You must go here as it is a little out of the way, yet really nice food with nice attentive, helpful staff. Go along Station Road to get to it, or cross the bridge from the railway station.

Took my son to the Buffet Coach… what a lovely experience! We were greeted by two lovely women. The cakes were amazing! I spoke to the waitress for a while, saying my son was upset as the little train had closed before we arrived and she VERY KINDLY went to her tip jar and gave his £1.50 to go on Toby , the coin operated train outside. Very generous. My son hadn’t ate much of his cake (which was lovely) and so the woman put it in a take away box for us to take home. With such kindess and goodwill from both members of staff, we will definatley be back! Thank you!!

Visited 11th May 2021 and was a disgrace. Poor service, more interested in selling slate products when you can eventually get someone’s attention. Cold microwave food. Over priced took forever to arrive. Staff rude more interested in gossiping. The train has obviously had no upkeep and just now one big billboard for slate sales. On first look wondering if they still sold food as look more of a shop for slate sales. Such a shame this has been let go so badly over lockdown think health and hygiene should pay a visit after leaving the platform and noticing the outside fan from kitchen area and dirty windows.if we had seen this first would never had eaten there. So disappointed as our first visit before lockdown was amazing, warm welcoming and home cook food. And really wanted to use for of walking stops. Will not be returning. And definitely not recommending to our walking groups that visit.

Having taken our train loving son to the Conwy Railway miniature rail nextdoor we simply could not miss the opportunity to have lunch on an old train coach. I think we were as excited as our son! We have three children and the staff were very accommodating and great with the kids. They do a children's snacks menu so they had sandwiches whilst we went for Welshcakes & tea. It was very tasty indeed. Location wise it is in a great position in Betws-y-coed, overlooking the miniature railway and Betws station which itself looks like it's been preserved in an era long since passed. We'll definitely be paying another visit here.

Never disappoints - good food, nothing fancy, but what a place to eat. Genuine railway carriage that our 5 year old grandson thought was fantastic. Staff are friendly and the service is fine except when it's really busy. Not really their fault if a load of people pile in at the same time. My husband and I had sandwiches and our son and daughter-in-law went for the late breakfast. All very acceptable. Grandchildren (5 & 2) had fish fingers, chips, and a bun. Meals and drinks arrived 'together' (2 waitresses) so everyone happy.

Mug of tea costs £1.20 and a pot of tea costs £1.80. Yet you get 1 small cup of tea from a ‘pot of tea’. I’ve never seen such big kids meals. My huge 11 year old couldn’t finish his. My husband and I both ordered sausages, mash. carrots, peas and gravy. Thought we might end up with instant mash and frozen veg but certainly didn’t taste like it. Was pleased with our food but again big portion sizes. As we drove into Betws-y-Coed, looking for somewhere to eat and enjoy the area, what could be more appealing that sitting on an old train carriage. The kids were excited and asking if we could go there, and I was more than happy to agree to get on.Sadly, I was quickly wishing I'd said no.I don't like writing negative reviews, so I shall be quick and to the point. First, everything was straight forward, easy to prepare food, burgers, fish and chips (the fish was an over baked shop bought piece of fish), nuggets, and so on. My burger was just that, a burger, in a bun. Sadly not a very flavoursome burger. Pop some salad on, some relish, anything. There were fans on the walls, connected to the lights with exposed wires, shrouded, but still exposed; not good. The tables were not clean. The windows (not normally an issue, but they are right at the side of you) were damaged and in need of sealing and the perimeters were soaking wet with condensation. The seats are shabby. Hand written price labels designate your table number. There was a convector heater which was absolutely filthy, and to cap it all off, it was hardly reasonably priced for very simple food. The staff are good, the setting is good. This is a wasted opportunity.

This place has so much potential as it's quite quirky and nostalgic but basic housekeeping procedures need to be followed. The drinks and food was fine and the staff were friendly but keep the place clean please.

Popped in here for a coffee after lunching out in Betws. Very unusual and quirky! Interior ok but the outside desperately needs painting. Staff were friendly and coffee was nice enough. A great place to sit for a while and watch the trains going past!

We went for morning coffee while staying for a few days in Betws-y-Coed. The Staff were very friendly. The toilets could be improved.

We were lucky enough to secure the Buffet Coach Café for exclusive use after hours recently - it made a superb venue for our party of 16. Hugely helpful staff catered for us at very short notice, food was lovely - and plenty of it! I'll definitely be going back whenever I'm the area, and I hope they choose to do more private hire as this makes a truly charming and unusually themed venue set in a wonderful location. Remember, It's an old railway coach - warts an' all - so don't expect the Ritz! We'll look to book us all in again in the future. Perfect if you like to do things a little different :)

My wife and I came here for a meal having visited before and received great food at reasonable prices. Unfortunately this is no longer to be the case. We ordered the fish and chips at £7.95 each, while I don't expect them to serve portions as large as some of the chain pubs I did expect more than supermarket frozen fish. Maybe the business has changed hands I don't know but standards have seriously slipped to the point that we won't visit again, such a shame as we used to like it here

If you're looking for somewhere for lunch, then don't go any further than an old railway carriage. They do all kinds of meals and snacks and I had a jacket potato with quite a lot of salad on the side so you actually get your monies worth. Will certainly come back here again

Great place. Consistantly good breakfasts ( over the last 6 months ) that are served promptly and with a smile in atmospheric surroundings. The price is right. My only criticism is that they use a tasteless spread on their toast instead of butter or margarine.

Whilst exploring Betws - y - Coed looking for lunch on a very busy day we spotted this from the platform on the other side of the railway. Having entered we loved the old train setting, comfortable seating, friendly staff and tasty well priced food. I think with a couple of extra signposts this place would be much busier, but stumbling across it was perfect for us.

Considering a small breakfast with toast and a hot drink costs only 4.95, it is very good value. The only thing I would say is, get rid of the lurid orange margarine and go for something slightly better.

We were heading for Snowdonia and wanted a break and a bite.We parked up near the station and went mooching. Once inside the station,we headed over the bridge to the coach in question.I visited the railway shop and museum before joining the others for a bite to eat.Friendly staff pointed us to a tasty option for the lunch.Freshly prepared food was delivered within fifteen minutes. We stayed to enjoy the toddlers railway outside as we ate.A pleasant low priced way of eating out, with a varied menu to choose from.

I work in a busy popular cafe in Conwy, and todays visit let me down. Basics, such as cuttlery, condiments and serviettes should be paramount. We ordered at the counter, I specifically asked for NO BUTTER, a simple request, on my baguette, we ordered two bowls of chips, a baguette, and a sausage, egg & chips meal, the young man bought our food out and apologised for the wait - rightly so! We weren't offered condiments and waited 5 minutes after asking TWICE for cuttlerly, & were bought vinegar in a jug???? My baguette was less than mediocre - AWFUL fatty cheap soaking wet ham, and the cucumber on my salad was stale - as if it had been frozen and served anyway! A DISGUSTING colour - shouldn't have been served! We helped ourselved to sauces and condiments, and never got cutlerly which we took off another table, and never had a sniff of a serviette! Toilets - awful! Anyway, could be a great little business! But was a sorely disappointing visit!

Came here today Iced Cherry latte was spot on and great. But I think their needs to be a few things that need to rectified 1 . the place needs increased hygiene cleaning for example the toilets they were absolutely horrendous today with someone’s skid marks on them appalling!! 2. The staff members need to stop nagging people to come out of the toilets and not speak to them in a rude manner. If this continues to happen then things are going to kick off and escalate. A change is urgently needed!!! Caffè Nero investigate this and get these problems resolved.

waitresses were useless busybodies plenty of tables free, noone there to seat you so after we settled in on our own one of them got all uppity about it - if they were there in the 1st place doing her job that hassle would not have happened - we just left and will not return - same happened to friends of ours too

Visiting Brown's bar and grill every weekend is the highlight of our week. My husband and I always have food here. The freshly battered fish, chips and mushy peas are great. The carvery on Sunday is the best I've ever had. I really just wished there were more choice for desserts. The management and their staff are so friendly and welcoming. Keep up the great work you do as we do appreciate it.

4 out of 6 self serve machines broken. Terrible queue! Not up to standard. Someone should take orders manually. Expect better.
