We didn't book so went hoping we would get a table. It was very busy, always a good sign. They had a free table as long we vacated it by 1.30pm as it was booked then, as it was only about 12pm we had time for lunch.
The staff are friendly and efficient. The macaroni was delicious, creamy and with the applewood cheese tasty. The best i have had in a restaurant. My husband had southern fried chicken coujons, it came with chips, salad and coleslaw, a good plateful. We would certainly recommend this restaurant.
Warm, friendly staff and prompt service. There are some tables at the front but also a lovely room overlooking a small garden through the back with more tables. Dog friendly. We stopped for coffee and cakes (home-made empire biscuit and a scone) but they had a lunch menu which looked good with soup, toasties etc.
Personal amable y acogedor. Grandes opciones de menú. Todo lo que teníamos estaba bien presentado y sabroso. Calamari, Halloumi a la parrilla, King Prawn Shish, pollo y cordero todos sabrosos. Sin duda recomendaría y volveremos.
As it was the last night of our holiday we decided to dine at The Colintraive, and we were happy we did. The staff were cheerful, friendly and polite, and others in the pub were also friendly, providing a lovely atmosphere.
The food was amazing; well presented and really tasty. We would definitely recommend a visit here. We did book beforehand, as we'd been warned that they can be quite busy at times so it is best to make a booking.
Booked two nights (Aug 10-12th) here as we were ending our Scotland trip, and it was a perfect place to finish.
Parking is provided in a lot or along the quiet street. It was a little confusing at first glance, because there are two buildings (across the street from each other) labeled "The Star Inn," and one of them had a sale sign on the outside.
After realizing one had a locked door, we headed to the other where we were greeted by locals and directed to the bar for service. It took a couple minutes for the bartender to finish up and greet us, but she was lovely and promptly checked us in, grabbed our keys, and showed us the way to our room across the street.
The first thing I noticed was the incredible smell! It smelled amazing, fresh, comforting...l considered asking how I could bring the smell back to the states. The walk in area, halls and room were spotless and cozy. The bed was crisp and fresh, and the bathroom was huge. Numerous fresh towels and toiletries were provided. There was also tea, water, a small fridge, a television, menus, WIFI, a small desk, lots of outlets for charging, and nice lighting.
The Inn is within walking distance to the water, and there are some small shops that weren't open on a Sunday. It was about 15 minutes of a drive into Inverness, and about 5 minutes from Inverness airport.
Would absolutely recommend staying here, we loved the small amount of time we did!
Fantastic wee cafe with the most welcoming and friendly owner! Had a lovely breakfast roll with a coffee, my son had some pancakes with butter & jam and a hot chocolate! Two very happy stomachs afterwards, that's for sure! Such a bright, clean and airy space with fantastic views over the bay (just across the street).
First booked the Sorn Inn for an anniversary meal for 17 people and everyone (including children) loved the food.
Have been twice more and will be back for the new set menu on Wednesday.
Fantastic food and our host David was very friendly and nothing was too much trouble.
Chef's menus are fine dining but at reasonable prices.
Certainly our new place to eat out.
Thanks David.
A fantastic place to come for lunch. The food was amazing! I came with my partner and my friend’s family (4 adults, 2 kids). 2 of the party have dietary needs- 1 celiac and 1 who has a lactose intolerance. I have to say, not only was the food fantastic, but the Gluten free options were fantastic, and the staff were amazing. Not only were they friendly, but they all seemed to have fantastic knowledge of the foods they were selling and the allergens that were in them. We were really impressed and actually returned a second time. The second time was just as good as the first. Definitely worth a visit!
Reviewed this place positively well over a year ago and - if anything - it is even better. Customers were queueing out the door and along the pavement. The staff, though very busy, seem to juggle every task with good nature and fun. Kelly, in particular, is amazing. The food is always fresh, hot and tasty. Just a pity it's not open 7 days, but then, everybody is entitled to time off and this is quality, not quantity. The home baking is in a class of its own.
What can I say? Absolutely stunning presented food. They say you eat with your eyes, well it tasted every bit as good as it looked. Good service from the waiting staff.
Very reasonably priced, I've paid a lot more for mediocre food elsewhere.
Overall, excellent. No complaints at all
Certainly, I will be visiting again.
