Never had to negotiate so much to use a toilet in a cafe. We went to the counter to order a drink. I asked for a coffee and my friend asked where the toilet was before she placed her order. We were told she wasn’t allowed to use the toilet unless she intended to buy something. She said she intended to buy something but wanted to use the toilet before thinking about what she wanted to drink. We were told again she couldn’t use the toilet unless we had ordered. I said I’d order for both of us while she was at the loo and even this seemed to be a problem. I was on the verge of abandoning the cafe when she was finally ‘allowed’ to use the toilet. Utter jokes.
