When you spend £160 on cocktails between 2 people that don't drink very often, you should at LEAST feel tipsy....neither of us did. Enjoy the place, but the cocktails are absolutely mocktails.

Stopped in and had dinner with my family here and was not expecting much at first but, boy, was I wrong. The place has a very cozy atmosphere to it with nice soul and jazzy music playing in the background. The staff are very nice and patient. The food was pretty good too. I had the flatiron steak which was simply delightful! We also ordered the turkey which was pretty tasty too! Also love “The Godfather” poster/fan art in the bathroom!

Worst customer service. The bold waiter guy is very rude. UPDATE 2.0: changing your review to look more “polite” after I replied again? Seriously? What a shame. Never coming back. UPDATE: I want to write an update after the “owner” replied to my review! Just for everyone’s information reading this, I have never ever in my life wanted to reply to someone’s review so badly! First of all, the owner who is trying to blame the customer for being “rude and impatient” is so unprofessional at first place. Secondly, I never said a single rude word to your waiter. But he did say some bad words to my wife and I. And he threw a receipt in my face. I wish I had a voice recorder and a camera with me to share your waiter’s behaviour. Keep protecting and trusting your employees, while they are rude to customers. I think you guys won’t be open for a long time. Never coming back to your place.

Had a chicken burger which was very nice, and a few beers. It was a Sunday afternoon and quite quiet. Service was very good. I imagine it would be a good spot after work or on a Saturday afternoon. Worth a visit if in the area.

We had an amazing time. The service made this experience even better, Maia was incredible, made us laugh, feel comfortable and uplifted, and was attentive. I have never experienced service this good before and believe she is an asset. The food was amazing with great portions size and cooked to perfection and the cocktails and atmosphere added to this. Would highly recommend when in town

Went into book a table for the evening was told it was a long shot to get anything. As the servers tablet only told him what was coming in best to go online and book. Which he done for us and yes there was availability. Turned up for booked table and after a time our drink order was taken along with food order. Music and surrounding sounds so loud waitress had an issue hearing us. Food served and was good ordered a Cajun chicken burger and Cajun coated fries have to say bit of Cajun overload normal fries would be better! Waited about 10 mins for plates to be removed and not even offered to look at desert menu or if required anything else. Had to request bill and found the waitress quite rude she asked and who is paying. This is our second visit here and unfortunately it still didn’t satisfy. Feel if you’re not in a group or known to staff then well u don’t fit in to their criteria… and knowing this is Johnny foxes sister restaurant the atmosphere and friendliness of foxes is above and beyond no mater how busy you always get a warm welcome and very attentive service… won’t be visiting or recommending jimmy badgers

Thought it was a wine bar and it's much more than that. The food selection is very good. The seafood tagliatelle and mussels was so tasty

I'm now planning a trip to Inverness because I received an accidental missed call from Jimmy Badgers and love the name the guy who answered the phone was very apologetic and friendly, we'll make the 10 hour commute for a pint soon.

Inverness no es conocida por tener una cocina inusual y fantástica. Es por eso que Jimmy Badgers es uno de esos lugares a los que puedes ir porque la comida es agradable, el servicio es amable y eficiente y está muy bien ubicado. Es uno de esos restaurantes que no nos sorprende pero nos da comodidad y nos da una comida muy agradable.

This restaurant was welcoming and a warm refuge for an Aussie tourist looking for a meal on a cold and rainy night in Inverness. I ordered the steak and ale pie, which came with a puff pastry topping, peas and golden crunchy chips. It was the best pie I think I have ever had. The meat was falling apart tender, and the sauce was so flavoursome, the kind of dish that takes hours to braise. Fantastic! The staff were attentive, returning to my table often to see if I needed anything. The restaurant was crowded on a Sunday night with locals, families and couples. Top place

Amazing place good food here really quick to come and just an over all good place service is good they kept checking up on us and food prices are reasonable and cheap and comfy chairs😍 just not many places to park near by

This place seemed to be more of a club than a restaurant. Sever misunderstood us both having a steak for us wanting to share a steak, didn't want to put in an order for a second steak. Table next to us was so rowdy I got a gin tonic flung over me. Over all negative experience, music was super loud. The steak itself was good and well cookes albeit a bit small for the price.

Popped in at lunchtime for a drink and a bite to eat. Only one other table occupied. Ignored when we first went in so headed for a table ourselves. Waited a considerable length of time while the waitress took the order at the other table and chatted with them. In the meantime another couple came in. After waiting again, the waitress took the other couples order. We were on the table next to them so it was difficult not to see us!. We were completely ignored so got up an walked out. Terrible ignorant and rude service.

Tuvimos un tiempo increíble aquí. Los cócteles fueron hechos por expertos. Probamos algunas de las opciones de platos pequeños y todos estaban deliciosos y bien presentados. El personal era agradable y servicial. Para una comida casual fría con ambiente lounge de cócteles este lugar no puede ser superado.

The food and drinks were excellent, but the service left a lot to be desired. After being seated, we only saw our waitress once, and she seemed to be less than thrilled to be there. After waiting a loooong time for our check, we finally had to signal for someone. A real shame, as I really enjoyed the food!

We stopped in after many of the other local restaraunt were full for dinner, and found that Jimmy Badgers is a really cute prohibition themed bar. We started with a Biscoff Martini dessert cocktail that was sweet and heavenly, I can’t recommend it enough. We then ordered food: the steak and ale pie, a side of onion rings, and a flat iron steak. The steak and ale pie was good but served in a small dish with a massive puff pastry crust that was really difficult to eat. Came with fries and peas that were both cooked well. The flat iron steak came on a warped cutting board with a small cleaver knife. It was difficult to cut given the utensils, a bit tough, and unevenly cooked. The roasted vine tomatoes were good in theory but impossible to eat because they did not pull off the vine. The onion rings had a funnel-cake like batter around them that was light and interesting, some pretty good onion rings compared to other places, but were very oily. Overall it’s a cute spot for really good drinks, but the food is only okay. It was so close to being really good but lacked the finesse of other restaurants in the area.

Had dinner here twice, and haven't been disappointed. The food varied and the cocktails delicious. The 1920's theme was an added bonus as the decor was subtle but well done. The staff so friendly. Loved it.

We went to eat there for lunch. It was really very good! We had the chicken wings and mini bugers as a starter, then the iron steak and the jbs steak and ossian ale puff pastry pie And for dessert, caramel pudding! A treat The bar is very pretty and comfortable. Mains are between £12 and £20, starters less than £12 and desserts less than £10

Tasty cuisine, only reservations are the customer service and the long wait for someone from the staff to take an interest in you.

Was in today for lunch. Passed it a few times and always seems really busy but today it was nice and quiet. The decor was lovely, staff were very friendly and attentive and the food was outstanding, can 100% tell its all fresh and locally sourced as the butcher walked in while we were waiting for our meal. Will definitely be back.

It took an over an hour to have someone to take it drink order, then at least 45 minutes to get food. This is a tiny restaurant, a lot of the staff are walking around doing nothing, not would they look at us, ask how things taste...don't go here EVER!!@@

Lovely, welcoming staff from the beginning. We ordered mussels in white wine and garlic, they were delicious but extremely small. The crusty bread was warm and filling. Flat iron steak was nicely cooked and chips were fresh, warm and tasty. The steak ciabatta was flavoursome. We had a cocktail and beer followed by 2 rums we had not heard of, staff helped us choose by offering information on these. All in all, a nice, relaxing dining experience to be recommended.

Loved the food and drinks! Also loved the vibes and decor - very fun. The Cajun chicken burger, chicken curry, and steak pie were delicious. Service was excellent, would love to come back.

We got in from Glasgow on the Monday 6:19 Intercity train. By the time we got to our accomodations and were ready for dinner it was 8 PM. Many restaurants are closed on Monday, and we had no reservations anywhere. We stopped in at a couple places and were given 90+ minute wait times. Walked into Jimmy Badger and were seated right away. Ordered cocktails that were delivered promptly, were perfectly balanced and exceptional. It was late, and the first two starters we wanted were sold out. No biggie. They were obviously popular house specialties. What we did order arrive hot from the frier with little delay. Dinner arrived shortly after our starter was done. It was hot, well prepared and tasty. The staff were at all times attentive but not intrussive: exceptional service. I couldn't ask more from a restaurant - especially as a walk in.

We are visiting from Canada and so happy to have found this place! My kids ate chicken wings (which were amazing!). Another member of us has a gluten sensitivity which they easily accommodated. Their cocktails were fabulous and the service was great. Decor was posh yet had Speakeasy vibes. Prices were reasonable. Highly recommend!

Ate a steak and burger. Fine for what it cost. Because there are so many other dining options, we will try them too. Otherwise I would definitely have come back.

Enjoyed a nice drink (cocktail) and dinner. The burger is tasty, but was a bit overdone. This makes it too dry, which was a shame. The mussels were also tasty, portion was medium (and not large, as described on the menu). Price-quality ratio for dinner was not in balance. The staff and the atmosphere in the shop, on the other hand, were good!

Fabulous restaurant. The serving staff were very sweet to us, and the food was excellent. I had the Mac and cheese with wild mushroom bruschetta, my dining companion had the wild mushroom risotto. The portions were generous and we were delighted by the assortment of mushrooms (including real chanterelles in season at the time). We also enjoyed the fruit and cheese plate after our mains, and had a fantastic chocolate dessert. We got there towards the end of serving time and as we were finishing our meal a DJ set up for the evening entertainment. He gradually brought up the volume and intensity, but never so much that we couldn't have a comfortable conversation without raising our voices. As we were leaving I complimented him on the music and he explained that he saw we were eating and kept it down, but assured us it would be "much louder" for the late night drinks and dancing crowd. My dining companion declared this to be his favorite restaurant in Inverness. I agree with him!

Quick stop for a late lunch. We had a small muscles starter, which was large and extremely good. The haggis mac and cheese was perfect! Great service and nice place for a drink and food.

Visiting the city and had a table booked here for food and drinks. On arrival with my mother and 2 friends (I was carrying a small plastic cup with about half a gin given to me from a bar we had just visited due to my mum not drinking as quick as the other ladies) I went to take a drink from the cup and the bar man literally swiped it from my hand and face. He could have easily asked us to drink outside or asked to take it away. He was rude , aggressive and we all walked out The staff including manager when challengend on this shouted at us and told us not to come back This is aggressive behaviour , and should not be presented in a social environment at 4pm I have to confirm we had 1 drink before , were not drunk and treated like teenagers in a tough bar at 2am Poor show The shouting from the bar “don’t come back” says more about your staff that the bar We will certainly not come back and will ensure any friends or family never visit again either

Chicken with haggis and whisky sauce was fantastic and very reasonable. Staff were friendly and attentive.

On my way back to Norwich, after riding the Hebridean cycle route. 4 good days , although weather was not ideal . Looking for a simple evening meal, before an early train tomorrow. The wild mushroom risotto was fantastic , easy to eat, hitting the spot , and frankly the best risotto I have ever had, prawn tempura was good too , but the risotto was unforgettable. MANY THANKS FOR THE EXPERIENCE.

We stopped in a few other restaurants in Inverness and were ignored or turned away due to no reservations. As soon as we entered, we were greeted and seated. The service was quick. The food and drinks were terrific. We will definitely be.back during our stay here.

Good atmosphere and excellent food

Walked in with my husband was seated right away, then waited about 20-30 minutes and no one came to the table for us to order. Other people walked in after us and ordered and were served drinks while we were ignored for some reason. No one ever came so we got up and walked out.

Just what we wanted some Chips and burgers. Delicious!!!

I didn’t have high expectations of the food here - but we had the best meal. The flatiron steaks were perfectly cooked, the Cajun chips hot and the salad had a lovely dressing. Along with the bottle of Merlot, it was just perfect.

A lovely place for a few drinks. We were travelling from Scotland to London on a Monday evening and we stopped at Jimmy Badgers. We were looking for a friendly bar that we could sit in for an hour or so and this fitted the bill perfectly. We had a few pints of lager each and looked at the extensive cocktail menu. The cocktails looked fantastic but it just wasn't the right time for us. We were served quickly by the bar staff and we were treated well. The people around us seemed to be enjoying their cocktails and they weren't holding back. Definitely worth a visit.

I am so pleased that we tried this lovely cocktail bar. It serves great food, and the service was friendly. We went on a Monday lunchtime, and there were not many people in, but the decor, music & welcoming staff helped keep a nice atmosphere. I have walked past a few evenings, and the place is full. Well worth a visit.

I love cocktails, so I was excited to try this place after seeing it advertised at a roundabout. I have MS, so I like to find somewhere to eat and spend a couple of hours enjoying cocktails - so we booked with the intention of staying for a couple of hours. I found the girl who served us short, impatient and unwelcoming. I asked if the devil's margarita (spelled wrong on menu - like margherita pizza) was like a spicy margarita, to which she said "yes but its not spicy", so I said I'd just like a spicy margarita, just that"..to which she said "so you'd like the bloody mary margarita (which wasn't even on menu so I had no idea what it was), and again I told her I just wanted a spicy margarita. She said "OK, so a bloody mary margarita" as she wrote it on her pad, to which I asked what it was and if it had tomato juice in it, which she confirmed and I, and my husband clarified that I just wanted a margarita but spicy. She looked at me like I was speaking Dutch and appeared to be getting annoyed. I was brought what looked and tasted like a breakfast juice in a tiny glass with ZERO spice or lime juice and had a rim of what tasted like fajita seasoning. I don't mind paying for decent cocktails but I felt thoroughly ripped off. Any place coined as a cocktail bar, should be able to make a classic cocktail like a margarita! I was so disappointed we left immediately. I loved the decor but it was cold and smelled strongly of fish.

We were looking for a place to eat a bit late in the evening but avoiding big chains. We decided to give it a try as it looks like a just a cocktail bar and it was the perfect choice!! Tremendous burgers and good pricey.

Lovely couple of hours spent here yesterday. Fabulous cocktails and the food was incredible. We went for a selection of small plates, to be shared and none of us were disappointed. The staff were super attentive, without being too much, they were friendly and chatty. This is our second visit here and just love it. Will be back soon.

Didnt have any food , had some cocktails which were really good , Nutella martini especially but the place was let down by the lack of atmosphere and a couple of boozed up idiots annoying a group of girls , the management had a few words but it didnt seem to get through so we left ,plenty of other places locally for a quiet drink

What a super find on a trip to Inverness. A modern cocktail bar, welcoming atmosphere with friendly, professional staff. Food was tasty and nicely presented and together with gorgeous cocktails made a perfect evening.

We struggled to find an open place because it was New year and then we walked into this one and I can say we have no regrets. The food was amazing, the Lads who attended to us and took our orders were so warm and welcoming. The mocktail? Amazing!!! Oh we really had a good time here, would definitely recommend!

We enjoyed a lovely pre-Christmas catch up at Jimmy Badgers, with fantastic cocktails, brilliant food and delicious wine. Service by Ruaraidh was friendly and attentive, definitely five stars from our party!

Was really busy but service was very efficient. Nice Christmas atmosphere. We tried a lot of the tapas style dishes and they were very good. The selection of drinks available was great too. Would highly recommend.

Would recommend booking but we were very lucky to get a table. Satuday. Perfect service. Tasty cocktails i.e french martini, pornstar, appletini. Small plates of 3 haggis bon bons with clapshot and sliders of 3 tasty burgers. Already looking at making a new booking.

If mansplaining is your thing then this is the place is for you. Came for a few nice drinks only to be bombarded by a hyper bartender throwing random information at us. All we wanted were a few quiet drinks. If they replaced the badger looking fella then this place would be 5/5. Lass behind the bar is onto something good. More of this please. Hate to give a bad review but the small scruffy bartender just ruined the almost great experience.

Food is insanely good. They also make a local cocktail of the week that’s very nice. Have I mentioned the food is amazing? Highly recommend

Had friends in our group eat the night before without a reservation. When we went we were turned away at the door. Restaurant was half empty too. Too many places to eat for that kind of service.

I never would have thought a 1920s themed bar would be something I'd find in Inverness. Prohibition meets the Scottish love for Whiskey. But here I am in Jimmy Badgers. Never one to turn away from a Gatsby bar, I went in with high hopes and left with even higher adoration. Jimmy Badgers had amazing drinks, a great atmosphere and all tied together by incredible food. I got locally caught and sourced fish with copious amounts of cocktails. If I could say one thing it would be to get the 'Tommy Gun' cocktail. The price was a little above average but they made me an offer I couldn't refuse so it was worth the money.

I booked a table for 6.00 pm, fully aware that "Your table will be booked for 2 hours for parties up to 6" we were a party of 2. We ordered drinks and 5 "small" plates, which arrived quickly and was good. However, when my wife returned from the toilet, I asked for more drinks, only to be told that we only had the table for another 15 minutes, it was 6.44! She then went on to say that we could have drinks but was insistent we had to finish them in 15 minutes. My wife asked about having the table for 2 hours, she looked at watch and gave an audible 'sigh' and then went off to talk with a colleague. She returned, without our drinks, and informed us it was OK because they had rearranged things. At this point, we decided to leave as we did not feel welcome in the establishment. It was only then that she said sorry. I do NOT think it's acceptable to be audiblely sighed at by someone who doesn't know their own policy. Just plain rude.

We went to inverness for dinner without booking which was a mistake. Admittedly this place was our plan z PURELY on how it looked. It doesn't look great from the outside to us (2 women in our 30s) it looked a bit like a pool bar/wannabe dodgy night club from the outside. Aside from the luminous lights inside it was actually super nice . The food was cheap and reasonable for the price. The drinks were excellent with a wide cocktail menu. Best thing was the staff. There were 2 young guys who really went out of their way to make sure we were OK without being too attentive. We couldn't stop telling people how nice the staff were and they helped make a night which had disaster written all over it in to a great one.

Excellent tapas with great wine. We loved the quality of the tapas accompanied by a Chilean merlot. The ambiance is very good. Nice music and good service. Highly recommended.
