Food and service was excellent,as we're the staff,the only downside was it wasn't very warm!

Let me start by saying almost all my reviews are 5 stars. So rating somewhere as a 1 star is very unusual for me. Wife and I went tonight and had booked, which was good as it was v busy, so we had high expectations. We shared a starter that took half an hour to arrive and was cold. Staff were great, took it away and returned really quickly with a hot one, so not too sure why the first one took so long. Then waited ages for our main course and then ages to pay our bill. I'll finish by saying I'm 55 years old, we eat out a reasonable amount and aren't that fussy. But tonight I asked for the service charge to be removed from the bill, which the staff were happy to do. I can't ever recall asking to remove service from a bill before, so a first for me tonight. Such a shame, as what Corstorphine needs is a good restaurant and obviously lots of people rate this place, but I'll get a bus somewhere else next time, as Edinburgh is full of restaurants, so I've no need to return.

Food was good and service friendly if a little slow. The menu is a bit limited but we found something we liked both starter and main course. The portions are generous and two courses had us completely full. We didn't manage desert.

Haven’t been before but always meant to try the Torfin. Dropped it today for a late lunch & between us had the burger with whisky & peppercorn sauce & the quesadilla. Burger was delicious, quesadilla was large for a starter portion, but salsa could have been tastier. Service was very pleasant from young staff. Wine & food prices were good value. Would definitely return.

I took my Mum and Granny in and we enjoyed the half price burgers, who said they were the best gluten free burgers they'd ever had. My Granny enjoyed the cheesecake and can't wait to come back! The staff are always amazing and go above and beyond. Very cosy and dog friendly, highly recommend The Torfin!

Me and my girlfriend visited the torfin for their Wednesday night 50% fajitas. All the food was great even my partners vegan ones! All the staff were great! All round a great trip. We cant wait to come back for more

Can’t rave about this place enough. We had the roast chicken special and a steak both were outstanding. The staff were amazing and couldn’t do enough for us! Will have to come back soon and try their Christmas menu.

Whatever you guys do do not get a steak 50% of the steak was fat spoke to the management and tbh they really weren’t interested in discounting the steak took around 25 mins to get a drinks order after being seated would defo not go back

Well appointed rooms, a 20 minute bus ride from the city. Not your traditional hotel, very limited hotel services , actually 4 rooms above a very good restaurant. A little pricey though for what you get.

We weren't staying in the hotel but did get drawn in to the upstyle bar while taking a walk.

Had a halloween cocktail , tasted v watery not of malibu or bacardi notvworth the money x

Popped in for food on a Friday evening, fitted us in without a booking, was in the back restaurant area we were first in but a few more tables filled up the space. Service, was good prompt but not pushy. Decor is decent. Modern clean tidy. food was alrite. Chorizo chicken and lasagne and chips. Halloween cocktail was a nice treat instead of dessert.

We stayed 22nd October for 1 night- our stop off from Preston to Loch Ness. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. We are a family of 5 and a large dog, so we booked 2 rooms and brought our daughter (5) a camp bed. All the staff were very friendly and accommodating we would really recommend this pub with rooms. We dined downstairs in the dog friendly area and bought our dog an ice meal and a doggy beer which he loved. The human food and cocktails were also really nice can recommend the sea bass curry the bangers and mash my husband had was excellent also. Room at the front of the hotel was quite noisy as I’m a light sleeper so would recommend earplugs. On the whole 9/10 would love to stay again. Also the small cafe viro a few doors down was excellent for breakfast and. Also dog friendly xxx

Walked in on a Thursday night. The main waiter was just so helpful. He gave us s lovely table. My husband had beef quesadillas to start and fajitas for main. I had sea bass and potatoes. The food , service and price was excellent. Will definitely return when in Edinburgh again .

Have to admit it had been a few months since our last visit but didn’t disappoint, burgers were terrific as usual And dessert’s were to die for my biscoff sundae was just Braw but still light enough after a massive burger.

Jade was just fantastic a true gem. I work as a Head waiter so I know good service. Food was fantastic and the drink were reasonably priced. As for the review below come visit me we charge 12.5 percent on everything. Keep up the good work!

Great experience with friendly staff and atmosphere. Food was very good and they’re extremely dog friendly, not just dog tolerant.

The food is fine if a bit overpriced for what it is and the bar itself can be very dark. They need bright lightbulbs. Could be doing with changing their menu up a bit every so often too. But a decent local spot and pulls a loyal crowd. Dog friendly too.

Pricey! Fish and chips should include peas. To charge £1.65 (with 10% service) for the equivalent of an eggcup sized portion is ridiculous. I also object to paying service for drinks which are already a hefty price.
