Great place for vegan / vegetarian options. We stopped here for lunch and was extremely pleasantly surprised by the service and warmth of the place. These baked stuff was great, especially an apple tart / mixed fruit tart. Would recommend a stop.

What a gem of a cafe! So pleased we stopped here for breakfast on way back to England rather than the motorway services with our boys aged 12 and 10. We all had something different from the breakfast menu and it was delicious and great value. The French toast with maple syrup and bacon was amazing. Cooked fresh and what lovely ladies who run this local cafe. We took cakes for the long journey and they were yummy too! We’ll make this our new pit stop for journeys back from our beloved Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Thank you Coffee Spot Cafe ☕️ team!

Used to go to this cafe regular but what a disappointment it was. Not the place it used to be for good food. Went with wife for lunch got seated ok then placed order after about ten minutes soup and sandwich were sitting ready toastie and chips still cooking 10 mins later still waiting then chips put beside them another 5 mins later food was brought over to table. Soup was like a bowl of cold porridge could stand your spoon up in it due to no liquid in it sandwich was curling up at edges due to sitting in heat from kitchen and chips were just warm.toastie was ok but no salad or anything with it just sat on plate. As I said we were regular customers but will never be back place has gone down hill since on in lanark opened.

Called in here on 20th August for a light lunch with American friends we had just collected from Edinburgh airport. The table was dirty but as it was busy I expected it to be cleaned when our order was taken. It wasn’t. After a long wait our order was taken but 10 minutes later another surly young girl came to check our order. A further long wait before our food was served. When it came items had still been missed even though our order had been double checked. As for the food, the bigger breakfast was tiny with the egg missing, all overcooked and glued to the plate. Much the same could be said of the other “meals” set in front of us. It was inedible. We should have refused to pay but did not want to make a fuss in front of our friends but one thing is for sure, we will never set foot in the place again. Following this experience I really can’t understand how it ever gets good reviews.

We have visited this cafe several times over the years and always found the people friendly and the food good. However, yesterday the place was empty around 3.00 and we wondered why. We soon found out. The kitchen was not very clean, the toilets left a lot to be desired and the waitress who brought our tea and cake 'dumped' it on the table. We won't be back.

Myself and my partner have visited The Coffee Spot a few times for breakfast now. The first time I came alone and found the breakfast to be really tasty. The service was a bit hit and miss, items were missed off the breakfast and my coffee didn't turn up until after I ate, but I could tell the young staff were a little flustered, so didn't mind too much. It was good enough for me to say to my partner that we should pop in again. When we did, unfortunately someone else must have been on egg duty, as mine were very undercooked and had lots of raw egg white wobbling on the surface - not my taste unfortunately. But everything else was still lovely. On our third trip, the eggs were different again, so it must literally just be down to who is on shift 😅 All in all, we do enjoy the food when we visit and it's certainly better service than Aroma down the road, so I would recommend for a no frills, fairly priced brekkie if you're in the area.

After five hours motor way driving we decided to detour off via Biggar for a change of scenery and to grab some lunch. Whilst driving along the high street we saw the Coffee Spot and with plenty of parking in front and a public loo down the way it was a no brainer to stop. So pleased we did, what a refreshing change from overpriced motorway service food. There were 6 of us at lunch time rush hour but that was no problem. We were quickly seated, everything was clean and tidy. As distancing was still in force, screens were up. The food was cooked fresh and delivered quickly by a very friendly waitress. We were tired and were made to feel very welcome and looked after. Recommended!!

Sadly we couldn’t drink our takeaway latte and cappuccino for our road trip back to Edinburgh as they were disgusting. Boiling hot (they’d burnt the coffee) and utterly tasteless. Sadly one of the worst coffees I’ve ever had. It’s a shame such establishments can continue to be in business when they offer such dodgy coffee at ambitious prices. We will not be returning.

We have been regulars the coffee spot for over 20 years, however this may no longer be the case. We visited today just after 1pm, on opening the door the lady who was cooking barked at us "There's no tables" which took us slightly aback no normal friendly greeting . My daughter then asked if she knew how long the wait was likely to be? The reply once again in an aggressive tone was to the effect that she didn't know as she was stuck in the kitchen. We asked if take away was available and the lady then barked at one of the younger members of staff to come and take our order. Whilst we were waiting several tables became available, the food when we got home and ate it was of the normal high standard. We are really sad about the treatment we received today and as I said we have been regular customers and my daughter even worked there for a time whilst at university. However after today I don't think we shall be using the coffee spot again.

having been to this cafe before several times with positive experience, was very disappointed to find it staffed today by immature adolescents some of which were more interested in their social interaction than their work. The male server I had was particularly gauche and self preoccupied. Having sneezed explosively across the room, he did not attempt to wash hands or use disinfectant gel before proceeding with food service. He also forgot to organise my food order and at that point I decided it was better to eat at home. I may give this nother go as it has not been like this before but if this were my first time here it woud certainly be my last. It was home made two to three days ago. The sauce had congealed and the liquid absorbed into the pasta to form a stodgy mass that was tasteless. It was inedible. My friend approached a staff member and complained and was told we would not be charged for it. When we went to pay the bill the cafe owner instructed the staff member to charge me for a small portion. I objectedvas i had not eaten it only tasted it, but was charged £5+ for some frozen tasteless chips and a side salad. The meal was substandard and should never have been served. I expect fresh home made food not 2 day leftovers. There are many quality cafes in Biggar. I'll be giving them my custom in future. Appauling food and service.

Scott's roll however was fine and he says tasted delicious - square sausage. That said it must have been a blip as we have had many take aways and sit in meals and all have been lovely. Staff are always pleasant and helpful. Food only rate average on this occasion based on the bacon roll, food is normally very good. Would I go back and would I recommend - yes and yes.

Went in here for a breakfast. Several choices for cooked breakfasts but didn't go for the Biggar breakfast but the one below it. Everything was cooked to order and very nice; sausages looked like butcher's sausages and were a bit salty but very tasty. The place has a homely atmosphere and suggests home cooking with service to match. Busy place and worth the visit

I'd like to thanks and compliment the young lady who served us at the café on the best customer service we have come across. Long story short she helped us with recommending accommodation for the night in Biggar and then while we were taking a stroll through the village, stopped on her way home and asked if we were alright. So sorry we didn't get her name but the futures strong with young people like her.

Stopped off in Biggar and stumbled upon this little gem. A warm, friendly welcome by attentive staff made us feel we’d made the right choice. We both went for the homemade lentil soup and toastie combo and very good it was too. Scrummy!

My friend and I were travelling back to Fife after Electric Fields Festival and stopped here for some food to fuel the journey. We both had the vegetarian breakfast which comes with tea (or coffee) and toast and was a bargain at £5.45 each. The breakfast was very plentiful and our eggs were cooked to perfection, was just what we needed after a weekend of partying. The breakfast consisted of mushrooms, tomatoes, beans, eggs, fried bread and a tattie scone as well as the toast and tea, it was all really lovely. However, it might have been nice to have a vegetarian sausage as well.

We were cycling through and chose this cafe as our lunch stop. Good clean cafe with a good range of choices at reasonable prices. Staff were all very friendly and the waitress was quick to take our order, service was a little slow but it was a busy Saturday lunchtime. We did have to wait a while for a table big enough for us. I think the staff should seat people as there were a number of couples at tables for 4. A kind customer gave us her larger table otherwise we would have had a longer wait. Food was great when it arrived and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this cafe.

We came here for a resting stop as part of a solo world record attempt to roller ski from John O'Groats to Land's end for charity. The service at coffee spot has been terrific and the staff (Megan and Ann) have been very welcoming and accommodating. The food was served with little waiting time and is exactly what was needed after finishing an early morning roller ski session. On top of this, the breakfast was offered for free. So instead of paying the bill, we are donating the money towards the chosen charities. We appreciate your kind generosity and services. Thank you coffee spot!

This looked like a greasy spoon from outside (no offence intended greasy spoons!) but the inside revealed some interesting cow-based art and some really very good food. The bacon rolls were delicious and frankly the breakfasts and cakes going to the other tables looked equally so - we will definitely be back to try some more

We called in on our way back down to England from a long weekend in Edinburgh, only really stopped as kids needed out of the car but so glad we did, the place is maybe a little over the top with cows inside but didn't both the adults or older child and it really made it fun for the 6yr Old who loved it We ordered a basic late lunch and drinks -sandwiches and toasties green tea, Mocha and juice, although basic it was all very nice. The staff were welcoming and friendly during the time were spent there and we didn't feel rushed. Kids lunch offer also came with a cow biscuit that was much more fun than we expected and helped to keep the kids happy back in the car

My husband and I visited the Abbeygreen Cafe today for lunch enroute from Elgin to Warwickshire. It is ideally situated just off the M74 motorway. We had a warm welcome from the friendly staff and the food, drink and service were excellent. Prices were very reasonable . We would highly recommend. !

Arrived at cafe approx 1.00 pm, party of four. We adhered to the ‘please wait sign before being seated ‘ for couple of minutes and no one came so as there were empty seats we proceeded to sit down. Shortly thereafter a young girl , waitress, appeared and began chastising us while literally throwing the menus in front of us. She launched into a tirade about ‘in the future wait before taking a seat the signs are there for a reason’! We accept that you clearly expect protocol to be followed to the letter busy or not. However I think it’s fair to expect to be spoken to in a professional, respectful manner and not an angry attitudinal one as we experienced from this young girl today. We have been long time weekly regulars but after this incident , sad to say will not be returning!
