A tourist trap that unfortunately holds monopoly on this prime location. The community would be better served by different operations here. Something that the council should address

Loved the location and live music on a beautiful sunny Saturday but disappointed with the expensive food - a cheese and ham toastie was £9 plus and was just the usual with a few sad crisps at the side. Nice tasting lentil soup but again, overpriced. However the setting was lovely and we enjoyed our time there. Just wished we had stuck with a coffee only.

Was here last Sunday. Coffee & Food was alright, nout special tbh. The attitude of the entitled owner leaves a lot to be desired though. My wife was giving him our order, and half way through he started taking the order of someone who walked from the side (and skipped the que for others behind me) and didn't even apologise when he decided to continue to take the rest of my wife's order. Another weird thing is he is only open outside, he has some decent space inside but he doesn't want to open it for some reason

What a waste of a brilliant location. Great music lovely views. Chalk boards not clear at all what was available & prices. Ordered soup - payed £7.50 each. Very disappointed when it came in paper coffee mugs & those appalling flat wooden spoons. Tiny roll with no butter. At that price I would’ve expected at the very least a proper bowl, spoon & a nice piece of bread. Surprisingly not busy on a beautiful day with lots of people walking about - obviously locals who know the score. Don’t mind paying a little extra for location etc but this is taking it too far. Definitely won’t be back.

Such a waste of a phenomenal location! Wildly overpriced and spoilt by an unwelcoming owner, supported by teenage staff who appear to be frightened enough of him that they can't do their jobs. Bizarre set up where hot drinks need a small mortgage, baked goods are hidden in a counter out of view, and using the toilet (as a customer not passer by) requires making multiple requests, being told off, and then escorted through two makeshift barriers to the unclean facilities. The fact the owner responds to negative reviews by writing genuine customers off as 'trolls' says it all about the attitude issue here. Sad!

This place upsets me, or should I say....The Owner. His attitude is beyond obnoxious. I wanted to pay by cash but was refused.. I must remind that cash is Legal Tender by order of His Majesty the Crown. Check it out, it's LAW! A rude and unreasonable man ruins what could be an amazing establishment, and way beyond the price of any other Cafe, location means nothing when it comes to pricing, he is phoney with that rhetoric. My next step is to report Him to Trading Standards. The obnoxious behaviour and disrespect to the public is beyond reasonable or acceptable, and not worth the visit. Please believe that the public have no cause to Lie about him. Go and see for yourself.... Be prepared for a person that states people's honesty and genuine reviews about the attitude and place are trolling. We are not. We are people that have had genuinely bad experiences here and the anger of a man that won't accept criticism or honesty.

Terrible experience. The man, presumably the owner, was rude, condescending and unwelcoming. Having nipped in for a coffee after a lovely walk along the front, we got settled at a table and wanted to quickly use the bathroom before we made our drinks choices. We were told, in a far from friendly manner, that we must make an order before using the toilet and that those were the rules. After reassuring him that we would be making an order he continued to speak in an unpleasant tone. As we left to go elsewhere due to the rude treatment he proceeded to speak about us loudly to another customer saying how he’s had enough of “customers like them”. I am still in shock over receiving such treatment for no other reason than needing to use the bathroom before ordering.

I'm a local and unfortunately cannot promote this business. I was out for run along the seafront. I had decieded to stop off to buy some water and go to the toilet, and then stop off a coffee on the way back. I needed to powder my nose first, and because only one loo was in operation they only allowed one-in, one, out. I stood behind a lady who was waiting outside. The owner shouted out from the counter and in front of the other customers that I needed to buy something if I wanted to use the facilities, or use the public loos on the seafront. I didn't want to shout back in front of everyone that I intended to, so I just nodded my head in acknowldgement. When I made my way back to the counter they had put a chain up so I had to look at the server to undo it so I could get out. When got to the counter I asked for a bottle of water. The server went into the shop to get it and the owner shut the door for a couple of minutes, obviously speaking with the server. I was thinking to myself I bet he inflates the price. Next thing the server comes with the bottle of water and asks for £3.20! (to take out)!! I told him I wouldn't not pay that much and would not be back. The owner should have served me with his over priced water and not send a young lad to do his dirty work!!! It was an uncomfortable and humiliating expeirence. He has no business sense or customer service skills whatsovever. So shortsighted. Shame because the place has SO much potential if in the right hands. It's in a nice spot and has a great view.

About 8 young staff members walking around quite aimlessly. Lots of chalk menus, half rubbed over. Quite confusing what was available. Told at the counter they could only serve black or white coffee today, that we couldnt order a cheese toasty, it had to be cheese AND tomato. No gluten free bread, but then told that all the cakes were gluten free? Told no iced coffees available either. 5 minutes later i see iced drinks and cappuccinos being brought to tables? Toasty did look good, as did the hot dog. Probably wouldn’t go back. The staff were nice but inexperienced in my opinion. Classy kids but need some confidence. This place has idyllic views along the Firth of Forth. BUT When my husband was ordering I asked for the loo but wasn’t allowed until the payment was cleared - which took 5 or more minutes as the payment wasn’t taken until all the drinks and cakes were served. Then I had to ask again as he had forgotten and in front of everyone, he opened a chain to let me through to the loo. Then a mum with a little boy had the very same issue. The poor boy was hopping around and the server was in no rush. The mum was rightly furious. This is degrading and inhumane treatment and assumes everyone is a criminal. Then it turned into a complete tantrum in front of a reasonably busy cafe, about how "we had all missed it and we had missed out" and how he had only received a 1 star review for this, after all his efforts. He then proceeded into a tyrant about people using his toilets and people vandalising them. He was obviously quite angry and felt it appropriate to vent to his customers! It was a very strange approach to try to pull in more customers or returning customers. The people in the cafe area were all feeling a bit uncomfortable (and giggling) and several people left quickly. My partner and I ate our food v quickly and i didnt dare ask to use the toilet!!! Lovely place with a gorgeous view but that's the only positive. £26 for 2 toasties and 2 coffees. Wouldnt have bought if I could see the prices - should have asked but wanted to use the toilet which you can only do if you sit in - I am not sure this is legal to be refused to use the toilet especially if you still want a take away. In the freezing toilet nowhere to dry your hands. We visited on Saturday during our beach walk, latte machine apparently broke so got luke warm white coffee which tasted pretty average, it was basically black coffee with added milk, no foam, my partner mocha tasted more like hot chocolate than mocha. I could make better coffee at home and believe me, I am not a barista! For the price we paid, very disappointing. Toasties were ok but again hard to justify the price where I can get a proper meal somewhere else for the price I pay for their toastie. Inside area to sit in freezing but with a nice view of cramond island. Not to surprise you, I wont be back, even if I was desperate for a coffee on my walk... Extremely expensive for what it is. £26 for two toasties and two chai lattes. Toastie was nice but not worth £8.

This cafe does not display prices on its menu or at the till point presumably because if they did no one would buy anything. Out for a family walk on Saturday morning while hubby did the park run and the kids asked if we could get a hot chocolate so ordered 3. We were charged £6.50/ hot chocolate which I had tapped for before i could do the maths. I think this is even more expensive than the Princes St Christmas market. While we were trying to enjoy it and the beautiful views across the coast the manager came in to the seating area our classic FM on the radio at full blast and club music in the outside queue area. It was far too loud for my 3 year old to handle so we left

Got a coffee, it was supposed to be illy which is usually a nice brand that I've drank many times in the past from different establishments. Absolutely no flavour to it tasted like a cup of hot water, don't recommend.

No prices on display on blackboards outside, inside seating was closed and no menus so nothing obvious displaying price. Very expensive, £12 for a hot drink and a toastie. Toastie was pretty good but not worth that much! Toilets not in great repair and no hand towels or dryer.

Great location but really poor value for money and general vibe. Two toastiest and cups of tea (served in paper trays and paper cups £29.50. They don’t have any prices displayed so you only find out you’re being ripped off once you’ve ordered. Toasties were nice but not £10+ nice. Also no way to dry hands in the toilets.

Walked Out. Had a drink after a long walk. Menu very very poor "street food" they say??? Rubbish food at more than double the prices of poor overpriced London 'street food'. If you are going to run a 'community service' as the owner calls it, it costs money to run... so he says. No normal family can afford that and for the prices you expect quality not paper cups and plastic plates with not cutlery. Gluten free options? No menu. I would not trust them - its chaos! Dreadful place.... better avoided. The owners have nothing but $$$ painted on their eyes! I wont be back.

Can it possibly be over 9 quid for a takeaway tea and takeaway hot chocolate. Just looked at my account and couldn't believe it. Quality was nothing special - a basic tea bag and a spoon of hot choc mix. Really??

Insane prices. £10.70 for a small tub of ice cream, ice lolly and mint tea in a paper cup. Convinced I had been charged for something extra, I asked for a receipt. It was barely legible due to lack of ink. I'll never be back!

This place is chaotic. My husband and daughter had cheese and ham toasties stone cold on the inside. No savoury food available if you are gluten free so I just had an ice coffee. Almond milk advertised on the board but was told there was none so ordered an iced americano. First of all was brought a hot coffee then got my iced one and then a second iced American was brought over. No one seemed to have a clue what was going on with orders. Nothing to dry hands with in toilets. This place is in a great setting and has the potential to be a great wee cafe but currently over priced and service shambolic!

Over priced, chaotic service and only average coffee Avoid!!! If I was reviewing settling then this place is fantastic with plenty of chairs on the grass looking out to the forth. Prefect for when the sun shines. Now the service. You you que at a random desk and not the serving hatch/window. There is no menu or prices listed!!!! It's card only and you get no receipt!!! £10.40 for a tea, flat white and 500ml bottle of water. You wait and cups are handed out. In the disorganisation my order was given to any customer. Over priced, poor service, average quality coffee shop with an amazing settling with a captive market.

One of the worst restaurants I have ever experienced. Ordered food as a group of 23 people. This was served individually at regular intervals of 20 minutes, spread over 3 hours. Was absolutely ravenous visiting this place . Food on TripAdvisor looked good quality. Feels like a fast food restaurant. Service and food was quick but I was hoping for a bit more of a dining /restaurant vibe. The chicken tacos were a big miss. But my partners burger was good ! Stick to the burgers here!
