The best restaurants in Wales

We had lunch here on Thursday. I am in a powered wheelchair, the last time we ate there, I was able to get in easily, but this time, there was some work being done on the back terrace, but the waiter went and got a ramp and made a lot of effort to get me into the restaurant. The food was outstanding, we asked the sommelier to choose wines to go with the dishes and they were all excellent. We pushed the boat out a bit, so the bill was large, but you get what you pay for, and they have, quite rightly a Michelin star. No complaints from us.

A fun place to take someone for a brunch or lunch

The meals were really tasty. However, I found the restaurant somewhat dull and old fashioned. I think this needs a make over. Also, why don't they make their own chips, fresh veg and onion rings? The steak and kidney pie my partner and I had was absolutely delicious and if it had not of been for this, I wouldn't of been impressed that we were served oven chips and frozen veg with the meal. I really think they should make their own home made chips and do fresh veg. This would bring even more custom to the lovely and very cosy pub and b&b.

What a lovely end to a fab evening. Thank you so much to the staff for fitting us in at zero notice. People who book and then just don’t turn up shouldn’t be allowed to enjoy such tasty dishes anyway…. Ah well… their loss… our gain. We’d never usually be able to get in with a few weeks notice, let alone a few hours. 10/10 for not turning us away. We kept it simple, steak, chips, onion rings and pepper sauce… with a refreshing Sprite. Don’t judge… it was the end of the night. And it was divine. 10/10 for quality, value and service. We even had a show off another table. They were quite rude when challenging the owner, and even though she explained her process and ingredients, she still removed things off their bill at their request. They refused to drink their Liqueur coffee creamers (even though one of them still did drink it after they had their reduced bill). They prolonged the whinging even after it was dealt with. I would like to say that we didn’t allow them to ruin our evening, but in fact it was so hilarious that it added to our enjoyment. Just felt bad for the staff. We sang Christmas carols over their negativity as they left and hope they enjoyed our beautiful voices. Overall, amazing food, amazing people! Top tip, remember to be decent. And merry Xmas to all.

The two male owners are the most delightful people; friendly, efficient & welcoming hosts. The ambience is first-class, & breakfast was fantastic. This is a gem. Parking is tricky, but with some jockeying can be accomplished quite easily. We had a brilliant stay there.

Have previously been a few times and have had a good experience with the staff, offering suggestions on games and general etiquette, but this time I found the staff were quite rude and were very keen to get us out the door near closing time, appreciate we all want to go home on closing time but with the nature of board games, sometimes we need a few minutes to wrap up! (This plus the fact we had to wait 10 extra minutes after our original booking time anyway, not a very welcoming experience).a real shame given I’ve had many good experiences here in the past.

Nicest cafe in the area, top notch food and service as usual.

Amazing icecream especially the cheesecake flavoured. Really enjoyed mine but didn't get to finish it as a sea gull swooped down and stole it from my hand....Will definatley go back for more.

What a find !!! Visited this wonderful family restaurant for lunch and was not disappointed. Cosy, homely restaurant with a very friendly owner, cook, waiter and chief bottle washer all rolled into one. Fantastic home made Italian food with wonderful taste and worth every penny. Will definitely visit again and so should whoever reads this review.

Well off the beaten track with no reception for satnav! Fabulous food - Sunday lunch was plentiful with wide variety of vegetable dishes - a bit different to the usual bog standard accompaniments. Very good service from friendly attentive staff. Definitely plan to return.
