We visited room 23 on Tuesday 2nd April for lunch for a treat because it was recently my birthday .. we walked in and asked what was available on the menu at the bar we where given a menu and told he would be over in a minute to ask about drinks.. we sat waiting for 15 minutes no one came another couple came in that was given a drink immediately.. so we walked out Very bad service in room 23 wont be going there again

Attended the Mamma Mia event on Sunday, excellent from start to finish, food lovely , atmosphere was wonderful, entertainment was brilliant, all the little touches made it a really wonderful experience. The waitresses Megan , Isabelle and Imogen were brilliant and coped extremely well with the large numbers of people , excellent service for young ladies.

Food was excellent. Service friendly & helpful. Building is lovely.

Arrived here at 7pm for food and currently still waiting for it to arrive at 8pm. No starters yet either. We were asked 4 times by servers if we were being dealt with. Seems like there is no form of order between the staff and the kitchen. Not impressed at all. People that arrived 20 minutes after us already have food.

Always enjoy a visit to this venue for food and drink. Made to feel very welcome by all the staff. Includes live music Sat nights. Great asset to the town.

Excellent service by Lauren and Paris, food and drinks were quick and tasty and the dog got a bowl of water and dog treats. Very user friendly and will definitely use again. Place was also very clean and prices good.

Unfortunately not a good review but i feel its needed, 1st off the place looks great from the outside its inviting looks great but thats where the great ends. Seating especially the booths are ripped and uncomfortable, it didnt take long for someone to notice we had sat down but that was short lived. Wrong table number put on our drinks so they took a walk around the place before getting to us not a big issue but then presented with menus which felt like a lifetime to be followed up on. The food its self wasnt bad far to greasy a little bit more time to let the grease soak away in the burger and especially the onion rings they were dripping. The staff then did not interact with us from this point on, tried to get staff attention for drinks but it didnt happen. Dessert time we had to flag down a staff member, tried to follow the order with some drinks but menu's were taken and off they went. After dessert we would of happily stayed for drinks but again this was never offered the staff really let the place down showing little to no interest with customers. We didnt wait to be brought the bill we got up, paid and left rather than hang round waiting. Continued our evening somewhere else as the service in 23 social is so poor.

Was relatively quiet but it was midweek. We both had a beef burger with a drink and it was great. Good service, food was hot and perfectly cooked. Had nothing to complain about at all and would highly recommend to others. Will certainly return when we are next back in the area.

DO NOT COME HERE - Upon arrival the place felt cold and gloomy. From the beginning it wasn’t a good experience. The waitress got our order wrong and when she brought out the food it was absolutely horrible. The fish was so oily that it drenched the plate. I had to put a tissue underneath the fish so it could soak up all the oil, it also tasted not fresh and double fried. The chips were cold and the Mac and cheese tasted like milk. The coleslaw also had a slight taste of fish. My partner had the sea bass and I’ve never seen anything like it. The fish was discoloured and had an awful aroma coming off it.. the plating was horrendous let alone the sauce. Things like this shouldn’t be served to customers and especially be expected to pay for it. I left the plates aside and finished off my drinks.. when the waitress came she asked if everything was ok.. I had expressed the issue to her and she looked at us as if were crazy. She said she’s never had a complaint about all dishes not being good, however not good is an UNDERSTATEMENT. Her attitude towards us was also not needed as we were only trying to explain the issue. I don’t get how places like this are still running. If you want good gastro/pub food or any food at all do not come here.

Not a good place for us old uns... Food poorly prepared, various lagers but no ales, empty on a midweek evening, and TVs everywhere Maybe aimed at the teen market.

We booked an Afternoon Tea which we requested to be made vegan and, honestly, the staff could not have been more helpful. The food and drinks were DELICIOUS! The chef did an incredible job of making so many delicious vegan treats - the scones were our absolute favourite, but the sausage rolls were a close second. We weren’t expecting that everything would have been homemade to such a high standard - we feel that we have had great value for money at £30 (including a tea and a coffee). We were also happy to see how friendly and attentive the staff were during our visit and we will definitely be back again. If booking an Afternoon Tea make sure you give 48 hours notice as they tailor them to your needs. There are a variety of different sandwich fillings available.

Took our 18 month old dog in here and he has never experienced anything like this before. Chef came and asked if he could have some meat which we said yes to and the dog loved it. Kudos to the chef, top bloke!

Popped into Newtown for breakfast on way home. Coffee was great, food was good absolutely massive breakfast..proper butchers sausages! Staff were very friendly.

Vile cafe , vile customer service , food was not nice all the order came wrong and we was spoken to abruptly for telling them the order was wrong. Staff pulled faces at us, the manager told us that the server was only 17. Not sure what age has to do with a bad attitude and making our visit unpleasant.

Popped in for breakfast with friends. Service was very slow, waited 45mins for our food which then came out wrong. The sausages were undercooked, and not nice at all. When we politely mentioned the errors to the staff member we were given dirty looks. We never did receive the correct meals and felt we couldn't ask again as the staff were so rude previously. We took these issues up with the manager who didn't care at all, and was very unapologetic. We were made to feel very uncomfortable. Averall....not nice food, unfriendly and unhelpful staff. Would never return again.

Not a very pleasant experience. We waited 45 minutes for breakfast, and we have minor issues. Sausages undercooked and eggs not made as requested. Then waited another 10 mins for them to bring back my breakfast. Which I didn’t enjoy. Tasteless. When approaching a staff member he walked away and rolled his eyes, when we went to pay bill and complain we was greeted by another rude staff member who was looking at the ceiling when we were talking all in all staff are rude, unfriendly and food wasn’t great. Wouldn’t attend here again!!!

We booked a table for a Friday night in March (turned out to be overkill as it wasn't that busy!). The menu has a great selection, the staff are really friendly and helpful, and the food is well priced and was tasty - zero complaints. Also a nice place inside - upstairs is like the Tardis!

I phoned on the off chance for a table for lunch and so thankful I did. The place has a great atmosphere, very modern and clean. The restaurant is dog friendly too which was great for us to take ours along. We both had the carvery which was delicious. I would highly recommend a visit here. Thank you 😊

Good place even just to have a coffee

Thurs night, first time customer, staff friendly, food not so great. Burger tasted of pepper,and had better fries from Jacks nextdoor, ribs were not good, garlic bread with cheese looked the most unappetising I’ve ever seen! 23 not for me!

During our week in wales, myself and partner visited here twice. Different staff each time, all of which were super friendly and accommodating. They are dog friendly and bring water/treats over without us even having to ask (we go to a lot of places where we have to ask for water) so it was nice for the dogs to be given water as soon as were seated. The food was beautiful and empty plates all round on both occasions. We didn’t think it was badly priced neither.

Fantastic food, had an amazing burger, the girls loved it too. Its a fab place to go in the evening too

Poor service. Ribs meal, which was basically a quarter rack of ribs, was mostly fat and what little meat there was on it was dry. Returned the ribs to the kitchen but still charged for it but with a fifty percent discount. So basically some fries and a coleslaw dip cost me just under £10 whereas a side of chips would be just over £3. Really poor service from Chelsea. I wouldn't recommend eating here..

Food took over 45 minutes to come out & when it eventually did it was cold & very bland. Told the staff about it & they didn’t seem to care. Save you money and go Weatherspoons it will be better!

Lovely clean venue with kind staff, brought our dog a bowl of water over within a minute or 2 of us coming in, nice drinks and food took 20-30 mins to arrive and was presently very nicely, the food was also very tasty and a lot of it seemed homemade, we had bbq pork ribs and the Cajun chicken burger. We wish we could've had dessert but we had no room left after the generous portions, 10/10 would visit more if we were local but as visitors from Middlesbrough we massively enjoyed our visit and would highly recommend this to any one else visiting the area who is looking for somewhere dog friendly.

Was in Newtown to break up a long car journey. Couldn’t find many dog friendly places to have lunch but a local had recommended here. No sign to say dog friendly but as soon as we walked in both members of staff were so friendly and welcoming. Dogs can sit anywhere which is nice as a dog owner to have the freedom to choose where to sit. I had a jacket potato off the light bite menu which was delicious with a tasty filling and really good side salad. The food was great quality, the service very good and the place had a very relaxing atmosphere mid week, very chill. I am so glad I found this place, would definitely return if I was in the area and can definitely recommend especially as being very accommodating with dogs. Thank you for a lovely lunch with friendly faces to serve you. It makes such a difference. Great food, great staff and great ambience. If I had one negative it’s that they seemed short staffed so struggled when it got busy and weren’t as friendly or accommodating when they clearly had too many people to look after. It’s a shame but a sign of the times for the hospitality sector.

Katsu curry tasted sweet not like it should . Cajun chicken burger was like a southern fried chicken 🍗 to taste . No taste in coleslaw. Chips were nice .

The food here is fantastic, had the potato skins and steak which was cooked to perfection. The staff are really friendly and sociable as well, especially Lauren and Passion. Couldn't rate the place higher.

We recently held a fundraising event here. All of the staff at 23 Social, particularly Beth, were very supportive. We were given a room for the day with no charge as a gesture of goodwill, as the fundraising event was for charity. All of the staff team were brilliant, nothing asked of them was too much. We paid for catering and the food was freshly made that morning (and delicious!). I am very thankful to the team for their support not only on the day of the event but the weeks leading up to it. The communication was great. I'd definitely recommend 23 Social to anyone looking for a space to use and/or for food.

Really enjoyed our visit here. Food was excellent and all the staff were really friendly and efficient. Although there were no Bourbon cocktails on the menu that wasn't issue as they made me a really nice old fashioned. Will definitely go back next time we are in the area.

Came on a Saturday afternoon, food was meh! Fries were good, service was great, drinks great selection, we ordered the ribs and fish n chips, ribs wow so small about a quarter of a rack ! Fish was very tasteless and greasy, shame

We went tonight for dinner and absoloutley adored this place!!!!!!!!!!I adore it especially as it has used ideas from the best chains and melded it into one like for example i like it that it has the funky music,the enthusiastic and the lively atmosphere from tgi Fridays and also mixed a lively atmosphere beautifully with a lounge like calm atmosphere,not too fussy atmosphere,the inclusive atmosphere and the enthusiastic service as well.Also i like how they have melded the food quality to taste like Frankie and Benny’s as well and I love a good Frankie and Benny’s and also I like the stage which does live music,the super fast service,the massive portions and the energetic atmosphere of Hard Rock Cafe and also the extensive gluten free menu which all of these chains do.The berry’s and cherry’s mock tail was ever so lovely and tasted extremley refreshing.Also the food was amazing too,the potato skins were absolutely amazing,such a great portion 1 potato skin here would be the equivalent of 3 potato skins in Frankie and Benny’s and I got 2 so that would have been the equivalent of 6 potato skins.The potato skins were piping hot and extremley creamy and dreamy.I also loved that they put a side salad to it too which you can enjoy too which I tasted and I loved.They also have the bbq and sour cream dip so that was very nice to have as an add on to you’re meal.Also my ribs were fantastic too,a lot of bbq glazing and tasted mouth-wateringly nice just like tgi Fridays.The portions you got were amazing with the ribs too and everything was served piping hot.The chips were the nicest chips I’ve ever tasted,they were so soft and creamy.Also I loved my sweet potato chips that came by accident too.Unfortunately I was too full to eat my onion rings.Also the service was very good,double the efficiency you get in a Hard Rock Cafe and the service is very efficient there so that is very impressive for here.Also I did have a look at the puddings and they looked nice and dessert options very influenced by the lounges.However I was too full for dessert.Also the customer service was great,our waiter was very informative with our order too and all the serving staff were very kind,freindly and fun.Also everything including toilets were clean.Can’t wait to go back here and I really hope they do become a chain ,I would love one of these restaurants in Uxbridge,Ruislip or Taplow.

Poor quality food that was expensive for what we got. Disinterested staff. Music too loud considering it was Sunday lunch time. Will not be returning

We had carvery and found it quite disappointing. The mashed potatoes tasted like packet "smash", meat was difficult to cut and quite tough, roast potatoes were not at all crispy, pigs in blankets would probably have got up and started squealing if you had slapped them as they were so undercooked and the cauliflower cheese was tasteless. Music way too loud for a Sunday lunch. Won't be coming back.

A very good place to hang out and to have a lovely meal. Been already few times for a carvery and pretty much every single time it was spot on. The consistency of food is also really good. The only fault is the service - last time we were there it was surprisingly good but before that each time we had to chase the waiters to get some drinks, get some carvery tickets, cutlery, desserts menu and they were overall pretty sluggish with the service but quick to chase you for a payment... naughty ☝️ Because of that the service gets only 3☆. Nevertheless well worth visiting and will be going back with our awesome friends 😉

Nice venue, cool atmosphere and delicious food, served quickly and presented well. Impressive back bar with a good selection of cocktails available, and good draught selection. Great addition to the area!

Lovely ambience, spacious surroundings. Pleasant staff & delicious food. Downside is very slow table service, the place wasn't that busy either. We waited over 20 minutes for our drinks to be delivered, after ordering at the bar & being told they would be brought over. We will return & hopefully more staff on duty then.

Gave me wrong food Over cooked meat to much salt to water had hair and worst of all. a lump of hair was in my food.

The chips were limp and cold and the onion rings were swimming in grease. The burger was mediocre. We both left most of our meal. I showed the waitress the chips and onion rings and she said sorry, I’ll pass your comments on to the kitchen. Not good for customer relations and not good food. Won’t be going back there again

Tried for the first time today and wow the carvery was the best we’ve ever had , we chose beef and the portions was very generous, the vegetables were fresh , friendly staff and very clean , pudding was superb the sticky toffee pudding was delicious , well done will be back to try mid week meal

We made a reservation for 6 people for lunch at 12:30 on a Saturday. When we went to order food that told us they weren't doing food as they had a large table in for a birthday! The place wasn't even busy. Really disappointed. Will not go there again or recommend.

Awful, won't go back! The drinks took 25mins from ordering at the bar to turning up. There was nobody else waiting at the bar and three staff were behind the bar chatting while the order was being fulfilled. The food turned up with out cutlery, it was a wait to start eating before we had the cutlery to go with it. One of us ordered garlic mushrooms, it had no garlic flavour and was served up on soggy bread. I had the cajun chicken burger which was incinerated, and needed considerable chewing time. Two of the chip options were unavailable. The ''skinny fries'' were huge chunky chips. We asked the waitress whether these were the regular chips, she kindly took them back to the chef who said they were ''the new skinny fries'' (Fat fries!). When taking the order, the waitress asked how one of us wanted their beef burger cooked. He asked for it to be cooked rare. The burger came very well cooked. No pink inside at all. We did have a small discount off the meal but the slow service and very poor food means that I would not reccomend this place to anybody. The waitress mentioned that the new head chef wasn't in tonight.

Really fab burger and sweet potato fries. Can’t believe how good the onion rings were. For casual dining it’s a great place, very friendly staff.

Waiting so long for food (45 minutes) when asked we were told 5 minutes and we then waited a extra ten minutes we watched the kids burger being moved around quite a lot underneath a lamp for more than 20 miunits we went there for lunch not dinner!! 0 out of 10 only give 1 star cos no option to give 0 stars !!!

Ordered a Mediterranean vegetable salad, well done sirloin steak and the vegi burger. My mum is a vegetarian, they brought her a chicken Caesar salad. They brought steak pieces on a panini. The vegi burger was right but went cold waiting for the rest of the food. They sent the steak and it was rare. The vegi burger didn’t taste nice and the salad had no seasoning

Pleasantly surprised by this restaurant in Newtown. We visited for Sunday lunch and the service was excellent. It's a great venue and the food is of high quality.

Went for roast dinner poor selection of vegetables Cold meat and the gravey was like tap water. It needs to decide if it wants to be a bar or a restaurant can't be both. As a bar it's great good for a night out.

Had a fantastic night tonight. For my 18th me, my mum, dad and boyfriend went to 23 social for some food. We had a fantastic meal and they did me some love cocktails. The staff were fabulous all evening. To top off the evening, they did me a chocolate brownie with a candle and they played Happy birthday over the speaker. It truly made my night and j couldn't have been more thankful. It even made me quite emotional. Can't wait to go back Saturday for some more cocktails

Very disappointed- slow service just for drinks. Not very helpful staff. And this was at a very quiet time of day with 12 people in the place.

Average, at best. The burger was bland and the chips were under cooked.

Had meal tonight with 6 other work colleagues. All of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals. I had the cajin chicken burger. Really enjoyed the meal. All staff really friendly and efficient. Look forward to going again

Recently booked the meeting room at 23 Social. Booking was simple, stress free and tech support was available when we arrived for any I.T assistance setting up. Coffee, tea, biscuits provided in the price. Highly recommend.

I went for lunch there yesterday with my children (two boys aged 4 and 18 months). The food was lovely, with lots of choice on the lunch time menu - I had the panini which came with a side salad and fries. Friendly and welcoming staff, who were great with my boys even when they were a little excitable. The place itself is spotless, modern and beautifully presented. Thank you 23 Social!

We waited an hour, we was told they were short staff that was fine, but when were still sat there waiting when other people come in after us we had 3 children that was hungry waiting patiently, we was told our food would be next but then someone else got there's. So we walked out after waiting over an hour. Will not be going back to try again. Didn't even get apology.

Excellent table service by our hostess Dawn, great atmosphere throughout the night, wait time wasn't long considering we didn't book in advance, will definitely be visiting again especially when Dawn is about!

Drinks are good, service is also good. Vegetarian options feel lackluster in taste. On one visit I had the vegetarian burger which was pretty good for a burger where the patty is a mushroom, thoroughly enjoyed it alongside the fries. However the vegan chili is a hard avoid unless you enjoy the taste of a tin of canned tomatoes. Personally I enjoy my chili with a less vinegary taste. Perhaps the menu hasn't considered that alternatives exist as all the vegetarian options revolve around vegetables. 5/5 for drinks and service. 3/5 vegetarian food.

Excellent food quality. Booked a table a week before but didn't have my details. Managed to fit me in. Settled eventually. Generally quite relaxed. Table for one is usually difficult.

Had the pleasure of eating out here this week, this is definitely an amazing place, so much work has gone into making this an open and accessible place for all to enjoy, its fresh and just what was needed. As with any new venture, there will be teething issues but for me the fact the owners are listening and rectifying any problems arising as soon as they can shows a commitment to the customers. The food was absolutely delicious, the prices are higher than what you may pay in the place across road, however you get fresh cooked local produce in Social23. Great selection of drinks to choose from, and staff are hard working, friendly and work to ensure your visit is a good one. Welldone to all involved, very enjoyable visit, was not disappointed in the least and will certainly be returning for more mango espresso

Dont normally go to places like this but I will definitely be back again. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The drinks and food are great and safe to say the venue itself is one of a kind.

Absolutely love it. Clearly a lot of hard work has been put into the establishment, staff are still learning but are so friendly and willing. Drinks and food are lovely and didn't think twice on wanting my hen do here. Owner and staff should be extremely proud

We booked a table and were placed in a booth. It wasn't the most comfortable because the seat was too high. I'm not tall at 5'10" and couldn't sit with feet flat on the floor. Shorter people probably won't even reach the floor with their feet when sat. The seat could've been quite a bit lower. Nice environment to be in. A lot of work and expense has gone into it. The staff were pleasant enough and attentive, without being too in-your-face. The beer selection wasn't great with run-of-the-mill lagers and ciders. After listing the drinks on tap, the waitress wasn't particularly knowledgeable. No cask ales it seemed. Only when we were leaving, I thought I spotted a couple in the distance at the bar. The food was very tasty, however it is overpriced given the portion sizes. Children's food, apparently, was also very tasty but again more would have been better. Some garlic bread with the tomato pasta wouldn't have gone amiss. We will return and hopefully feedback on portion size will have been taken on board. Should things change then perhaps it'd be 4 stars.

Went along to a launch night. Aled and his team have done an amazing jog with converting a shop to bar and grill, this will be a real assett to Newtown. Taster menu was lively and given a tour of the premises including conference room and roof terrace. Good luck abd will see you again soon.Taster
