Oh wow the decor from the outside tempting but looks expensive and shiny. Then you walk in and feel like you've walked into a diner from the legendary era of film and movie stars.
Only it's you that's the special occasion and your friends and family who love the inside and friendly feel of the singing and ambience. I love you all that you for making me feel at home.
Sweet potato fries and a black coffee is my recommendation.
Hope you enjoy as much as I did
Thank you
For a fish and chip shop, you would think they would know how to cook fish. My takeaway contained uncooked batter on haddock. In addition, the chips were a soggy mess having not be drained properly. A brioche bun chip butty??? Curry sauce was good, but guessing that was bought in. Maybe a bad night, but def not going back.
A really excellent lunch, friendly service, welcoming atmosphere. Honestly could not fault anything - it was all delicious and the apple pie was absolutely amazing. Will definitely visit again.
Went in for a relaxing drink after shopping and needing a sit down.
There is an indoor market, almost opposite this pub, which has lots of interesting stalls.
Asked if ok for our dog to come inside with us and he was warmly welcomed too :)
I had a lovely half of lager and lime which tasted great and was lovely and cold, hubby had a pint which he also really enjoyed.
Our dog was given a big bowl of water to drink which he greatly appreciated.
There's a big TV showing sport.
Everyone was so friendly in here, a great pub and well worth a visit if you're in the area.
Lovely welcoming team , the food was good pub grub standard , piping hot and good portions . Decor clean and modern , would be nice to have real candles on the table rather than battery ones 😀
Kept going back there to try different cakes from the extensive selection! And never disappointed! The breakfast (both vegan and non vegan!) appeared to be of epic proportions! The mix'n match crockery just adds to the charm of the place!
Great pub lunch, visited as a group of 8. Staff soon found a table for us and a drinks order was taken fast. Nice pub menu with an Italian theme, some great dishes on there. Food was very good as was the local beer from the lucky 7 brewery. Staff very friendly and helpful, great service. Recommend and would visit again
I rate this place not because anyone would think it a 5 star hotel, but because to me it was a 5 star stay. Cosy and friendly, comfortable and clean, and in a good old fashioned pub that serves food, it was ideal. Well equiped rooms, great location at the end of the villages high street.
Review for Afternoon Tea at Lake Vyrnwy Hotel:
We enjoyed a very pleasant afternoon tea in beautiful surroundings. However, there are a few areas that could be improved. It would be nice to have a choice of sandwiches rather than a set selection. The room was quite cold, particularly when guests sitting on the balcony left the door open.
The teapots were slightly tarnished, and the cake stand was a bit wobbly. The tables looked a little scuffed—white tablecloths would really help enhance the presentation. The hotel in general could benefit from a refurbishment to bring it into the 21st century. Also worth noting: cash is not accepted here, which may be inconvenient for some.
The decaf coffee was a little weak, and it would have been more welcoming if the waiter had asked where we’d prefer to sit, especially as the room was mostly empty, rather than directing us to a specific table.
On the plus side, the waiting staff were polite and friendly throughout.
Bacon and sausage sandwich on malted bread It fill a hole.washed down with tea hit the spot.
Mrs Vicar enjoyed her cheese and onion toastie and the Cornish pasties that we took away for later.
