Went in just for takeaway drinks, staff not very pleasant didn't even acknowledge me stood at bar and made me think they didn't deserve my business. Doesn't take much to smile and be thankful to customers.

Absolutely suberb tap house, forget the two previous reviews on this site. We spent seven days in barmouth, five of them we visited this brilliant tap house and would have been more but they have to close two days to brew. Excellent mix of ales superbly crafted, I even purchased the tee shirt lol. If you get chance pay a visit.

A real shame….seems to have all the credentials for an enjoyable experience…..self brewed ales and spirits, pleasant seating environment….what could go wrong…..?? The reception you receive is beyond frosty, the “gentleman “ behind the bar couldn’t make it any more obvious that he would much rather anybody other than the few locals who no doubt frequent the place all year just walked on by. Never again

Should have made for a great afternoon - as the beer, cider and spirit selection is superb. A frosty atmosphere would be an understatement . Was it because we weren’t local? Or came as a family? Ashame! But should either advertise itself as a place for locals wanting a quiet pint, or follow the lead of the majority of the UKs microbreweries and be welcoming to all. Judging from past reviews, I await the response from the proprietors with bated breath… In the meantime, we we’ve gone over the road for a welcoming pint.

We visited this small bar/ distillery while staying in Barmouth and it soon became our favourite, dog friendly as well serving dog meals with all proceeds going to the dogs trust. There is small selection of snacks available scotch egg etc, served with a smile, but the main reason for going has to be the own brewed beer & gin , which you will spoilt for choice with, after visiting once our dog wouldn't let us walk past, so we had to oblige. There is well stocked shop selling there own produce so great for gifts as well

Visited on two afternoons whilst on holiday. This is a bijou place with a few tables and old fashioned metal tractor seats as bar stools (also a couple of tables outside). It serves excellent beers, gins and some great alcohol free beers. Bottles are on sale to take out (£11 for 3) including meads and ciders with a great choice. Sells upmarket crisps & nuts and delicious bar snacks e.g. Pork pies, pickled eggs on platters. Good atmosphere. One gripe, owners are not very friendly or chatty.

We dropped on this little gem when caught I the rain at Barmouth prior to our journey back across the Mmawdach Estuary. It appeared to be a small micro brewery and we welcomed the chance for a refreshing beer away from the weather. We were a party of six and a dog and we were welcomed inside by a friendly but no way pretentious lady. Drinks were good, some cask beers and lots of bottled ciders and ales. We then spotted the menu, pan fried cod, local Cawl homemade burgers. Too good to be true. We ordered our food with little nibbles on the side like a few scampi and salt and pepper potatoes. I am not exaggerating when I say it was all of restaurant quality. This is far from a micro brewery that does a bit of cafe food on the side.My compliments went to the Chef and also the lady who looked after us.As you can see from my previous reviews, a place has to get my Spidey Senses tingling in order for me to commit to a review (whether positive or constructive). Whether it's for a beer or nibbles or a fantastic meal, do not miss this gem. PS beers about 3.80 pint, pan fried cod, chips, peas and salad 10.50, nibbles about 2.50. Brilliant value.

Myself and my wife popped in here last night 21/02/2020 for a quick bite to eat and to sample some of the locally brewed ales. There were a lot of ales on offer and all sold at a reasonable price.I opted for the lamb burger & a pint deal, whilst my wife opted for the steak and black velvet pie. After ordering the food was with us in around 15 minutes and the presentation was good. From the first bite into my burger my tastebuds were scintillating and they just wanted more, without a shadow of a doubt this is the best burger I have ever tasted. The owners informed me that the burgers are from the local butchers in Barmouth so I will be paying a visit today.I did also try 1 or 4 of the ales whilst visiting but there were far to many for me to get through although they do sell bottles for you to take away.We will definitely be returning to this little bistro in the near future xx

Lucky enough to get in to eat at Myrddins Bar Caffi as space is limited and I see from other reviews that it's very popular, sometimes to the point of having to queue! My husband and I and our two dogs were welcomed in and shown to a table where we could tuck the dogs out of the way. We were a bit spoiled for choice with the menu, so many things we liked but I had the pork and apple burger and my husband had the lamb stew. Both were delicious. The lady who served us was attentive and we were not rushed at all. The meal was so good that we decided to also eat there the following day, (chicken roast and hot dog this time!), again delicious and I have to say great value. A bonus for us is that it was dog friendly and there was also a dog menu for which the cost of the food is donated to Dog's Trust. Definitely a place to go, get there early to avoid disappointment or queuing. Thanks to the staff for the lovely meals and adding an enjoyable couple of days to our holiday in Barmouth!

We always try and visit this place when in Barmouth but because it's quite small and gets very busy (which is a good sign!) we're not always successful. We managed to get in on our most recent stay and once again were glad we did! It's a dog friendly establishment which is great for us as we had a furry friend with us - you can buy a bowl of chicken and gravy for a £1 for them! There's a wide selection of food and drink, especially ales, most of which are brewed in Wales. Unfortunately the Apache was off when we visited and I love the stuff! I opted for a chilli beef burger and my wife had sausage and mash. Generation portions, tasty food, friendly service - what's not to like!

Arrived at opening to be met by a queue. We were given a table outside. Perfect. However, then the owner put a water bowl for dogs at our feet even though we didn't have a dog. My fears were realised when random idiots paused to let their dogs drink at our feet as we were eating. The bowl then spilled. I honestly have no idea how! Starters were terrible. Breaded prawns and jalapeños. Both obviously of the pre-made and frozen variety. Salad was passable. So 10 quid down before we start. The mains of plaice and haddock were nothing special. The fish were cooked well, but the accompaniments were dire. Frozen chips and frozen peas. Doesn't anybody cook their own chips anymore? Service was wobbly too. You have to queue up at the tiny bar to order your food and to get drinks. No table service. All in all, one to miss. How this place has got so many 5 stars is beyond me.

We stayed in Barmouth for 3 nights and ate here on two occasions. The first time was the best with the Welsh Cawl and Steak & Moose pies being superb. My stepdaughter usually does not pass comment on food - it is simply sustenance - but without prompting she said about how good the food was. The food wasn't quite so good the second time round (sea bass was a bit tasteless) but still very enjoyable. The range of ales and Welsh ciders (we went for the latter) was also excellent and they were reasonably priced too. The only two issues with Myrddins are the space (you cannot always get a table) and the hours as sometimes you have to rush to finish which is always a shame with a good meal, but I would have no hesitation in returning.

We had visited here a couple of years ago and this was our first visit since. It was so good, we ate here 2 nights running while holidaying in Barmouth.

Had a lovely weekend in Barmouth and we must say that we were very lucky to select Myrddins Bar on Friday evening for our meal and drinks. It was our first visit here and the fish of the day (sea bream) was wonderful and the chicken balti was superb. Very nice lady giving great service and a hero in the kitchen.

Popped in for lunch and liquid refreshment after a walk. Lovely selection of ales whilst the wife likes the Breacon gin. Liver & onions and tuna potato longboats were both enjoyed with good service.

Had steak and moose pie. Fantastic food - pie was in a pot with a great puff-pastry lid, and oh so rich and tasty! Of my accompanying choices I chose chunky chips and I think the mash was swede and sweet potato? It was all really good quality food (large chunks of meat too) and I left feeling full. They have many craft beers and ciders and apparently brew on the premises too. I had mango cider. Yep, mango. It tasted a lot like both cider and mangoes (as it should). All in all - a wonderful nice meal at a great price and I am looking forward to visiting again and trying other menu items. :D

We always pop in Myrddins whilst in Barmouth. Great food and great prices. The Faggots are especially good 😀 The better half had the mushroom wellington which was equally as tasty.

We stopped here for breakfast twice, having been disappointed by the service at another establishment. The breakfast rolls are tasty, especially the sausages, and both the tea and coffee were good. Fair prices and very friendly service. Outdoor seating where you can eat your food whilst enjoying the beautiful views of Llanberis and its surroundings. Also does delicious cakes, milkshakes and hot chocolate. Highly recommended.

I'm actually gutted to be writing this review as we thought we had found a good haunt when we first tried last week. 2 adults & 2 children all had a lovely lunch time meal the previous week so we rebooked for the 2 adults for an evening meal the following weekend. The starter was lovely for both of us but we both ordered fillet steak for our main and I don't know what meat it was but it certainly wasn't a beef steak. It didn't look like one, taste like one or even cut like one. I was genuinely gutted as it has put me off going back again because I feel like it's just rude to expect somebody not to notice and left feeling like we've been totally ripped off. You don't order a fillet steak if you don't know exactly what to expect on your plate so the audacity to think you can pull that off is unbelievable. I can't complain about the service, both times it has been spot on, lovely women but unfortunately we won't be returning after been served that.

On a recent visit to Barmouth we found this little Gem of a place that is open on Sundays. There was a special board out side and it was the Cheese and Onion pie that drew us in . Both my husband and me had this and it came with new potatoes and salad . It was delicious and very reasonably priced . We were naughty and were too tempted by the delicious homemade sweets and puds they had to offer . I had the jam and coconut cake and my husband opted for the apple pie. They were presented lovely with fruit and a pot of cream on the side. The staff were friendly and attentive. Will definitely be returning next time we are in Barmouth

Lovely little dog friendly cafe in the heart of the village. Warm welcome by the host and his friendly staff. Typical Welsh weather and unfortunately the biffolding doors were closed in July however will visit again when the sun is out Diolch
