Visited this pub midweek after being recommended by a work colleague. Didn’t disappoint. Nicola and Dave were incredibly friendly, their children who popped in were very well behaved. Nicola was so helpful In getting us home at the end of the night. Will definitely return again. Thank you for a great experience in making our holiday.

Terrible Guinness, poured wrong from start to quick finish, worst looking Guinness I’ve ever seen. Not difficult to hold the glass up to the tap rather than pour it from high up

We had a great time and the food was generous in portion size and very tasty. The staff were attentive and we didn’t have to wait long to be served.

Visited here today with my partner and two young children. The staff were lovely and attentive, and the food came out promptly. However their fryers were not working today, so the menu choices were pretty narrowed down, which I saw that it caused some customers to walk back out. We were happy with the pasta and pizza we had however, my arrabiata with added chicken could have been better in portion size for the £16 it cost.

Not the best of service, could not set up a tab for our drinks and meal had to pay separate, when waitress came to take drinks order was told only Gordon’s gin and pink gin and Aber falls asked if any raspberry gin answer was no, when leaving seen a hole shelf full of different gins. I ordered mozzarella and haddock fish cakes I was given mozzarella sticks, my husband ordered a 12oz gamon which was no bigger than a beef burger definitely not 12oz, waited over half an hour after eating main meal to have to go find someone to order puddings to then be told kitchen is closed. Waitress could do with a smile and knowledge of what drinks are behind the bar and chef needs to learn weight of the meats before being advertised. Definitely won’t be going again

Having spent all morning walking the site this was definitely needed. We don't often use the national trust facilities for food. As on holiday though we treated ourselves and enjoyed it. Very nice!

Very disappointed! Food was awful. On holiday so thought we would give it a try. Worst tika massala we've ever had. Was so salty it was inedible. Chips were very hard. Garlic naan was odd... flat like paper and chewy like rubber. Rice was OK but we had put the curry on top! Went in bin, wasn't walking all way back to town. Waste of £50

We use this chip shop on arrival night to save cooking, usually delicious, but this year food wasn't up to usual standard. Greasy batter and dry fish

I wish I had read the reviews before visiting - we could have avoided an expensive mistake. Poor food, brought out at random times (one arriving well after we had finished everything else and only after several reminders). Food was lukewarm and bore little resemblance to description in the menu, the ox cheek was particularly bad. We would have complained whilst there, but the chefs were too busy swearing and shouting to get their attention, and I did not feel it was fair to complain to waiting on staff who were working hard. With so many nice places to eat locally, we would not return here.

We visited on a weekday evening. The restaurant was dead but the phone didn’t stop ringing and plenty of people coming in for a takeaway. One member of staff was working which meant that we waited more than enough time for our order to be taken. When the food came it was ok you can’t go wrong with chicken tikka masala ( for the kids) My husband had ordered a naga chicken tikka which was made spicy by adding copious amounts of tubby toms sauce (confirmed by waiter) leaving it so hot it was inedible. He likes hot food and naga is his go too, but this was ridiculously hot even for him. The bill was extortionate despite us bringing our own drinks and the fact that it is cash only is very suspicious!!

Came here today Iced Cherry latte was spot on and great. But I think their needs to be a few things that need to rectified 1 . the place needs increased hygiene cleaning for example the toilets they were absolutely horrendous today with someone’s skid marks on them appalling!! 2. The staff members need to stop nagging people to come out of the toilets and not speak to them in a rude manner. If this continues to happen then things are going to kick off and escalate. A change is urgently needed!!! Caffè Nero investigate this and get these problems resolved.
