee and only a small cup of coffee was served which cost £3.50 - no choice of small, medium or large was available on the menu. Poor value for money.

Stopped off for lunch after a long walk on the beach. We ordered sandwiches and a wrap. Three of the sandwiches were quite poor, minimal filling and the ciabatta roll very dry verging on stale- We were unable to stay and eat due to the amount of wasps swarming around tables/people. Staff did say they were unable to do anything about the wasps, numerous customers ordered and left as did we. It was very expensive for the poor standard of food we had, and being unable to sit and eat there. It’s the first time we’ve had poor food here, we normally have a breakfast roll. No pictures to share, we were to concerned about being stung to take any. Hopefully we’ll have a better experience next time we visit - and they’ve invested in some kind of pest control for the wasps.

We have ate here numerous times and enjoyed it very much. However disappointed with our food today. Avocado on sourdough did not live up to expectations. Literally small portion of tasteless avocado on ultra thin slice of sourdough. At £8.50 was not value for money

Mickeys Boatyard is a good day out for a walk, particularly if you have a Dog the beach is long and clean and once you have finished the exercise you can have a rest a bit of food and a drink (not necessarily Alcohol) Parking is cheaper than most @ 3.00 for 2 hours and 2 hours is just about right for this venue. Now here is the "rub" getting to Mickey's will require your Sat-Nav as there is no signage at all until you get almost there. 3 miles through Abersoch and a number of single track roads the journey can be problematic. Once you make it you should enjoy.

Disappointed with my visit today (Sunday). I had a bacon barm which had 3 bits of streaky bacon instead of back bacon. At £6 I felt this was way overpriced. I was told the wait was 30mins and they weren’t fibbing! It was but I failed to see why as coffee served straight away which was finished well before my bap arrived. No queues at the desk so the delay must be in the kitchen. Not sure I will go back- shame really as it could be so good.

A little pricey, but it is Abersoch. Very nice sausage & cheese toastie, and the mackerel taco's very tasty. Excellent setting but don't follow Google maps to get here...had to drive a 4 ton motorhome over a golf course! Cappuccino fine but those"posh pops".. cola tasted like rollacola from Peter Kay , 3.50 a bottle, supermarkets sell this quality of soft drink at 60p for 3 litres.. Excellent Ice Creams, strawberry had actual fruit chunks in it and the honey was delicious.. Thanks for the experience!

Used to come here all the time before it became the little tea rooms, when the pricing was much more in tune with the quality. Visited here recently and ordered a regular latte (£4!!). The latte was very weak and tasted awful, if I hadn’t paid this ridiculous amount it would’ve been thrown away. Whilst the setup and views can’t be argued with, the prices are just too high for such low quality.

We stumbled upon this high quality, friendly beach-side cafe/takeaway and were absolutely delighted with the experience. OK, the lovely sunny weather helped with the ambience but the quality of the coffee and food and the friendly service were unquestionable. We enjoyed bacon and sausage sandwiches on fresh bread buns, with optional egg, sauces etc, and the young grandchildren enjoyed their ice creams and snacks. The cakes looked delicious, even though we didn’t have room for them on this occasion. We learned that the management are concerned to use the best ingredients and are very willing to accommodate dietary and allergy requirements. There’s a small pay and display (£2 for 2 hours) car park adjacent and, whilst the route down to the cafe requires a bit of careful navigation, it’s well worth the journey. Alternatively, I guess it would make a very pleasant 20 minute walk along the beach from Abersoch.

Went here on numerous occasions as it’s a nice walk down the beach and back. The first morning we had a ‘breakfast in a box’ which was well a mixture of a sausage, thick bacon, a poached egg and beans. There was also some slightly undercooked tomatoes and also spinach. It was a different and tried to give a new take on a healthier and more environmentally friendly option with a cardboard box and wooden cutlery. The fork needs to be steel though as the wooden ones are too flimsy. The breakfast was ok but didn’t fulfil me if I’m honest. After that we only went there for coffees. The toilet situation is odd as it’s behind a ‘no entry’ gate and also has a sign saying no entry on the door. I heard it being referred to as a staff toilet so maybe in the summer (when the nearby beach toilets are open), customers can’t use it? It’s a long walk from the main beach car park to have a meal and then not being able to go to the toilet for the long walk back so I think they need to make it clearer that this toilet is acceptable to use for customers. It does look like you are going into a ‘staff only’ area as there are no toilet signs there.

Mickey's boatyard is now run by The Little Tearooms. James and Carron have done an amazing renovation over the winter! It looks brilliant, more tills and covid safety measures which make you feel safe but still incredibly warmly welcomed. We visited a couple of times during March. First for breakfast while out walking and the second was on Mother's Day for cake and coffee! (We had seen an offer on Facebook and who can resist cake and a walk on the beach right?) The food was superb on both occasions. We had bacon and egg roll, pancakes and eggs Benedict on our first visit, the ingredients were beautifully fresh and of high quality. The cakes we had on Mother's day were the absolutely scrumptious millionaires shortbread and when I mentioned that I wanted to take some lemon, blueberry welsh cakes home for my neighbour, the kind lady behind the till packaged them up with a little pot of clotted cream for me. My neighbour was thrilled to see a lovely Mother's Day treat waiting at her doorstep, it really made her day, so a huge huge thank you for that. Every time we visit, we are always given exceptional service and should we have to wait for the delicious food (it's not a mass produced fast food joint like mcds you know!!) Well where better to wait, take in the amazing scenery and fresh sea air, it's good for the soul.

I'm not overly worried about myself but we all have a responsibility to ensure that we don't go into another lockdown. I have to say at Mickeys they have got the safety measures spot on, and I never feel like I am putting myself or my family at risk by having to queue close to anyone. As a family we go as often as we can and LOVE the food, literally my daughter talks about the breakfast pancakes like its a long lost family member. Have visited a couple of times on this trip and enjoyed the experience. However today we were refused service for not having masks. I understand that the law has changed and that masks are now compulsory indoors (although the lean to premises are hardly indoors!) but there were about a billion ways the staff could have handled this better. Instead of just dismissing us, they could have taken our order to the counter for us (there was no-one else waiting to be served). To be honest I could have even shouted our order to the counter from where we stood outside. It was truly ridiculous. They are obviously doing well if they can afford to turn away £30 of sales on a quiet Monday lunch without making any attempt to accommodate their customers. We are here for another week and a half and would probably have spent another good couple of hundred pounds with them on lunches and snacks during this time, but not now. Very poor customer service.

Love this place.High quality local produce and friendly staff. But please, please keep your website opening hours updated. We have just walked a considerable distance with children, pushchairs and dogs to find that you are closed, even though we checked your website before starting off that stated you are open.

I visited last month, I had a bacon and egg buttie and it was absolutely delicious. Every aspect of it. The bacon, the egg and even the bread was delicious. I highly recommend.

We have walked our dog along the beach to Mickeys most mornings of our holiday and it’s been a real treat. Their breakfast butties are simply fantastic; large, warm, fresh baps lightly toasted and loaded with sausage, bacon, egg and other delights (Bloody Mary ketchup a must try). Everything very CoVid safe and the cardboard box everything arrives in feels heavy enough to be quite exciting before you’ve even looked inside. Well done guys, you have coaxed our tech-addict kids out of bed each morning and turned them on to the delights of the peninsula...and bacon! Highly recommended.

Been coming to Mickeys for a few years now and the new incarnation this year "The Little Tea Rooms" is magnificent! We have been 3 or 4 times this August and its been a delight every time. A particular favourite of mine was the 'surf and turf' special a couple of weeks ago which was half a lobster and a fantastically cooked sirloin steak with a really interesting home made chimichuri. Im a bit surprised to read a couple of negative reports on here recently which do seem to be a little unfair! Ive had the sausage rolls and I love them ! Unlike most sausage rolls which are usually more roll than sausage I think the fact that its an actual sausage rather than some baked pulp is a great idea and you can actually taste the sausage - also they are on display in a cabinet on the counter so you can see what you are buying. As for drinks, we went earlier today just for drinks and had the option of ginger beer, cloudy lemonade, a fizzy elderflower juice and about 4 or 5 other interesting options that I cant remember now, but all Welsh produce. On top of all that lovely attentive staff who could describe ,in detail, all the options (including lots of kids sandwich options which I note are all listed on the website). Not surprised at all that they often sell out. We love it, but get there early, they do sell out!

A local landmark. As good food as you’ll find anywhere! Handling Covid-19 well but understandably busy at peak times. Hopefully the seating area can open again soon.

Firstly the positives: friendly staff, great views and good Covid precautions. The menu sounded nice, if a little pretentious, but not very child friendly (unless your kids like toasties). Having been a fan of Mickey’s for a number of years, we were left disappointed. This was our first visit under the new management and our expectations were high. There was a long queue, which is to be expected given it’s location, reputation and the Covid restrictions - not to mention that it was 1pm on a Saturday. We had no complaints at all about this and the staff kept us updated and thanked everyone for their patience. When we got to the front, our first choices had run out, as had our 2nd and 3rd. We eventually found something they had - a sandwich, a sausage roll and a meat pie. These were served in boxes with no frills. The sandwich was good and the filling generous - fortunately as it ended up feeding 3! The only negative was the cost and the lack of brown bread option - only ciabatta. The sausage roll was abysmal - think cocktail sausage with pastry scarf. My husband actually laughed out loud when he took it out of the bag as he thought it was a joke and I’d cut the rest off!The pie was more potato soup than meat in gravy and the pastry was too dry to eat - even the dogs struggled. Finally the cold drinks - San Pellegrino or erm San Pellegrino. Fine if you like them and don’t mind paying more for one than you do in a pub. £1.50 for a can of still water was a shocker too. The food cost is extortionate roo - £8.50 for a takeaway sandwich? You can get a lovely chicken souvlaki with fries and salad for £7.50 at the Warren’s new beachfront restaurant - and that’s the eat in price. They need a better selection of unpretentious and child friendly food. What made Mickey’s great was the simplicity - bacon or sausage rolls, milkshakes, ice cream bar etc - the whole family loved it. Two of my kids couldn’t find anything to order here as they don’t eat bread or pastry. It’s such a shame as they have all the makings of a lovely place—and it’s great that they’re showcasing local ingredients and produce. I hope they take customer comments on board and make it the success it should be.

Been regular in Abersoch pretty much all my life and love the location of this cafe. Great spot and nice to either walk or drive to (via sea also) as a destination. Also to add really nice people running it and all local produce, which is great to see them supporting. However, was a fan of the simple, tasty and good portioned menu that was there before change in ownership, but now it’s pushing more gourmet style at eat-in prices. Tbh looked nice on paper but by 1pm on Sat lunch already selling out of fillings, despite the queue being really no busier than at any other time I’ve been. Only bread option is ciabatta; pies weren’t very ‘full’; and gourmet sausage rolls are really anything but - 4” chipolata only very partially covered with a few strands of lattice pastry. On the last I was actually quite insulted, so having written-off my lunch and wishing I’d queued in the village or popped into the golf club as I walked past, I gave it to the dogs who thoroughly enjoyed it. Additionally, only fizzy soft drinks are San Pellegrino, which I do like, but only wanted a Diet Coke, which they don’t stock, plus their still water only comes in a can - odd and tasted odder. Never like to give poor feedback and I understand the pre-11:30 brekkie menu is still good and it’s popular as a tea / coffee house, but as an outdoor, sit on the wall / beach kind of place it’s not offering what I’d expect nor anything as an alternative to what you can grab from sandwich bar, etc in village. Will go again for location, etc but not as a lunchtime destination.

We are long time fans of Mickeys, we’ve been visiting since it opened and it’s a highlight for whenever we are in the area to visit - that is, until now. We have visited twice since it’s been under new ownership and are really disappointed. The menu has changed completely, no lovely sandwiches, paninis, burgers - fresh milkshakes which have been replaced with box versions! On our second visit, I chose a goats cheese and apricot toastie (struggled to find something to chose if I’m honest!) and it was dreadful, there was hardly anything on it (see pics). I also had a tea, which was one step up from a thimble, their large version I found out was the size the previous owners had sold as the standard size. I really don’t understand why the new owners have chosen to change the format, the reason it’s built such a following is because of all the lovely homemade, rustic food - to replace this, plus their fabulous ice cream bar with small tubs of uninspiring flavours, makes no sense. So sorry to leave such a negative review, but we are so disappointed and won’t be going back

Mickey’s has always been a great spot and it still is. The menu and quality of food is excellent. Their COVID policy felt very comfortable. A computer glitch - which can happen to anyone - meant we had a long wait, but the staff dealt with this in exemplary fashion and were obviously truly apologetic. Go on, walk along the beach to Mickey’s, it’s well worth it! We’ll come again - and again and again!

Our first visit to the cafe at Mickey’s boatyard and beach. And we’ll definitely come here again! The cafe is called “The Little Tea Rooms” and run by lovely couple Carron and James and their team. The menu offers a pleasant choice of breakfasts until 11.30, with sandwiches, toasties and salads for lunch. The tea is apparently blended on-site. Coffee is freshly ground. There is real focus on local suppliers to showcase Welsh produce (see my photograph). The views of the bay are beautiful and we enjoyed watching the yachts and other boats cruising to and fro.Their COVID-19 set-up is very organised with one way system and credit card payment preferred. Worth finding! Set your satnav to LL53 7EU. Head west out of Abersoch, and follow the brown signs to “Mickey’s”. The lanes in the final mile are narrow, so allow extra time for passing.

After reading the reviews, we thought Mickey's was going to great! We ordered the veggie sausage barmcake, which sadly had three underdone sausages and completely inedible. We also had the pancakes with fruit, they were hot and cold in some places; the pancakes looked grey which was very off putting! After two bites, that was it! We left quickly with all the food still on the table. If I'm being honest, i don't know how it's still going, none of the food seemed fresh! We won't be back!

The location is atmospheric and the staff are welcoming. The hot drinks are based on Dwyfor coffee etc which is rather bitter and weak, but it gets everywhere, so can't be avoided. Breakfast items are excellent.

Visited several times in 2018 - good baguettes at lunchtime with decent amount of quality filling, at "reasonable" - for Abersoch - prices (i.e. quite pricey.) Visited once in August 2019. Prices had significantly increased, and the quality of the baguette filling was not as good. If the standards had been the same as in 2018, we would have been back - as it was, that was our only visit.

took advantage of a quieter time to visit and wasn’t disappointed. Had family visiting so wanted to impress them. We had two beef baguettes(staff recommendation) which were delicious and Helen had goats cheese salad which was much bigger in portion than earlier in season and tasty. Family loved it. Well done Mickeys.

Lovely location visited for breakfast but just missed the breakfast serving so ended up ordering lunch. Posters say lunch served from 11:30 but we had to wait till 12 to order. All ordered steak baguettes which were great! Would recommend as lovely little spot over looking the beach!

We stopped here for breakfast twice, having been disappointed by the service at another establishment. The breakfast rolls are tasty, especially the sausages, and both the tea and coffee were good. Fair prices and very friendly service. Outdoor seating where you can eat your food whilst enjoying the beautiful views of Llanberis and its surroundings. Also does delicious cakes, milkshakes and hot chocolate. Highly recommended.

I'm actually gutted to be writing this review as we thought we had found a good haunt when we first tried last week. 2 adults & 2 children all had a lovely lunch time meal the previous week so we rebooked for the 2 adults for an evening meal the following weekend. The starter was lovely for both of us but we both ordered fillet steak for our main and I don't know what meat it was but it certainly wasn't a beef steak. It didn't look like one, taste like one or even cut like one. I was genuinely gutted as it has put me off going back again because I feel like it's just rude to expect somebody not to notice and left feeling like we've been totally ripped off. You don't order a fillet steak if you don't know exactly what to expect on your plate so the audacity to think you can pull that off is unbelievable. I can't complain about the service, both times it has been spot on, lovely women but unfortunately we won't be returning after been served that.

On a recent visit to Barmouth we found this little Gem of a place that is open on Sundays. There was a special board out side and it was the Cheese and Onion pie that drew us in . Both my husband and me had this and it came with new potatoes and salad . It was delicious and very reasonably priced . We were naughty and were too tempted by the delicious homemade sweets and puds they had to offer . I had the jam and coconut cake and my husband opted for the apple pie. They were presented lovely with fruit and a pot of cream on the side. The staff were friendly and attentive. Will definitely be returning next time we are in Barmouth
