An absolutely wonderful hotel , restaurant and pub - in the ownership of a lovely family. Had a brilliant 2 night stay - room was extremely comfortable- with pleasant furnishings and amazing attention to detail . Had many favourable meals ( breakfasts and dinner) in the restaurant - a nicely varied menu to suit all . The food and drinks were expertly prepared and served - including a lot of flavoursome local produce . Bar had a great ambiance and atmosphere - a proper Mid Wales pub central to the community. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay - very many thanks to all concerned: Jenny and Steve 😊🏴🍷

Cost of lunch £35 Paper Napkin wrapping the cutlery had a ‘chocolatey’ looking fingerprint on it . Yuck! Luke warm baked potato . No butter. Too little cheese but potato was too cold to melt it anyway . Two slices of bacon put on top of the potatoes. Not freshly cooked as it was almost un-cuttable. Texture of leather. 5 x pieces diced cucumber 1/2 cherry tomato 1/2 lettuce leaf Not sure if there was dressing 1x tbsp of shop bought coleslaw Side order of undercooked frozen chips Side order onion rings - edible This is not a complicated ‘meal’ to create. DO BETTER or at least offer a refund

Fantastic views from the restaurant but from there on in a disappointing experience. My starter of pork cheek was burnt and the duck breast I chose for main was over cooked and tough to the point that my husband had to stabilise the wobbly table when I cut the meat. My husband did slightly better with a rather lackluster leak and potato soup, his main was a success, he chose the chestnut and mushroom Wellington which was good. We were the only diners in the restaurant, which added to the slightly dismal ambiance. At over £100 for 2 with therr courses and a single drink it felt over priced compared to other establishments in the area. In its favour the views were brilliant and it was very convenient for bridge 116 on the Mon and Brec canal. However the slightly longer walk to Crickhowell is rewarded with excellent food at the Bear.

Eveey time i have frequented here, food and service has been fantastic and it is always busy. The cappuccino is great and you get chips with the panninis, which is definitely tip top in my opinion. Prices are veey reasonable. Please don't listen to the bad reviews. I definitely recommend this cafe.

This is a regular stop for breakfast on the way to Cardiff. Service is always quick and food is good value for money. Bonus if you manage to park outside as well.

Disappointed. Couldn't go inside because we had a dog. Only non-dairy milk available was oat and cold - so no hot chocolate or lattes or cappuccinos. I asked if it could be heated up but apparently it couldn't. It was a very cold day and we had to sit outside because we had the dog with us. After having read the reviews for this cafe I had great hopes but I was sadly let down.

If you’re looking through previous reviews and think, ah we’ll give it a go… don’t! 😂 up there with the worst meal I’ve had in my life 😂

Oh dear, what has happened to the menu! We have eaten many times here and the food has generally been consistent and the menu sensibly priced and with a good variety of dishes. Our previous visit was about 3 or 4 months ago so I assumed we would get the same or similar menu. My bad for not checking; the old menu has been replaced by pretentious French described dishes (why?!) and a huge price hike across the board. We chose the King Prawns Risotto, overpriced at £18.50. The dish was garnished with one king prawn, no more: the rice was tasty enough but the dish very poor value for money. Regrettably, we won't be returning, such a shame after an association with the hotel restaurant over many years. I suspect many people, like us, will vote with their feet. Nearby Crickhowell has much to offer on the dining front.

What an amazing place. We have enjoyed a variety of meals here from bar food which is great value and generous portions to delightful Sunday lunch. The food is always delicious and fresh with a huge choice for everyone. They cater well for allergies and are accommodating to suit needs. Alongside the ample food choices there is a large range of drinks for everyone. The large beer garden is perfect place to enjoy summer drinks whilst the children play or to relax with your family dogs.
