Not eaten at this chippy before, but have to say that they are probably the best chips I've had in a long time.
The establishment is clean and decorated nicely and the staff are friendly. The food arrived exactly as ordered and in a timely manner.
The food was cooked perfectly and the chips and fish were not greasy or oily and were full of flavour. Shame I don't live closer or I'd be there more often.
Free parking in a clean environment. Busy on a drizzly midday, but clean tables were available. We got a window view of two very very big gulls attacking several cars windscreen wipers, roof boxes, stowed bikes and wing mirrors. It was entertaining if nothing else. Christ knows what they thought they were going to eat. Drive-through cars weren't on the taster menu (remember for next visit). Food was hot, as ordered and handed over with that special McD's grinded smile. We enjoyed being processed through, people watching and looking at each others meals. Worthy of a visit for studying Gulls in the Modern World.
Thought we'd give it the benefit of the doubt just once...never again.
Even the basics were terrible...noodles,rice,chips...all tasteless and stale.
Let alone the DF chicken strips...contained about 10 pence worth of rubbery meat.
Not to mention a terrible effort at making a basic mushroom omelette...watered down egg cooked in meat flavoured oil.
I won't be giving them another penny.
Picked up family member from a work meal did not get out of car for 5 minutes then left but was charged for non payment parking. When disputed with Smart Parking their online system did not recognise my car registration after trying several times. Next thing received a letter from Debt Recovery who have no remorse so £150 was due.
Disgraceful having this arrangement for a Hotel/Pub which detracts from the location and best avoided.
A charming inn, newly refurbished after 3 years. We were literally the first customers across the threshold. Very charming bar staff; range of light bites and a good range of beers on offer. Paul, the general manager, took the time to chat to us about the Inn's renovation and what plans the owners have. It's all brilliantly put together and smart inside but not pretentious. We wish them every success.
Within minutes of entering we were given a choice of seating types, menus, and glasses with a jug of iced water with lemon. 4 of us had the 3 course lunch menu which is so reasonably priced. Got immediate answers to all our questions about gluten free and about how hot spicy dishes were. All our food was served quickly and was hot and really tasty. Loved the salted caramel cheesecake. One free birthday main, and an additional free ice cream scoop with a 🔥 lit candle. Wonderful service from Jack, but embarrassing singing from my sisters !
We ate here last night 23/04/2025 as we were staying locally. Never again, kebabs were not good undercooked and had no flavour. 2 of the 4 of us have been really poorly all night and today and the was the only thing we ate. I would avoid this place at all costs
