Nar Mediterranean Turkish Restaurant in Highland

The restaurant has really good food and fairly well priced. We shared a platter of food and it was delicious. Great location too.

We stumbled upon this restaurant and boy what a find. The food was excellent, good size portions and a reasonable price. Our waitress Orla, was lovely, very informative, friendly and chatty, but not overly so. If we are back in Inverness we will definitely go again.

With the rain cancelling our plans for a tour to the Isle of Skye, we had to find a way to entertain ourselves in the bucolic city of Inverness. We had an early dinner at Nar, great fun for a non-haggis option (not that we didn’t enjoy our experience with this very Scottish dish). We have sampled a wide variety of Mediterranean and Turkish dishes, and the Baba Ghanoush was one of the best we have sampled. We shared two mixed grill plates, such was our appetite, and rounded it out with an our favorite Turkish wine, Yakut.

After many adequate pub meals on the West Highland Way, we were ready for something of higher quality and with more flavour. We were not disappointed. We both had chicken shish; it was good quality, well-spiced and perfectly grilled. Waiter was prompt and friendly. Nice ambiance and convenient central location. A little more expensive than your average restaurant but worth it!

Great food, cooked well. Excellent service and helpful staff. We ate there 2 nights as it was so good. The calami starter was exceptional. As was the king prawn shish, and the lamb chops. Highly recommend.

Looked forward to a nice easy dinner for my wife and I based on the reviews. We both ordered the fish (cod) and chips which at 15 quid per person were steep but we reckoned given the rave reviews it will be worth it. They claim it is lightly battered and fresh - exactly the opposite arrived at our table. Terrible thickly battered fish ( not battered by the chefs but pre ordered probably bulk frozen packs like you buy in the supermarkets) - the fries were old and off and the salad the same - avoid !

Wow, great food. Yes, it’s not cheap but you get a lot for your money. The staff were lovely, friendly and efficient. It has a nice ambience, very relaxed.

I was visiting Inverness for 2 nights/3 days... both nights ended up coming to NAR because the food was SO good! I got the chicken platter and hummus app both nights, and the food was so flavorful and fresh... I wish I could ask the cook his secret! My waiter, Rahid, was so kind and welcoming as well. If I ever make it back to Inverness, I definitely want to go back to NAR!

Called in for an early dinner of great grilled meats and salads coupled with some exotic grilled halloumi and calamari…..the service was brilliant and the food was fresh and hot. We grazed away and enjoyed the ambience of the restaurant as well as the beautiful decor. Thanks Nar - brilliant and a real change from the same old pub meals on our journey!!!

Very nice food, attentive waiter. Would go back again. Had the sharing trio to start followed by the lamb adanas, both were excellent and good portions. Wine a bit pricey.

It's a great spot for that Mediterranean flavour. Large portions are good enough for two and great service. It's worth a visit if you are in Inverness.

Mixed grill and baklava and ice cream, red wine and cider, very reasonable priced, when chatting to waiter we said we were out for our anniversary so he gave us complimentary Turkish raki and baileys, lovely thoughtful touch. Recommended by family we went in. Very busy restaurant is always a good sign. It's not an extensive menu but you do want to eat everything on it so picking what to eat was difficult. Needles to say all four meals we ordered were lovely and good value. Well worth a visit

First visit to Nar for dinner and did not disappoint. With another couple we opted for sharing starters then sharing platter for 2 when it arrived and we saw the amount of food we actually thought that was between the 4 of us but out comes another platter it was amazing the meat cooked so tender. We also liked the Chardonnay wine we had very nice . All in all a great first experience and would definitely recommend 👍 if I was to moan about anything it would be there was only 2 serving customers and they were run off their feet but very nice X

My wife and I were walking down the street and saw the menu posted in the front window. We love Mediterranean food so stopped in for dinner and we were glad we did! The shrimp skewers were excellent as well as the chicken shish. The main dish was accompanied by rice, couscous and salad. The flavors were very good and the portions generous. Finally, try the baklava for dessert— tasty and not too sweet.
