Stayed here with my wife while attending a wedding at nearby Cornhill Castle. The staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast was good quality. Street parking was fine when we visited but I imagine it could be difficult when the town is busy with time restrictions in some areas. Staff helpfully provided taxi numbers to Cornhill. I thought it was slightly pricey although we did have a family suite. Good enough for a return visit though.

Recently had our wedding at Cornhill Castle. The location is stunning. The castle is also to a high standard and the rooms were amazing, luxurious and comfortable (especially the honeymoon suite). The staff went over and above and made sure the wedding went smoothly and that we were looked after at all times. We can't thank the staff enough, they really added a personal touch and made us relax knowing everything was in hand. Rooms, service and location all 5 stars. Unfortunately I have to remove 1 star as the food was not good. We paid extra for the beef and the majority of the guests have given feedback that it wasn't good. Groom was served an overcooked end piece which was barely edible so it was sent back. The next piece was edible but for a beef fillet at a wedding, just being edible is not really what we were hoping for. Other guests did say theirs was overcooked, tough and tasteless. The veg and brownie were also not to a high standard. We regret paying the extra charge for an upgraded meal. We advise future weddings to stick to the standard menu.

Beautiful day so decided to take the dogs for a lovely walk in the woods. Then we had coffee and cake as it was later in the day. Everything is delicious and home made. Great selection of food and different to the norm which is refreshing. Will definitely be back for a lunch to try some of the delights on the menu and we also liked the look of the crepes on offer in the takeaway shed. Lots of goodies to purchase in the shop and the cheese counter looks great and the cheeses are delicious.

So 1st and last time visitor ! Was recommended to me so made a trip for lunch. Ordered soup which both came luke warm so requested that they be warmed up to eating temperature. Take 2 on return one was slightly warmer the other still luke warm. As am not one for take 3 spoke with staff to ask if I could pay as decided to go elsewhere, no charge (not eaten) but the soup "apparently" take a while to heat !! Offered to heat "again" but thought after 2 attempts, not. It should be good to go from the off otherwise why serve cool soup. A less than satisfactory experience and to be honest not a great ambiance, my wife thought seating was uncomfortable. Sorry but that's how we found the place 😐

Everything you want from a Main Street pub in Scotland! The beer selection was fantastic, the service was lovely, there were plenty of places to sit inside and outside, and there were lovely people to chat to at the bar. There was a man with a beautiful dog named Dave who was the highlight of my day! I love that the bar has so much history and has been standing for hundreds of years! Highly recommend a visit to Biggar to check it out!

I stayed overnight and had dinner bed and breakfast. I chose it because it was in a pretty country village and was quiet. The people running the place were very friendly and the room was well appointed. Food was OK with excellent breakfast. Good car park. Reasonable price. I’d go there again.
