On our journey home from north Wales we called in at The Lost Arc for lunch.
It is a lovely, unusual place; a cafe with real character.
We sat outside in the lovely garden.
Draft beer and lager was available which delighted my husband and sons.
The food was delicious. Pulled pork flatbreads and rolls (plus vegetarian options) soup and a daily special. I chose quiche and salad, which was excellent along with all of our meals.
There are cakes and ice creams available. In the evening there’s oven fired pizzas and the venue hosts live events.
The added extra was the kindness and friendliness of the staff. Everyone appeared happy in their work and were lovely to us.
Nearby there is a woodland walk along the river Wye.
On arrival our table had to be cleared and set up which wasn't the best way to start. Once we had ordered our food we then had over an hour's wait. By the time it arrived we didn't feel that hungry.
The salmon came with new potatoes, however, these were black in places, warmed up and inedible...my friend's steak was a combination of medium rare and over done!
Think the problem stemmed from the fact there had been a 40th birthday party earlier and the two staff were struggling to cope with everything. If we had been informed of the large group, we would have rebooked.
Not a great experience and probably won't be returning.
Lovely tearoom in a quiet spot which was perfect as I was looking for somewhere away from the busy town centre. The scone with jam and cream was delicious, and the coffee was good too.
Great food, but its COLD in the restaurant so wrap up warm and cash only.
Properly cooked steaks and incrediblle triple fried chips !
The Bread Pudding deserves an Oscar !
I am planning my next visit as I write this. 😍
Our first takeaway from The Anthony’s, saw an add on FB for fish and chips, so gave it a try. Didn’t disappoint. Huge portions and the beer batter was delicious.
Definitely recommend and will be back.
We went in as a family of 5 with a wheelchair (having to turned back from another pub which we couldn't get the chair in). We loved it from the moment we walked in - the SA flag on the wall did help, as the well as the Halloween decorations - madly busy but fantastic fun.
The staff were really helpful and friendly and the food, although a long wait , it was exceptionally fantastic - obviously made to order too!
Look forward to returning, hopefully at Christmas.

Just a wonderful little oasis of calm tucked away behind the bustle of Newport city. Lovely, lovely friendly, warm people serving great home-cooked vegetarian meals inside what is a peaceful art gallery and picture framing business.
We had the fish and chips and was great! Reasonably priced, good portions and yummy food. The gentleman who served me was so so lovely, nice and chatty and gave us recommendations on what to do in the area whilst on holiday. Even our dog got a sausage! Thanks for the great and friendly service!
Great Pub and Campsite. Richard and Caroline with the locals made my stay warm and welcoming , even had a guitarist to entertain one evening.
Although WiFi is only available in the pub and not on the campsite it is not a bad thing if you want to be back to nature.
Recommend the food and the beer all locally sourced and cooked to perfection .
We booked to have the meat platter and what a feast !!!!. Beautifully cooked and served with a smile with the owners more than happy to discuss the menu and spend some time speaking to us about the area and their obvious delight in their cooking skills. There was plenty of food, the chips were fab and our grandson wanted to come back the following night. We’ve eaten in some wonderful pubs and restaurants across Britain and Europe and this I must say is up there with the best. Exceptional” Arbennig”.

my favourite place to eat in Bangor, this gem will always be first on my recommendation list! The host is so wonderful and friendly, the food is amazing prices considering portion sizes and the taste of the food is even better. 10/10
When I come to bagillt to see family we always choose this takeaway it's really great tasty food, good price and the owner and his family are lovely very kind and nice to talk. There are lots of places in flint etc for Chinese but hands down this is the best
