As now a local in the area found the last shift to be the ideal spot for high quality food at a reasonable price with good friendly service and a nice enviroment to go for a drink especially if you like very, very, loud "head banging" music from a unmonitored playlist of someones personal choice!!! Aswell as a feature fire in the bar which is in no way welcoming. What a waste of a superb environment with as stated great food and friendly service. Obviously thats what they focussed on and not customers comfort levels. Will keep going due to our convenience but visits will be brief!!!

I really want to love Erringtons Barn as I love their cheese and I am a local but having had food there twice now I wonât be going back for anything other than a coffee. On the second visit on Monday I ordered Croque Madame. I didnât see the price before ordering as the menus hadnât been printed off. The waitress was an over explainer which was rather annoying. The Croque Madame was very dry with not enough sauce on top and an overcooked fried egg so nothing unctuous about it and nothing else on the plate. I reported this to the waitress who said that she would feed it back to the chef but I wasnât offered anything else to compensate for my unsatisfactory plate of food.My friend had a small plate of cheese which was miniscule and eaten in 2 bites for ÂŁ7. She had asked for some salad to be added to the plate (which she would have paid for) but the waitress said that she would have to have a salad from the menu. I bought some cheese and it was only when I got home that I realised that I had been charged ÂŁ16 for the Croque Madame. The food is just not good enough and the portions arenât large enough to charge these prices. The menu also isnât broad enough to appeal to anyone who doesnât like cheese. On the plus side the coffee that I had there is fairly good. All such a shame.

So 1st and last time visitor ! Was recommended to me so made a trip for lunch. Ordered soup which both came luke warm so requested that they be warmed up to eating temperature. Take 2 on return one was slightly warmer the other still luke warm. As am not one for take 3 spoke with staff to ask if I could pay as decided to go elsewhere, no charge (not eaten) but the soup "apparently" take a while to heat !! Offered to heat "again" but thought after 2 attempts, not. It should be good to go from the off otherwise why serve cool soup. A less than satisfactory experience and to be honest not a great ambiance, my wife thought seating was uncomfortable. Sorry but that's how we found the place đ

I stayed overnight and had dinner bed and breakfast. I chose it because it was in a pretty country village and was quiet. The people running the place were very friendly and the room was well appointed. Food was OK with excellent breakfast. Good car park. Reasonable price. Iâd go there again.

On Friday 28/06/24. @ 4.30, we ordered a starter, plus 3 main courses. The half Crispy Aromatic Duck was awful, most of the duck had a layer of soft fat on top, definitely wasn't crispy, with the rest of the 'Aromatic Duck' was dry and tough, lacking any aromatic taste. The spring onions were dried up too, possibly the worst carryout meal I've ever had. However, staff were friendly and when we phoned up to complain we were offered 1/2 cost of Aromatic Duck. Very disappointing, we wouldn't go back.
