Really good food with very reasonable prices

Food portions are massive delivery driver was brilliant and the food was nice and hot on delivery

We ordered the pork in kung pow sauce, it basically tasted like siracha sauce mixed with mayo.. it was not a runny sauce.. the pork tasted like just fat.. the duck in ok sauce was soggy duck skin with hair attached.. I have never complained or not been able to eat Chinese food before but on this occasion I rang to let them know.. Lesson learned End of the day avoid and go to another take away.. As unbelievable as it is I gave it to a homeless person who thanked me but asked if it wasfrom sunshine I said yes he said he refused to eat it

I was skeptic about ordering a take away from here after reading some of the reviews but to be fair we ordered 2 meals and they were both perfect so I gave no complaints at all about our food

I stopped off at this chineese one evening after a day out at the beach and was not disappointed. Cash only!! Pros: Food was very hot and fresh Sweet and sour chicken was amazing Noodles plenty of flavour and spice Not shy on adding the cashew nuts in like some places Very friendly girl taking order Didn't have to wait too long for food Was plenty of other customers coming in and out which is normally a good sign Free bag of prawn crackers Cons: Didn't really like the chicken and sweetcorn soup I ordered - ended up chucking it.

Used to be one of the best chicken chow mein dishes .not anymore .avoid . Its now the worst .

Half decent grub and quick service..

Until this year I would of voted this the best around for service and consistency of food quality. Unfortunately through expansion that has dropped considerably. I wish them the best and thank them for lovely food over many years but I cannot recommend them anymore 😢

Had lots of food over a couple of years. Had a few dodgy dishes off them previously out of a whole order, just put it down to bad luck/a one off. However, last week had a special fried rice that looked and tasted like it had been taken out of a dry plug hole from last week. We phoned and complained and they said they’d give us “free food” next time, (no specification) anyway, later that night, everyone that had eaten their VERY special fried rice was violently ill…. But my children (youngest 13 eldest 21) so obviously don’t listen to my opinion, decided to order again a week or two later, only to be met by a barrage of abuse for saying their food made us ill…. Avoid at all costs!🤮 Unfortunately there is not an option for zero or minus stars on here, so one star is being very very generous!

My brother and I can quite honestley say that this food is the worst. Don't eat it and for Gods sake let the dog have it because you can't eat it.

Wasnt like Chinese we had been to before, the sweet and sour chicken Cantonese style was nice however the beef curry was on the spicy side and made my partner a bit ill also the chips were like freezer chips not from a chippy like expected

I am impressed. I came on holiday to Wales with my kids, we ordered food from this place for nine people. The food was so nice and they gave very big portions - great value for money. Me and my family loved it and would definitely visit again! Lovely owners.

Takeaway delivery. Service ok not long wait for delivery. Had char Sui chow mien, not much char Sui pork in it and very salty, crispy spring rolls ok but no sweet & sour sauce dip also prawn toast had no dip either which othe Chinese give. Singapore fried rice and crab claw was ok.

Only called in for a portion of chips as seems to be the only chippy open. Had to wait 15 minutes after ordering so not impressed!

Unfortunately the food here is clearly bought in from a cash and carry and heated up in a wok , very bland with no flavour at all , apart from the extra salt they add. I have tried many things on there menu before giving this review , there bbq spare ribs come in a greasy brown liquid , there duck just taste of salt , there salt and pepper things just taste of salt and there rice , and noodle dishes where clearly frozen before cooking . i see peoples reviews say fast service and give 4 to 5 stars , this is because its cash and carry food , a Chinese weatherspoons take away and honestly this is not Chinese food its disgusting :(

Used Happy House as we were staying on local caravan site for wkend, chose meal for one which was plenty for the two of us, spring roll, spare ribs in a heavenly sauce ! Szechuan duck lovely and spicy and veg rice . Really recommend this takeaway .

Simply divine. Last minute decision to get Chinese. We ordered from happy house leaving happy customers. The food was hot, Well presented and more importantly so unbelievably tasty. Recommend 100% Happy new year. Stay safe xx

Fair quality of food. Not the best but neither the worst.

Really good food, ready in no time at all. I’m glad this is my local Chinese. Regarding Darren/Katie/Sue: whichever one of you it was that came in with no mask, ordered and was asked to wait for your food outside; you didn’t even let them know you’re exempt from wearing a mask, so were they supposed to know? They’re not mind readers. It’s no good showing me your COPD card on your way out. You even seemed glad that to be angry about it.

Plenty of food friendly service , But food pretty poor pancake rolls are the size of a tampon and have at most 2 beansprouts in them probably one of the worst Chinese meals I've had .

Had takeaway for four of us and as we wanted to eat at the beach the restaurant kindly gave us some plastic cutlery. Food excellent.

I'm a resident of Penmaenmawr, and a regular customer of happy house. Food is great but a couple of items were missing off my last order so phoned straight away after delivery to tell them. I was made to feel like I was lying and assured the deliver was packed correctly. Trying to explain to who I assume was the owner that items were missing almost fell on deaf ears. Eventually he said ok, I'll send them up now, still he sounded like he didn't beleive I was missing items off the over £30 order!! Items arrived within 10 minutes of the phone call but was significantly substandard and I can only guess they sent a rubbish portion because the still wouldn't accept they were wrong. Won't be using again as I felt really let down and they should treat customers better than that!!

We sampled the Happy House for the first time as a convenient stop after a busy day at work.We ordered salt and pepper chicken, lemon chicken, egg fried rice and salt and pepper chips with a side of onion rings.The chinese food was lovely, well cooked and not over-salty.The onion rings were standard buy frozen in a bag and pay 2.50 for 10 not very inspiring rings.The onion rings were cooked well but a bit pricey considering what they were.But do not let that put you off.... I repeat the Chinese fayre was brilliant.I wont be using just as a late stop off in future. There is a big menu to sample and, believe me, I will be doing!

Had a set meal for 4 people on weekend break in area last week, Food was good quality , good portions and lots of flavour , reasonably priced , delivery service was also prompt, will use again when next in Penmaenmawr

Do not use this Take Away. Food far to salty, some items well over cooked and all four of us was up much all night with stomach pains. They have a 5* rating for food, that is questionable!!

The chop suey rolls are the best I've had.

Used takeaway to feed 6 hungry walkers staying in area for the week. Everyone was happy with their food and they also did us a couple of fabulous fish and chip meals.Remember though to order one portion of chips for two as they give you loads.Ordered over phone and only had to wait a few minutes to collect on arrival. Glad we did this because it was busy at around 6.30pm on a Wednesday.

We phoned and ordered and were told it would be ready in twenty five minutes but it was forty five minutes so were sat around a long time. Food tasted alright though.

Loved the salt and pepper king prawns and chicken chow mein. The salt and pepper chicken wings were good too! Good service and pleasant staff.

We have recently moved into Penmaenmawr and we fancied a takeaway. My husband walked down to the takeaway and ordered our food. As the staff and chef learned of my onion allergy they then went above and beyond to make sure there were no traces of onion anywhere near my food. They changed the oil and cooked my meal in clean oil. I would really like to show my appreciation to attention to detail and to ensure my health wasn't risked. Well done Happy House!!

Me and my partner ordered chips and cheese and got a load of dry chips with barely any cheese. He asked for salt and vinegar on the chips and they were dry no salt or vinegar, awful experience

Usually 15 minutes if you call in your order, anyways great food, the salt and pepper chips are amazing. Sometimes you'll even get own crackers thrown in for free. Great service and lovely staff.

We chose dinner here after the Indian takeaway had gas problems and closed for the night. Chose the mix of starters (opting for a hot and spicy soup in place of one of the chicken ones) which was good value and diverse. The duck chow mein lacked any vegetables though, just noodles and meat (with sparse onions).. Could have been better. Squid in Szechuan sauce had ample squid, just a tad watery .. Needed some fried rice. Girls at the counter were nice enough, no complaints there! You get enough for two nights, but would be better to reduce the quantity for an enhancement in quality.

This Chinese take away is 5 star rated by the Food Agency I have been here many times and have never been let down by quality or quantity.

I collected an order and the manager (what she was claiming to be) look very in professional. All staff in their own clothes. Manager was not very old and had dark hair in pony tail, looked like she was rushed off her feet. Given herself lots to do including adding up receipts more than 5 times for their delivery guy. Rude and poor service. To top it off, got home and the food was awful, would not recommend.

Extensive menu perhaps too much, reasonable prices but i have to say one of the poorest quality of chinese food we have had. We left more than we ate. I wouldn't eat here again.

i dont like the food here at all, it is very poor, ver salty, they have no card facility so that makes it hard if you have no cash, probable one of the worst chinese takeaways

Has been very good but last few visits a bit disappointing. On one occasion free prawn crackers were not in the bag on reaching home, and on another the rice was over cooked and a bit slushy. So a bit hit and miss. If you're lucky the fayre is very good. But not guaranteed.

Food is as expected for a high street takeaway. Staff were polite and friendly. Waiting time was a bit long but not too bad. Pricing was good.

This used to be brilliant for all the duck dishes. But our last couple of visits have been disappointing. Good portions but the quality of food has been poor.

Lovely Chinese, good value and big portions. Absolutely love the seaweed from here!! Will be returning. Can also recommend the Kung pow duck, it's absolutely delicious

Sehr umfassende Auswahl an chinesischen Gerichten, bis hin zu anderen asiatischen Gerichten von benachbarten Ländern. Schneller Service, gutes Essen, warm bis zum Verzehr. Das Entenfleisch war sehr gut, von den Bambussprossen aber waren einige etwas hart. Die Sosse war sehr gut, der Reiss war entweder gekocht oder (wenn ich das richtig verstanden habe?) frittiert. Da hätte es etwas mehr Auswahl sein können. Aber ansonsten wirklich eine gute Auswahl und schmackhafte Gerichte. Beim nächsten Mal probieren wir gerne wieder mehr.

Had to wait for over an hour for order I had pre-booked on phone - it was heaving in there and still taking orders but obviously couldn't cope with the demand - orders coming out in wrong order and people waiting longer than me - complete shambles and food wasn't worth it!!!!!!!

Probamos el otro día, ya que no me apetece cocinar yo - era para poder comer dos veces con el generoso para repetir me llevaron a casa por un precio razonable, bien sazonada y no demasiado salado, pero un poco demasiado alto para que destaque.

No han sido aún en mí mismo, así que no puedo comentar sobre el personal, pero todo la familia ha traído a este lugar ha sido muy sabroso. Quizás poner un poco más de carne en algunos de los platos principales, pero aparte de eso estoy con ganas de probar algo nuevo desde el menú. Las raciones en general son bastante buenos, especialmente con cosas como fideos y arroz. Dar una oportunidad a este sitio, estoy pensando que sólo hambre ahora!

Una caída reciente decepcionante en estándares. Siempre nos hemos ido a casa feliz y ha sido muy contentos con nuestra comida para llevar, pero las dos últimas visitas se tradujo en la comida muy sosa. Un mixtos Curry curry en polvo solo sabía de pollo chow mein y necesitaba unos toques de salsa de soja para ser comestible, y consistía de fideos con algunas cosas de pollo, sin las verduras habituales.

La comida es buena, el personal es amable y muy rápido para dar la orden. Pero. . . He tenido que llamar gente en el pasado, porque incluso una pequeña cantidad de comida es muy caro. Así que trae un montón de dinero porque he contó cuánto se debe y me cobraron unos kilos extra.

Siempre nos pide de Aquí Aunque tenemos 2 China Local a nuestra casa! La comida es impecable! Satisfacer todas las necesidades de dieta sin quisquilloso!

Read the mixed reviews but decided to give it a try as several friends had said food was really good. They did not disappoint, phoned order - it was repeated back to me to ensure it was all okay, was told what bill would be, given order number and told how long it would take. It was ready as soon as we arrived to collect. Tasty, generous portions. Will definitely go back.

Food was horrendous and an hour late , vile vile would not recommend at all! Rude on the phone , no apologies , customers had been sat waiting for there takeaway food for over a hour and a half! Wasn't just us

Telephone order was repeated four times, they still got it wrong.Food was cold, I called to complain, at least the manager did the decent thing and have us a refund.

Visited twice now. Both times excellent meals. Too much for one but unfortunately my husband and I eat different meals so we always have to order 2. Always a friendly service.
