Dined at the Hayloft 13/3 2024 with my husband and we were not impressed with the set meal .Starters were ok but the maincourse of steak pie for me was dissapointing with very hard pastry and my husbands meal of curry was poor. The puddings were a bit strange as my husband had a fruit tart with an odd mix of fruit which included a large piece of pomegranite !

Booked a table of 8 for Mothers Day. Staff were lovely, especially the restaurant manager and the young lady behind the bar. The place itself is beautiful, really spacious and tastefully decorated. The food was average at best I’m afraid. I ordered the salt & pepper squid for starter, it was inedible, chewy and tasteless. The smoked trout starter was however very nice. Mains were fine, nothing to write home about but was hot and portions generous. The puddings were all right, however I ordered a semifreddo, what I got was a cheesecake 😂 my brother in law wanted a cheesecake but saw none on the menu so I swapped with him and had the blood orange tart which had about as much orange in it as a vanilla pudding. What really sealed the deal was the entertainment. Cracking singer and this is no reflection of him AT ALL but my god he was loud. Couldn’t hear a word anyone was saying round the table, it was really awful 😞 I didn’t want to hear Wonderwall and Faith being belted out at full volume whilst trying to have conversations with my parents who are their their 80’s I booked the Hayloft thinking we’d get somewhere really special for Mother’s Day, unfortunately I’d have been better sticking to my first choice of the Queens Head in Glanwydden. Sorry

Very poor. Went for Sunday lunch. Had to ask for someone to take our order for food and drinks. Food came quickly, fully plated and had obviously been standing around for a while. Food was cold. Still no drinks! We waited for plates to be cleared but no one came. We cleared our own plates and left. We told the staff and were told that they were busy clearing another table. There were only about 5 tables occupied and an equal number of staff. There was a complete lack of welcome and service. Very disappointing and will definitely not be returning.

Food was awful -there early yet everything tasted re warned up and not fresh at all. The booking was made at the weekend and it was very quiet which wasn’t a surprise after tasting their menu -no need for a chef there anybody could turn out that standard of food -very disappointing and certainly won’t be revisiting -although a half price offer it was still not worth the money.

The Hayloft has so much potential but sadly let down by indifferent staff. This was our 4th visit & unfortunately brought home how little the staff care about their customers. There is one waitress & a young man who are great but otherwise everything is too much trouble & we felt we were treated with distain. The setting is super, food & drinks were very good. I tried to attract someone’s attention for a sharper knife to cut lamb cutlets but the waitress scuttled away if anyone tried to make eye contact. Getting extra water for the table was a long wait! The owner Richard was circulating the tables & I should have raised my concerns then but unfortunately he wasn’t around on our way out. If these young ladies are not prepared to be pleasant & helpful then perhaps they shouldn’t be in hospitality. Sadly this is the opinion of several friends, good place, poor staff. We prefer to go somewhere where we’re welcomed.

We went on the over 65's 50% off offer but it would have been good value at the full price. The air temperature was a little cool to start but I soon warmed up with some soup. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The food was excellent - hot, nicely presented and good quality.

We visited the Hayloft for lunch after visiting The Furnace Cafe a number of times. Even though we had our dog with us we were welcomed into their beautiful restaurant, the venue is tastefully decorated and candles create a really cosy atmosphere . Pleasingly, complimentary table water was offered and the table service was flawless. We ordered the burger and chips (off a very wide ranging menu) and were very pleased with our choice. Home made burgers, delicious chips and tangy coleslaw. We were very pleased with the cost of food and drinks. We will return again very soon!

Dropped in for something to eat during the day. We expected to sit outside as we have a dog but they welcomed us inside and made such a fuss of our dog! The place itself is beautifully furnished and, in better weather, the patio area would be a wonderful dining option. The food was gorgeous and the service was second to none. We will definitely be visiting again.

Came here for lunch on Saturday 2nd of September and had a lovely meal. It was really quiet at the time we arrived which was nice as we got some peace. Prices are about what you would expect - lamb burger and gammon came to about £32, which is a more than fair price for what we had, portions were also quite sizeable, and it was delicious. Staff were friendly, the inside is decorated so beautifully too! Overall we would absolutely visit again, can’t fault it.

waitresses were useless busybodies plenty of tables free, noone there to seat you so after we settled in on our own one of them got all uppity about it - if they were there in the 1st place doing her job that hassle would not have happened - we just left and will not return - same happened to friends of ours too

Visiting Brown's bar and grill every weekend is the highlight of our week. My husband and I always have food here. The freshly battered fish, chips and mushy peas are great. The carvery on Sunday is the best I've ever had. I really just wished there were more choice for desserts. The management and their staff are so friendly and welcoming. Keep up the great work you do as we do appreciate it.
