Kwong Chow Take Away in Conwy

This is just down the road from our house and handy for an easy dinner. Sadly they only do delivery, but we tried it. Some dishes are great, but the chicken legs were a bit disappointing. Can really recommend the sweetcorn and chicken soup.

We have always enjoyed food from Kwong Chow for years but lately (I'm not sure if its because they are so busy with orders due to lockdown) the ribs have arrived barely warm in a heated sauce twice now. The rest of the food was lovely as usual but please check the ribs before they go out.

Really impressed with the taste of the food and the portion size was just perfect and also the delivery driver was lovely

I’ve noticed this Chinese has recently been receiving 1* at the moment however I have been a regular here for many many years and it doesn’t disappoint. The chips were lovey and the sweet and sour chicken is fantastic. Will and always be 5* from me

Having been using this Take Away for a while now and the food is always excellent, have ordered a delivery a couple of times recently and the food always arrives hot and on time. Great Service

we ordered online at 5.09pm at 7pm it hadn't arrived so I rang. Was adv sorry didn't realise was such a big order will be another half hour. It finally arrived at 7.50pm. Overall the the rice and noodle dishes were OK but meat was too salty?we like salt but man it was inedible) the foo yung chicken wasn't cooked through and the egg was still runny inside. Disappointed 😞

me and the wife ordered our meals on saturday just gone and to be honest the food took a little while longer then expected to arrive, Never the less when we got our food its was a treat. Everything was hot and tasty and seeing as it was the only place open due to this coronavirus we were extremely satisfied with their service. we normally order from a closer takeaway but given the chance to try somewhere new and better we will be making this our new local :).

With everything that’s going on and it being the only chinese open, absolutely awful and has made me feel ill.

Absolute sewage. Wouldn’t even give it to the dog. Straight in the bin and ordered a pizza. Avoid like the plague

Absolutly love this Chinese, by far the best around. The curry is the tastiest and not watery. Great choice on the menu. A firm favourite, now that they deliver is an added bonus

I always go to Kwong Chow for my Friday night meal as you can guarantee the portions will be far superior to others in the locality. I usually phone in and then drive to collect therefore the waiting is kept to a minimum. If you order online you are given a cooking time so judge for yourself. Great staff always friendly.

Ordered Sweet and sour king prawn and pork in ok sauce. Both were tasteles and the prawn crackers were greasey. Worst Chinese meal we have ever had.

Had our usual special curry, no prawns , chicken chow mein and sweet and sour Cantonese. All were fantastic. Freshly cooked, plentiful and tasty. Really friendly owner who always makes an effort. What more can you ask for?

Been using this take away for probably over 30 years now. The food is always tasty and hot. It does vary slightly but that’s because it’s not just out of a tin and into the microwave, so is always made for you whilst you wait. Best Chinese curry around. Will make it extra hot if you ask, it will cost more but it’s hot! The only Chinese where if you leave the food on the plate it doesn’t turn to jelly when it’s cold. I’ve tried most of the Chinese take aways around here and some are un-eatable, salty and cold. You won’t be disappointed here. Proper ingredients.

Went to my usual Chinese on a Saturday night and found over an hour wait. Decided to give it a miss before passing Kwong Chow and thought I’d give it a go..... biggest mistake of my life!! Got to be the worse food I have ever eaten!! Chinese in orange sauce turned out to be very small bits of burnt chicken hidden by onion and drizzled with a table spoon of watery sauce...... no orange taste at all. My meal turned out to be dried rice with burnt chicken and little sauce. Stay well away from this place....... I certainly will from now on!!!!

I’m going to start this review by saying the food that they do is amazing and very high quality with good portion sizes etc, but the service is terrible. sometime you can be waiting there for 10/15 minutes before they realise someone’s there and come out the kitchen to serve you. went today to order and was waiting atleast 10 minutes and in the end i shouted them because i was in a rush. good food, not so good service.

This place does the best curry by far. Love the special curry with no prawn. Loads of meat and it was not watery like some we have had. Freshly cooked chips. Perfect.

We had beef curry which is our favourite, chicken chow mein and peking beef. All gorgeous and plentiful. Chow mein wasn't greasy like some and they do the thinner noodles which we prefer. Curry was tasty and full of meat. The peking sauce although looked watery was actually packed with flavour. Thanks again.

I really love the food here. The beef curry is the best around. They always cater for my dietary needs of no shell fish. With this in mind our food has always been cooked fresh and it just lovely. The prices are very reasonable and the owner is just brilliant every time we visit. Thanks

Had a takeaway from here tonight, absolutely awful. The guy that served us was lovely, but the food! We had chicken satay that was weak and NOTHING like a chicken satay!!

Poor service poor food gave me wrong order food was cold and over charged me cuz they got the price wrong didn't care when I tryed to complain..... just don't go there

well this is a chinese takaway which serves a great selection of chinese food at reasonable prices not to far from me which is a bonus

Just had a meal for two people. Chicken chow mien, and a Special Kung Po. Both meals were really tasty and full of flavour. I would thoroughly recommend that if you haven't tried Kwong Chow before, then give it a try, you won't regret it

Recogió una llevar en aproximadamente a las 9 pm en un sábado por la noche. Sorprendido al ver que no había nadie comida más ordenada. Cuando llegué a casa me di cuenta de por qué estaba tranquilo. Sin duda tienes que tener un buen aspecto en la calidad de la comida salir, no fomentar negocios.

Nos dieron una comida para llevar desde aquí, ya que había llegado esa tarde y no pudimos conseguir otro restaurante que traían, había leído las críticas y tenía mis dudas, pero no había mucho donde elegir, ya que estaba a una corta distancia a pie.

Had a couple of takeaways from here, food has been average but value for money, average portions and will continue to go.

Este podría ser un buen llevar! Alubias negras era como salsa, pedí con champiñones en vez de pimiento verde y me cobraron un extra de £1. 50! ! ! Otros locales chinos no cobran por esto! De ahí que sin duda no volveremos aquí. Deberían buscar después de su gente en vez de ser codicioso! ! Que pena por ti!

El menú es bueno, la comida es buena y el personal es cortés y amable. Normalmente es fácil aparcar cerca.

Decidió anoche en una llevar, y pensamos como un cambio intentará china. Utilizamos este llevar mucho en el pasado y estaba delicioso.

Normalmente la orden desde aquí a menudo y pedir el pollo al curry con arroz frito. Estamos siempre con amabilidad y la comida es siempre caliente y deliciosa. continuará ir aquí.

Tasty and hot food (Cantonese sweet and sour chicken, chicken and black bean plus noodles) from Kwong Chow. Good and efficient service without a long wait. Thank you.

I'm a big fan of vegetable spring rolls, in my opinion you can tell the quality of an establishment based on these. The spring rolls were awesome and definitely homemade, not the frozen ones that are bought in. I couldn't taste MSG's either which was brilliant. I will be going back for sure,

There are many really awful Chinese takeaways in this area and this isn't one of them. We had a special curry and a crispy chilli beef with rice , spring rolls and crackers and really enjoyed everything. Some locals Chinese takeaways are so greasy and this wasn't , we both really enjoyed and love the prawn crackers as they are warm when you get them not like those horrible thick ones you get , these were thin, crispy and warm . Lovely. Staff are friendly and we even got some free chocolates with our order! Prices are very good. This place has always been a favourite of mine.

Decided on a takeaway from kwong Chow as a change, but soooooo disappointed. What used to be a good takeaway really disappointed. Our portion of chips was tiny, soggy and cold and the meals were very standard. What a shame. Won't go again

Went here a few nights ago and was really looking forward to a Chinese meal. The staff were friendly enough and the service very good but the food was awful, it was so bad I couldn't eat it. Defiantly wouldn't return or recommend to family or friends to eat here

You always used to drive past and see it was packed. Or, go in and it'd be packed. Now,neither is true. The food used to be great and be great value, its now terrible. Totally agree with the guy who said about "getting 30 chips" - he was lucky!! Ive noticed bits have been taken out of dishes in the past few years and value for money is non existent. I had a rotten meal a while back and was told exactly what others are saying "oh, nobody else has complained". Seems to me they are skimping on ingredients to save money. Im not sure what else is going on but my food tasted awful.

We came up visiting friends and asked them to prepare a mixed selection for 4 Adults and 4 Kids.Selection was fantastic more than enough food for us all and all very fresh ingredients.Would highly recommend.

Service was quick and the staff seem pleasant, however the food is not good. They only have one size portions, which is a child portion. The food was cold when I got it and it is more expensive than any others in the area.Will not be returning.

New to the area and was delighted.Clean tidy and professional. Helpful/knowledgable staff - I asked about whether they add MSG which I absolutrely detest and they dont which is a real plus for me. Nothing worse than feeling thirsty and dehydrated after a take away. Had three so far and can report no issues.Would highly recommend.

The worst Chinese takeaway I have ever had. Ordered prawn chow Mein, just full of noodles and prawns with the odd bit of very thrown in. It was so sweet, tasted as if there was pund of sugar in the meal!

Having used over the years, tonights dinner was a disgrace, phoned them to tell them so!! DO NOT waste your hard earned money here, please. Ordered 5 different things, the whole family were disgusted. Luke warm, so microwaved it. Tiny chips portions, not joking about 30 chips in each bag.

Bland & tasteless..need I say more. Will never eat from there again. I'd rather eat cardboard. We ordered 4 different meals and all of them were completely tasteless

We have used Kwongchow for years but I have started to go elsewhere recently. I find that the food is hit and miss these days. I am also finding myself still hungry after eating a takeaway from here, almost unheard of when ordering a takeaway usually! It's really not cheap in comparison to other Chinese takeaways locally so I am really unsure as to why I'm left with such a small portion each time! .

Have not ordered from this takeaway for a while and I won't be ordering again either, food quality seems to drastically gone down, noticed on my visit that there was no food hygiene rating visible like there is in most food outlets Very disappointing !

We use the kwong chow due to its close proximity to our home. Occasionally we have a faultless meal however on many other occasions it's been average or worse. Our recent meal involved wonton soup which was bland, lukewarm and had crunchy bits actually in the wonton, crispy seaweed which was stale and had bits in it which was evidently cabbage on the turn and chow mein which was cold. As previously mentioned, we live nearby and our orders are always picked up straight away. We only use the kwong chow for convenience and in the hope that when we do go we're going to be lucky enough to have a good meal. I think now it really is time to use another takeaway. Sorry folks, you need to up your game!

I have been a customer at Kwong Chow for many years, however recently things have gone down hill. We recently ordered 2 portions of chicken fried rice between 3 of us, we ordered via telephone and collected ourselves. As we tucked in we noticed the rice was sticky and almost risotto like but worse, and the chicken was a terrible colour. I then decided to phone them and asked to speak to the manager, the response I received was beyond me! I told them that I had my suspicions the rice had been re-heated before being given to us (which many of us know is a serious health risk!!) and the response I received was "are you sure you have the right establishment??" "we've sold 100 of those dishes in the last hour and no-one else has complained!" (bearing in mind this is a Thursday night!)and finally "there's nothing we can do about it, if you don't like it go elsewhere". I was truly appalled by this phonecall as I have been a loyal customer for years. Since then we have changed to a Chinese in Rhos. Never again would I order from them nor would I recommend them to anyone!

Nice food reasonably priced. The chicken satay is lovely the staff are friendly. Thats all u can say really

I've have always loved the food from Kwong Chow, but last Thursday my family had chicken fried rice, kung po chicken and beef and mushroom. We also had fried rice and chips. The chips used to be fantastic, hand cut but these were cheap frozen chips. The chicken appeared to be precooked not fresh. The beef and mushroom had hardly any mushrooms, nor much beef but loads of onions. The sauce was pale with horrible blobs of jelly, and had no taste. The peas in the chicken fried rice were like bullets, precooked and then reheated. The chillies in the kung po were also tough and inedible. I hope that this is a one off, and whoever was manning the kitchen has gone now, but it will be a long time before I go back again.

Kwong Chow has been run by the same family for many years and apart from the one time when I had sprouts in my curry, standards haven't slipped. The sweet & sour, curry, beef in black bean sauce, chow mein & pancake roll dishes are always tasty although portion sizes are a little on the small side and a bit more expensive than other local Chinese takeaways. However, it's better than the majority of nearby competition and well worth popping in to pick up a great meal or two.

Lovely food but quite expensive compared to other Chinese restaurants I've eaten in elsewhere.Not the restaurant's fault, but there was a noisy family in with two children who were running riot. Unfortunately we were placed next to them which spoilt our evening a bit when there were other free tables in the other part of the restuarant which were unoccupied and away from the screaming 8 year olds!
