The burger was brilliant. First time both of us tried haggis and it worked with the burger so well. All of the menu sounded good and the place is located perfectly. 10/10

the blue cheese burger was really salty and the burger meat was not particularly high quality. the BBQ looked better but I didn't try it

Very good food. We've only been there once, but I haven't heard any negative opinions among my friends who had the opportunity to eat at this restaurant. The only minus - but for me a very important one - is that the restaurant smells of an old basement. Unfortunately, this discourages me from visiting this place again.

Food coma incoming. Stick a fork in me, I'm done. Fab meal - meaty heaven, as if God was a sausage and archangel Gabriel was made of brisket. Great vibe & service, and leave room for dessert because the chocolate brownie is a chocogasm.

I feel the price of the burgers was hugely over priced given the fact they tasted and looked like cheap processed meat and had several bits of grizzle in it.

A great American smokehouse style experience, can't fault it on price either.

Have to say I was impressed with this place. I came when it first opened and thought it was good. This was my second visit. The slow cooked meat was great. Portion size was good. And the price overall was well worth it. If you love bbq food this is probably second to none in Edinburgh. The location is great too. Bang in the middle of the city. The waitresses were friendly and funny. I would recommend this place for anyone who likes tasty comfort food.

We visited yesterday afternoon with our two children and it was the most lovely experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff couldn't do enough for us. The food was amazing and everything, even down to the child's ice cream, felt 'extra'. We loved it and will certainly be back!

Dined with 6 others, ordering a range of different food from the menu and everyone enjoyed their food massively. Juicy flavourful brisket and pulled pork, and great in-house made sauces for all meats. I used to have a local BBQ place that was amazing down in South England, which has gone down hill massively- this reminded me of the glory days! Thank you for having us.

Brilliant food in this place. Easy to miss on the Royal Mile as it is only a doorway and the actual eating area is underground. Service was fast - atmosphere was ok in there. Worth going for the food definitely.

Extremely overcooked and dry. I tried the brisket, the ribs and the chicken and they were all extremely dry, tough and hard to eat.

2 words attracted me to this place, "Dirty Donut". This is the restaurant's double bacon cheeseburger with glazed donuts for buns. It actually tastes way nicer than it sounds. The overall atmosphere of the place is nice with american licence plates on the walls and a good selection of music. Overall, theres no wonder I keep coming back every time I visit Edinburgh.

Really lovely staff and cool place but the food was just a bit lack lustre. Found the brisket and ribs overcooked and just unnecessary amount of BBQ sauce. BUT garlic parmesan fries were really, really good and so were the shakes. Maybe it was an off day or other menu options are better!

Wr ate after checking the menu online & booked a seat. Worst seat In the place right at the back infront of toilets. Food looked great on menu but was massively let down on arrival. Average burgers, chips & meals. Coke served in a can and charged a ridiculous amount for. Good on paper, average at best when visiting

The meat was dry and chewy for the most part, unfortunately. It was only saved by the sauces. Sides were good. Prices weren't too bad considering it's a tourist hot-spot.

Das Essen war insgesamt gut, das Brisket war hervorragend! Das Ambiente fand ich super was die Deko und das Konzert angeht, nur leider saßen wir bisschen nah an der Tür und das war im Winter nicht so angenehm.

Bien sans plus, attention aux 10% rajoutés sur la facture. Dépendamment du jour de la semaine il y a des des offres à prendre en compte. Un peu chère meme si normal pour une zone très touristique

Belly was bursting after this one. Ribs and the brisket were my personal favourites. The pulled pork was rather bland imo

Chicken burger was basically a glorified Mayo Chicken from McDonalds for £12.50 Cool decor and polite staff though

It's was great food and aesthetics but the brisket is too dry and toilets are small apart from that I would recommend.

Came to Edinburgh to watch Wicked at the Playhouse and was looking for somewhere to eat that wasn't the same as what we have near us. We stumbled upon what looked like maybe an underground bar, but on closer inspection it was an American themed restaurant, menu seemed reasonably priced so we headed down the stairs, the place was quite small but looked decent. I went for a burger in a Donut and maple syrup! Sounds an odd combination, but it was pretty good, could have done with maybe a chilli jam instead of what I think was strawberry jam though. We also had a side of garlic and cheese chips and chilli and bacon macaroni. The portion size was pretty decent and very tasty. Definitely coming back to try the plate of meat the table next to us ordered, that looked amazing!!

Food was dry and flavourless, when I approached the waiter in regards to this I was told I was wrong and that she’s been serving the same food all week with no issues. After hearing about how good bubba Q was meant to be I’m really disappointed, not sure If I’ve caught them on a bad day etc but it was simply not good enough.

I had high hopes for this restaurant but was really underwhelmed with the food. Inside my burger was pink in parts and got about 10 chips. It’s understandably a small building but the toilets need some serious tlc and the state of the baby changing facilities, felt very unstable, I had to hold it up while propping my knee under it and no bin for nappy’s! I guess it’s a good place for students but not families. Please note you enter by a huge flight of stairs descending into the bar.

Cold rushed out from kitchen food. Overcooked chips and hardly any of them . Very uninterested staff. Overpriced. Really flat and uncomfortable atmosphere. Cold pulled pork and tacos, chips burnt.

The food was insane! £39.99 sharing platter was the best meats I’ve had in a long time. The ribs just fell off the bone, Mac and cheese was delish along with everything else on the plate. Service was great but the food won the dinner date.

We got the full meat platter, everything was horrid, the brisket was dry as the Sonoran desert, the wings tasted so intense like old chicken, the best thing was the Mac and cheese which lacked salt. Service is good, food is lacking

Locale molto carino, in centro ad Edimburgo. È in stile americano.Oltre alla carne alla griglia, hanno tacos, hamburger (patty) e hot dogs. È piccolino, noi non abbiamo avuto problemi a pranzare di venerdì, ma nel weekend consiglio di prenotare. Unica nota sul servizio: la cameriera bionda ci ha messo molta fretta, dall'ordine al pagamento, nonostante il locale fosse mezzo vuoto. Dovrebbe lasciar rilassare di più i clienti. Prezzi nella media per il centro (2 hamburger, 1 coca, 1 birra, 1 patatina, 1 caffè: 40£ ca.)

Tucked away off the royal mile, this place is a hidden gem. A very cosy and stylish setting where the food is great quality and very tasty!

I'm not sure if we came on a bad day going by the reviews but i thought the food wasn't good at all. I ordered the brisket and it was dry. I got the garlic and cheese chips on the side which had a thimbles worth of parmesan and a tiny dollop of garlic mayo. For £20 it was seriously disappointing and won't be coming back.

Nice and cool place , great food and kind stuff. Burgers, ribbs, chips, nachos.. all great taste. I would definitely recommend

An American place. The place is cozy and nice and the food was also very good.

Not the easiest of spots to see from the main road but well worth finding! Meat tray was excellent, the couple of on tap beers on offer were good. Nice selection of condiments, 3 "in house" sauces were good. Plentiful portion sizes and sensible pricing for a city centre. Will visit again if im ever up this way. Er indoors said the cocktails were nice aswell!

Een beetje teleurgesteld. Je gaat met een trap naar beneden en kan dus niet de straat zien. Als je maar een paar dagen in Edinburgh bent is dit totaal geen aanrader, maar heb je trek in dit soort eten dan kan het voor jou misschien wel lekker zijn. Het is dus misschien persoonsgebonden, maar ik had hier liever niet gegeten.

This unassuming restaurant located in the heart of Edinburgh has a wonderfully American feel, with memorable artwork and licence plates giving a detailed backdrop to enjoy our evening. We split one of the sharing options and were amazed by the quantity and variety of food served to us. Chiefly, getting to try a doughnut bun was a unique and interesting experience.

Menu has changed since my first few visits, gutted I couldn't get the pitbeans anymore. However, what we did have was all still very tasty. Will be back : )

Cold, old food - felt microwaved from day before! Strong smell of damp/mould in restaurant, dust everywhere and old looking furniture/ plates and cutlery just looks dirty- do not recommend.

The place has the best food ever! Really cannot fault this restaurant. The slow cooked meats are amazing and the cocktails and milkshakes are just as good. I have been twice in 2 months on two separate trips and it is amazing every time I cannot recommend enough!

Alright American food. Amazing atmosphere and strangely some of the best onion rings I’ve had in a long time.

We ordered chicken wings, brisket, a burger, fries, coleslaw, and corn ribs. Overall, the food lacked salt severely. Everything tasted a day old. The wings lacked seasoning and weren’t properly sauced. The brisket was the best of the mix although it also lacked salt/seasoning. The burger was odd. The toppings were fine but the beef itself ate like a sausage patty not a burger. The corn ribs looked and tasted at lease a day old. The coleslaw looked that it was just recovering from a tough night—like cabbage had gone through famine. The fries were ok but under seasoned and also ate a bit stale.

Oft!! Honestly 100% recommend to anyone wanting some BBQ bliss. The honey garlic wings were absolutely delicious and bursting with flavour The honey garlic tacos were absolutely incredible. So many different flavours at once and very filling The pork tips were again full of flavour and just melted off the bone The sides were bloody brilliant also. Garlic cheesy fries were to die for!!! If you're hungry in Edinburgh look no further. Plenty of options to choose from, and frankly why is all meat not pulled. No faff no fuss, delicious mex or tex mex, southern esque. Solid portion sizes not leaving hungry.

Amazing food and good atmosphere

Food was not great, a McDonald's would have been preferable. The social media for this place is what made me book a table, the food looked incredible, but it is very underwhelming. Burger was cardboard, fries were bland. Food prices were what I would expect on the royal mile but the food was still way overpriced for what it was. The drinks are unbelievably expensive, £5.50 for a small beer bottle. Service was the very bare minimum. It is a tiny cramped space, basically so close to other people that you are having a meal with them. It is nicely decorated for one positive comment. I definitely wouldn't go back and would advise all to avoid, with so much choice in Edinburgh it amazes me they are still operating, no idea how they have 4 star reviews!

Brilliant food and brilliant venue

Ordered to takeaway and it was fantastic.

We’ve been here before and really enjoyed it, this time not as much. The fries are great. The burger not so much. We had the chicken bbq melt and the chicken waffle burger. The waffles were dry, the chicken on both were dry and I wasn’t a fan of the cheese on the burgers. Don’t think we’d be back. They probably specialise on beef burgers and bbq but if the chicken burgers are on the menu then they should be up to a higher standard I think. Server was lovely but felt a little rushed to finish up.

Food was ok, but the wings I had weren’t that great to be honest. However if you’re into pork and eat bacon I guess the place would fit you better, as they practically put that in almost everything. I was here with a group of friends though, and things turned out pretty well, compared to my expectations that is, but it’s not the best smelling place and the atmosphere of the place can be a bit too much.

Had a lovely dinner with my 2 friends. Can't complain much besides 2 minor details. The brisket, unfortunately, was a bit too dry. And they could've put the volume of the music a bit louder. Besides that, the place was top notch.

Fast friendly service and good atmosphere down the stairs off the Royal Mile. My burger was ok without being great, and what I thought was a side of onion rings to accompany for free the onion rings that came with the meal turned into just the single serve of onion rings. Madame's chicken wings, while tasty, were dry.

Was in before tea time so was quiet, the music kept the atmosphere decent, service was prompt friendly, food was great, decent sized portion was nice chilled experience would recommend. Only thing for me coleslaw was too shredded but that's personal preference.

Went when the Edinburgh Festival was on with my son, and they had a special on. Can honestly say the food was amazing.
