Harvest Moon Chinese Takeaway in Conwy

The food from here was truly awful. This was one of the worst Chinese takeaways I've had. The chicken was squeaky, like rubber, and the crispy chili beef was soggy, and it came in more of a gravy than a chili sauce. Don't do it. Don't eat here. Unless you just want chips in which case knock yourself out cause those were fine. Guess it's hard to get those wrong? I would rather skip dinner than eat here again.

Soggy crispy beef. Stale soft prown crackers. Doughy chicken balls. Gloopy curry sauce. Sadly the generic iceland deep fried spring rolls were the best thing. If there were local competition they wouldnt survive. Friendly service though and they deliver quickly.

I enjoyed my visit here and enjoyed my meal and I have every confidence that the new owners will be very successful

Unfortunately the chips here were hard and NOT cooked properly.They cannot do the basics & serve cooked chips!They are frozen chips anyway! Also poor customer service 😡Avoid 👎👎

Basic chips curry and rice hard chips, rang them to have the phone put down on me so decided to take them back was told to leave by a very abrupt you girl why do they think it’s ok to take your money and feed you absolute garbage will never go back disgusting place and attitude one circle is too much

Used this Chinese for years but has got worst, we never get everything we order and when we went back this evening to get the rest of our order they told Us very rudely we hadn’t ordered it and must pay more to receive the rest. Very disappointed.

We made a large order for our family camping at Platts Farm, we enjoyed our meal and portion size was great!

orderd a special fried rice with barbcuee sauce When it arrived no sauce just dry rice with a litle meat. Dreadful this take away is the only one in the village and so can get away with serving crap it is the same as the cinnomom indian take away in the same village these takeaways have no coemption and therefore can serve up crap food that bears no resebelance to decent asian food

Use this Chinese for 20 years but the food has got worse, last three meals have been very poor. Over charged on home delivery this time and food missing on the order. Called to complain and got fobbed off by a very rude young girl. Didn't receive the rest of the order either. Will be going somewhere else in future.

Called ahead on a Friday evening, picked up vegetarian mushroom omelette, sweet and sour pork and a portion of noodles. All ready on time, well cooked, and very tasty. Can’t complain at all. Regular customer.

First we were welcomed by a very angry man (I'm guessing the owner) and then we had the pleasure (not) to eat whatever was prepared in the kitchen. The food: ribs, chicken and prawns all tasted the same. I don't understand why you have almost 200 positions in the menu if they taste all the same.

Crisby duck was not cooked properly and was very fatty

Can only give 4 as only had a bag of absolutely wonderful chips. Will be trying more of the menu

Very disappointing, I will Not be returning here.. Lost my custom for sure! Staff are very rude, short old lady moans if you late but every single time ive visited in 13 years they are Always making me wait at least 10 minutes longer after phoning ahead to order! The old man cant speak anything but his native language, So why live in wales and have a business you might think?! So he grunts.. The ribs are bland and the chips are not cooked for long enough..they are anaemic! Make up your own mind but word of warning. I never use these sites but lastnight was the last time i deal with these people. Unbelievable! Im paying them and they make you feel as if your the problem. I dont need your food coz there is nicer at happy house and they Smile!

Really good ribs, plenty of meat and tasty. Mains (Pork Satay and Special Foo Yung) were a good size, plenty of bamboo shots and water chestnuts. Complimentary prawn crackers were an added bonus.

Just moved to village and thought I'd try a Chinese. Really rude gentleman took my order on the phone. Food ( prawn and veg curry ) was greasy with horrible aftertaste. And vegetables were just onions, mushrooms and peas, no chinese veg. I think same young man served me as took my order, so rude! Will not be going again. Shame...would have been a regular customer.

Rang up, 1 portion of chicken balls sweet and sour sauce 1 portion of spring rolls after a long shift, something quick. Efficient service on the phone, £7.80 and 10 minute collection. Collected within 15 minutes. Got home to taste the sauce, the only way to describe it was Sour & Mouthwash... rang up said I was going to bring it back, took it back - very rude young lad, said it tastes normal etc, offered a fresh one even made me feel intimidated and said “here’s the old one and here’s the fresh one” when bringing out the new sauce. Back home... sauce tasted exactly the same if not worse. I proceed to take it back, they were having none of it. “The chef said it tastes fine, we can’t give you a refund” after 10 minutes of bickering he finally gave in to a refund. What a shame, when we order from Harvest Moon we always like to treat ourselves, support the business and spend anywhere between £50-100. They tell you to support local in these present times but unfortunately Harvest Moon, my custom will be going elsewhere.

Always provides nice food at a good price. regularly use and nearly always very good. Good size portions and nice and fresh

I ordered prawn dish when I got back home I noticed that the prawns still had their dietry tract in place they had not been cleared when I took this back to them they started shouting in their dialect and then being very offensive and Insisting their was nothing wrong with them

Really good dishes, lots to choose from of course. Food tasty and large portions! Helpful when we asked if we could change a recipe/dish. Don’t normally stray from our regular Chinese back home but glad we did!

Proprietors are really friendly and all products are cooked fresh to order. We went here twice during our stay in the area. There are a few tables to eat in but we had takeaway.

We had Lemon Chicken with Egg Fried Rice and Char Sui Fried Rice. In a word - awesome !! Highly recommended

Had a takeaway whilst staying locally at Platts Farm Campsite, its within walking distance and was recommended by locals we know.Food was really tasty and portion sizes were good. We are a family of 5 (2 adults and 3 teenagers) a chinese at home costs £50+ this was £29.10 amazing value. Only downside is cash only but there’s a cashpiint within walking distance. Really glad we tried here.

Saturday night takeaway. About 20 minute wait which was fine. The crispy chilli beef was lovely, though pork balls very tough. Hot, flavoursome food.

We regularly order from Harvest moon. Always very friendly and food is always delivered quickly. Rarely if something is forgotten they will always go back and deliver it. Food is always lovely. Thank You!

Good quality, tasty food (chicken noodles were a bit bland but apart from that very tasty!) They were very busy and the guy at the desk seemed very stressed which caused orders to be wrong (not his fault just understanding I imagine!)I was however annoyed that they don't accept debit card payments

Had takeaway dinner from here one night during my stay at a B & B in town. Found it to be quite good and very reasonably priced. Quick to prepare and friendly service. Plenty of menu choices.

The staff are always polite and friendly. We usually telephone our order in advance. The food is cooked to order. Can rely on Harvest Moon for consistent tasty food and a decent price.

Had a great takeaway meal with friends last month. The food has improved vastly of late and now I have no hesitation in recommending the food to all.

Esta fue una comida perfectamente bien. La espera por la comida fue un poco largo, pero que era bastante tranquilizador, ya que era más probable que fresco. Teníamos un champiñón foo foo yung, especial y especial con curry yung arroz frito con huevo. Todos eran muy simpáticos. No es la mejor comida china que he probado pero es el mismo nivel que la mayoría de comida para llevar. Mi única crítica es que habría estado bien ver algunos tofu en el menú para comer verduras.

This is a very poor take away only one in the village and am very disappointed in the food it is very basic

If you hungry and there is nothing else available it ok but don't expect to much.The previous owner was always polite,friendly had a good sense of humour and was part of the community,he is missed for his cooing and friendliness,sadly this owner has none of these skills.If you want food cooked with a passion and incredible taste with a reputation second to none go across the road to the ''Cinnamon Indian Balti Tandoori Takeaway'',now there is a bloke who knows how to run a business,he get's to know all his customers on a personal level and you can even see them cooking it through a window,Harvet moon could learn a lot from them.....

The food isn't too bad...but nowhere near the standard it was when it first opened. The man cooking looks un-washed and is very abrupt when he occasionally appears from the kitchen. Do yourself a favour and go 2 miles down the road to the Chinese...

This Chinese is a nice local Chinese. I've eaten a lot and been to a lot of Chinese eateries +take outs including in China/Japan. After my big move this is now my local. Though it has been known to use a lot of salt in...

Very poor. Not recommended food has often been cold and undercooked on two separate occasions. Not going back!

Always enjoy the food from Harvest Moon. Special Batter Balls in Sweet and Sour Sauce is delicious. Never had a problem nice food nice people and they deliver!

We visited the area with a large group of friends. We decided to get a takeaway one night but wasn't too sure the best place to go, so we asked a locals opinion on this restaurant......he replied "Don't go anywhere near that place they fry everything in sh1t"

Well this place needs cleaning work and food safety management work, Looks like batter been out long time as it started to turn brown. Staff was handling raw food then cooked with no hand hygiene. Tables where sticky and dirty.

Went there for a take away lunch on Saturday, had some fish and chips and chicken nuggets for my son. It's not the first time I had something to eat there and it was always a bit greasy, there was always thick yellow oil on the paper holding the fish and the chips, but this time it was perfect no oil at all, I don't know if they used a new oil or if I've been lucky and they just clean the fryer and put clean oil. The only critic it's the batter with the chicken, it was almost the same volume as the meat, way to thick. Will go back again, hope the oil will stay the same.

We always use this Chinese and I live in spitting distance of four. Try the salt and pepper checken wings!

After a hard day house clearig, decided to go for a take away. First choice was the Indian however when I fould that people had been waiting for 20 minutes just to place their order I went for the nearest option. Ordered the food, and served by a very pleasant young lady who gave me a 20 minute window to collect the food (thats about 2 pints worth in the pub up the road in my book!!). Came back after 20 mins and there was the food, which was very good indeed. Had the special with chilli and garlic and Mrs B had curry sauce and chips. Both meals were good sized portions and were extremely tasty. Not sure if it has changed hands since the other reviews were left, but I couldn't fault it.

Don't mistake the chippy for the Chinese, the chippy is great, no complaints.The Chinese, owned by the same family I think, is not great. The prices are good the food not so much, I find it to be a little bland and I'm not a fan of egg shell in my foo yung. Frozen chips! They own a great chippy, why use frozen chips! If you can't get to them they do deliver, but personally I'd rather get in the queue for the Indian.

I visited this chinese about 20 years ago and vowed never to go back. It changed hands a few years ago and I tried it again, swore never to go back. Then I think it was taken over again, but I didn't go back until last week because I was very wary and hadnt heard any good things about it. However late night visitors meant we needed food quickly and so I repressed my reservations and went up there for a take-out. YUK. Skin and bone stuck to the chicken, sauce tasted as though it was made with cheap powder and water mixed not very well. Horrible. I will NOT ever go back.
