Anthony's in Carmarthenshire

Our first takeaway from The Anthony’s, saw an add on FB for fish and chips, so gave it a try. Didn’t disappoint. Huge portions and the beer batter was delicious. Definitely recommend and will be back.

Had a wonderful roast dinner reasonable price and lovely atmosphere and friendly staff .highly recommend will be going there again .

Why did it take us so long to return? We live just five miles away so there's no excuse. But what an utter joy to return to Anthony's: Booked via FB a couple of days before (VERY quick response to my initial email) and turned up a little early to find the place reasonably full. Warmly welcomed by one of the bosses and she did remember us - a good sign. Ordered prawn cocktails starters (just about the best ANYWHERE), one scampi and one surf and turf. Weren't kept waiting long between courses and the quality of the cooking, the selection of vegetables and the presentation was utterly superb. These two courses were filling enough to deny us the chance of puddings - but there's always next time. And we won't be leaving it as long before the next visit!

We were recommended here for Sunday lunch, and wow it certainly didn't disappoint. An absolute gem of a find. The owners were so accommodating. We had the Roast Beef for Lunch and my son said "Sorry Mum but this is the best roast Beef I've ever had, and the roasties and the gravy". The meat literally was melt in your mouth. Portions so generous and André brought out extra roasties n Gray for my boy. The vegetables were plentiful and cooked beautifully, so much extra gravy. Delicious.Affordable and a lovely atmosphere. A real traditional good old fashioned pub. Wish there were more of these around. 100% recommend. Thank you Bev and André . 🙂

One word - splendid - describes everything about Anthony's Hotel. While living locally we'd never been so between Christmas and New Year sent a Facebook message asking if they were open. Prompt reply said yes so we booked for two and popped down the following evening. From the start we couldn't have had a more warm welcome. The couple running the place know what hospitality means! The tables were VERY well laid, with menus on each and the dining area, bar and seating spotlessly clean. When we visited the decorations (tasteful I might add) were up. Ordered two prawn cocktails with mains of lasagne and chicken tikka. The prawn cocktails were utterly splendid, the mains equally so, and well-presented: good-sized portions of high-quality food on good plates. Come the bill the total, including one pint and tonic water, was just over £33. In all, excellent value in every respect. going back very soon!

Went for the second time last night lovely food and a great couple that run the place .Will be back as soon as I can , Bit sad a table didn't turn up and they other people wanted a table ,if you know you won't turn up phone early so they can use the table for someone else . Very nice, welcoming, out of the way place, we went early on a Wednesday evening so had it to ourselves. This suited us, but we didn't want for good conversation! Andre the chef came out for a chat, what a nice interesting man. Food was lovely, from a good menu. I bet their Sunday lunch is fantastic. We're planning a return trip to Kidwelly next year, we'll definitely go there again. And if you want a nice after dinner walk, Kidwelly Quay is a step over the level crossing. We got there just as the sun was setting, fantastic red sky, saw bats skimming the water and listened to Oystercatchers and Curlews calling from the opposite bank and in the reeds. Wonderful evening.

We visited here last night after moving to the area recently. We only found this place by chance visiting kidwelly quay, so we decided to book. Anthony's is a lovely small welcoming pub. Considering we had never visited before we were had to feel very comfortable. Two of us had the sneak and rib, one of us had a lamb burger and the other had creamy chicken with garlic and herb. All of us were more than satisfied, the portions were large and everything tasted amazing. The prices are more than reasonable and would recommend anyone and everyone to visit, we can't wait to go back for another visit and try the rest of the menu!

Heard some reviews about this place so we thought we give it a go and we are so glad we did.The place itself is quite small but that's to the ambience of it.The food was absolutely amazing and filling which was a pity really because I did fancy some of the desserts as well.The woman behind the bar was lovely and I think she was probably the owner.Would definitely recommend this place to anyone and as soon as I get my next weekend off I be booking again...They don't except cards only cash but that was explained when I booked

Really glad we came for Sunday dinner. The meat was delicious and loads of Veg and Gravy. Lovely old style pub setting, 5 star food hygiene rating and really good size portions / value for money and really friendly staff. I would recommend. Also, nice to support local businesses.

We stumbled across this place when we were out walking, so we decided to book for the friday evening. The portions are massive so no starter next time. Food was very nice. The only downside is that you have to pay in cash which most people don't do nowdays due to covid.

We've just got home after our first visit to your pub for 40 years. The welcome was warm and cordial and the restaurant was covid safe. Our Sunday lunch was hot and tasty. Unfortunately, owing to the portion size of the main meal, we had no room for one of your puddings, which we will try on our next visit. We will definitely be back, thank you.

This place has been run by Andre and Bev for a number of years, warm friendly welcome, good food, the only tip is go hungry, as the food is very nice and ususally you are full on completing it. Great choice of beers as well.

Tuvimos un almuerzo de 2 platos domingo hoy aquí con 5 amigos y fue comida casera en su mejor. Selección de carnes con todos los acompañamientos, la carne era liberar a la boca, 6 verduras diferentes y salsa deliciosa. No es un capricho asados, servicio de camareras por el personal muy amable y servicial. Gran selección de postres, y todo por 11 con un café de cortesía. Las porciones eran grandes y ninguno de nosotros pudo acabar la comida, así que nos ofrecieron llevar cartones para llevar a casa, así que el perro estaba feliz. Sin duda lo recomiendo.

I did a trip during 3 weeks in the U.K.. I visited 21 city's but in Kidwelly I found a very charming restaurant with very fresh and delicious food. It was marvellous!

Eaten here a few times over the years and still just as good. On holiday from Yorkshire and popped in for an evening meal, very good value particularly the specials at under a fiver! Friendly, clean and good food.

We have visited this restaurant many times and have found the food to be the best in Kidwelly. The quality of the steaks are second to none and we have even met the farmer who supplied them on one of our visits.

They've recently decorated the side room and have a specials board with lovely tasting dishes. I would recommend the fish full salads, very yummy and a big plate full!

He comido en este restaurante familiar desde que era un niño y me encanta llevar a mis hijos aquí para la comida ahora. Reservamos una mesa para seis para el cumpleaños de mi madre que sólo pasa a ser el comienzo de la temporada de la cena de Navidad. Mesa estaba bien decorado con galletas, para sacar a todos y adornos de Navidad. Teníamos el menú de dos platos por £10,99 , ya que no había dado nuestras opciones previamente teníamos tanto Turquía y carne de nuestros platos con roasties, patacas chirivías, budín, relleno y cerdos de Yorkshire con mantas. Eso fue complementado con un plato de patatas hervidas y brotes y otro plato de zanahorias y judías Bobby (un conjunto de cada una entre 3 de nosotros) acompañados por un barco de salsa.Siendo sin gluten tuve todo lo mencionado arriba excepto el relleno y era el primero que se sirve en vez de como en muchos lugares como el troublemaking después!La carne y Turquía estaban cocinados a la perfección y se derretía en la boca.Había mucha comida en la mesa que 4 de nosotros en vicios las delicias de una caja de comida para llevar - estaremos comiendo una cena completa en casa y disfrutar plenamente.Habiendo dado tiempo para digerir nuestro principal el chef salió a hora habíamos disfrutado y dirigido a través de la opción de budines. 4 de nosotros fuimos la Navidad pud con brandy sauce, 1 fuimos para un enjambre cheesecake que parecía impresionante y que tenía un menú sin gluten toffee pudding con crema pastelera. Todo lo que era muy sabroso, tenía que ser comido, a pesar de que casi no había espacio suficiente!Nos ofrecieron café o té, que llegó con mince pies y mentas de chocolate.2 horas más tarde todavía no puedo Bend y desearía haber ejercido más auto-control era demasiado bonito!Fue una agradable atmósfera, no teníamos prisa y no había ninguna necesidad de no cabíamos los dos en la presencia de un menú sin gluten, a pesar de que la reserva se habían realizado más de un mes antes.Sin duda volveremos, aunque la próxima vez voy a morir de hambre por las 24 horas antes y tratar de resistir a la tentación de comer mucho.

Tuvimos una comida fantástica en viernes a pesar de que no tomar cualquier efectivo para pagar. No aceptan tarjetas, dijo que los propietarios sin ningún problema, me mañana. Por supuesto, nosotros lo hicimos. La comida es de muy buena calidad, con muchos extras en el plato no sólo los guisantes, patatas fritas típicos, etc. Tuve merluza, cocinado a la perfección con patatas fritas, ensalada, guisantes, anillos de cebolla y guisantes todo por menos de 10 libras. Having arrived late in Wales a local recommended we go here when we needed to get food quickly. The food was quick, tasty and the staff were lovely. Plus the had wifi which was a great use when planning the next day.

Me sorprendió que reservamos una mesa para dos en 18:40 durante la semana, el beneficiario en el otro extremo del teléfono parecía muy relajado y tuve que casi insisten en dar mis más detalles. Cuando asistimos a pesar de nuestra reserva, nos pareció que el establecimiento cerrado, nos llamó a la puerta y hacía un ruido general y eventualmente una sin duda la juventud abrió la puerta, no había ninguna conversación ni disculpa, estábamos. Fui al bar y esperamos podía oír conversación pero nadie que sirve finalmente la seguramente la juventud que abrió la puerta nos sirvieron con dos bebidas no alcohólicas. Unos 45 minutos después de haber reservado la mesa lo mismo sin duda la juventud tomó nuestra orden, para ser justo con él parecía estar haciendo todo. Mi compañero pedimos el pastel de carne, nunca he visto un pastel de carne servida con coles de Bruselas como componentes principales!!! Mientras estábamos comiendo nuestras muy decepcionantes nuestros locales de comida y vino de Concejales locales que fueron recibidos con un mucho más entusiasmo que estábamos, el propietario cocinar decepcionantemente nada cerca un jefe salió todo el mundo compró una bebida excepto nosotros, hablar sobre políticamente motivados en kidwelly. Mi sugerencia es que no vayas a menos que viven allí,

La comida era excelente y el servicio era genial, yo y mi familia y amigos me sentí tan bienvenido era como hemos estado yendo allí durante años. Ya que ver todo lo que comer, tiene que ser justo, me pidió al jefe si podía orientar la grasa fuera ( lugares en los que he estado antes de que sólo huff y esponja ) estuvo más que atento para hacerlo. La ensalada es lo que una ensalada debe servir una muy buena. El bistec era justo. He probado en muchas ocasiones para reservar el almuerzo de domingo allí y siempre lleno. Es un lugar de visita muy peculiar por dentro, pero la comida es fantástica.

He comido aquí unas cuantas veces y la comida siempre es muy buena, caliente, sabroso y fresco. La recepción del equipo desinteresados es variada, a veces sientes que estás en lo posible por estar allí, esto ya que me desanima a regresar varias veces.

Día del Año Nuevo fantástico almuerzo. Si lo que buscas es tradicional, casera, comida y grandes porciones, este es el pub para usted. Nos quedamos una mesa de 15 personas y muy bien cuidado. La comida estaba muy rica y abundante, justo lo que necesitábamos después víspera de Año Nuevo. El propietario y casera era realmente amable y genial con todos los niños. I ate in this hotel / pub the other day and was very impressed with the standard of the food served . Highly recommended . I was impressed with the selection on menu and the service was vey friendly .

Mi esposa es salmón ensalada era todo lo que debería ser ... un generoso suculento salmón filete cocinado a la perfección y acompañados de hojas frescas frescas mezcladas con tomates, pepinos, pimientos, col, remolachas, queso, piña y profunda alegría, huevos duros. Todo servido con un vestidor ligera. Eso es lo que llamo una ensalada.El pastel de carne que encargué fue excelente, servido caliente con una jarra de salsa y unas patatas fritas caseras acompañadas de una guarnición de ensalada. Realmente debería haber parado allí, un hombre que me cargaran sin duda han suscitado una bandera blanca después platos, pero me sentí obligación de probar el pastel de manzana con helado ... alguien tenía que hacerlo ... y puede que así sea! Never a disappointment. This family run pub has a good selection of meals and the chips are heavenly. We eat here at least once a month and are always impressed by the consistency of quality. Thoroughly worth finding right by Kidwelly train station.

we went on Friday 20th june and had a lovely meal. Beautifully cooked and portions huge. Thoroughly Enjoyed.
