Right in 'the middle of nowhere' is definitely somewhere to go! Actually a beautiful part of the world - right next to 'The Bridge Across The Atlantic' and with an amazing history - hence the name meaning 'House Of Trousers'! On top of all this - great food and great service too. Can recommend highly.

We felt very lucky to have visited when the 5-course tasting menu was available. The pheasant, scallops, and savoury choux buns were particular highlights, but the whole meal was delicious. Excellent, friendly service too. Made our month, thanks!

We enjoyed a gourmet 5-course tasting menu for £30. Wonderful value and proper cooking! The chef is brilliant and the service slick and friendly. The chicken and black pudding bonbon was exquisite, the scallop in spicy Nduja butter served in the shell sealed with pastry was creative and delicious, the pheasant excellent and the lemon posset a glorious finish. Congrats to the team. This venue is on the up and up and we’ll be back! More tasting menus please!

We have visited seil island for many years and the tigh n truish has always been a welcome stop off for a drink on the way back to our holiday cottage. We haven't been for a good 4 years so we were happily surprised at the refurbishment of this gorgeous pub. There is a proper bar on one side where you can have drinks and a crack with the locals, or a beautiful restaurant area the other side which is really high end, lovely furniture and amazing food. We were blown away by the quality of each course, the service was brilliant both in the bar and restaurant. The only down side is that they shut a few days a week. 10 out of 10 tigh n truish truly loved our experience, well done chef.

We called in here for an early evening meal in the restaurant and it was the best meal of our trip. Service in the bar beforehand was warm, the wine was lovely. We both ordered trout for our main course, and shared chips with aioli and a side of vegetables. All the food was delicious, cooked to perfection. Waiting staff were friendly and on hand, the view was great and even the background music was pleasant and not too loud.

My recent visit to Tigh an Truish wasn't just a meal; it was an enchanting escape. Nestled beside the iconic Clachan Bridge, the inn itself exudes a warm, welcoming charm, like stepping into a storybook cottage. But the true magic unfolds on the plate. This is a welcoming and well laid out bar and restaurant with friendly, helpful staff. There's nothing wrong with the food either. It's the predictable and unadventurous menu that lets the place down. On a Sunday, you can get soup, pate (or rillette), fish and chips, burger and chips, beef roast, sticky toffee pudding etc, etc. pretty well anywhere in Argyll at numerous hotels, restaurants and even bars. Any competent cook can produce these dishes. What you'd expect from a chef with MasterChef Professional skills is a menu with flair and adventurism at its core. What you get is, well, just boring.

I ate the best Beef Ragu with Papardelle I've ever had. Venison burger, mussels and vegetarian casserole were all delicious. And there's the great view out front of the "Atlantic Bridge" and then a stroll out back to a spectacular view across to the Isle of Mull from the Puilladrobhrain haven. Heavenly and now we've got to figure out how to go there again! Probably should try staying at the hotel

This was to be holiday highlight food wise, great reviews and all that malarky. Lets begin..... The menu was small but that is to be expected in these times and with its location. No problems with that whatsoever. Starter - Ham Hock Terrine. Reasonable portion, just right for a starter. Very nice as well, with a lovely garnish. Main - Venison with Fondant potato, broccoli stems and a jus. Not enough to feed a sparrow!! Small portion of venison cut into about six pieces, a small block of potato and two broccoli stems. That was it for £23, no other vegetables. The food was beautifully cooked though. Dessert - Sticky Toffee Pudding. This came with a very nice ice cream and superb toffee sauce. However, the pudding had never seen a date in its life. I can honestly say it was the worst to ever pass my lips. Dry with a slight crust, the one you get when its seen the microwave too many times. It was like a cheap supermarket cake, slightly overcooked. To sum up.... Lovely starter then it all fell apart. Poor portion size for the main and a distinct lack of any vegetables on the table, excellent for what was there though. The ice cream and toffee sauce saved us from complaining about the pudding. We didn't complain, as what we had just did enough to stave us away from that. The cheese and crackers took a right good hammering back at our rented cottage.

We found the Isle of Seil almost by accident, and took a chance walking into the Inn and bar area to see about lunch. Much to my delight, the staff were able to help me find, not some boring and bland gluten free meal, but actual real fish and chips, cooked in a separate fryer! I have been gluten free for 11 years, and this is the first fish and chips I have been able to eat out, and I was so excited! We started with the carrot and coriander soup, which was beautiful. My wife and I holidaying in the area had 3 absolutely superb meals each in the restaurant. We had a Rib Eye Steak dinner on the Sunday and it was the best steaks we’ve ever had. After such a great meal we returned for the lunchtime pub crunch menu in the week. ( think it’s an autumn / winter offer). It was soooo good we returned the next day to try more of the menu. For a £20 3 course menu ( there is a supplement for steaks) you couldn’t ask for better value and tastier food , the venison sausages with onion gravy and mash are amazing especially with the addition of pickled brambles. My wife had the Hake in Crab Bisque with Chorizo and was equally impressed. On our 2nd trip my wife had the Mussels and we both had Steaks again equally as good as the Sunday meal. The staff make you feel really really welcome and Chef is obviously very passionate about his food and his business and comes out to see that everything is ok. A lovely gesture at the end. Some gorgeous home made bread for our homeward journey. Looking forward to seeing them again next year This place is great. Go and eat there !

We went sent here by Jan and Daz from the Garragh Mhor, and we're so glad they did. Brilliant vegan options and excellent service. The menu had a couple of vegan options already but the chef offered us some additional options and we enjoyed our mushroom risotto and celeriac risotto dishes very much! The starters (mushroom soup and watermelon/mint salad) were lush. The manager kindly added a fourth flavour of sorbet to the trio we ordered, and we 'tasted' it for them - hope they add it to the menu, it was a fabulous mango flavour. This pub also has a Tesla charger (Type 2 / 22kw), the only downside being it's a very tight space to manoeuvre into - we struggled a bit but the management kindly moved their own cars to help us squeeze in. Very helpful as we have further to go on this trip. Highly recommend you book ahead and stop here for a meal.

When you spend £160 on cocktails between 2 people that don't drink very often, you should at LEAST feel tipsy....neither of us did. Enjoy the place, but the cocktails are absolutely mocktails.
