Had a wonderful overnight stay. Friendly, welcoming staff. Quirky but very comfortable bedroom. This was the last night of a 9-night tour and I think we saved the best till last. Had the venison for dinner which was out of this world! Breakfast was also excellent. Cosy bar and coffee lounge. Will definitely be back.

Excellent food and good VFM in this restaurant earlier this evening. Very extensive menu amd great quality food for such a small town - and all that well in to the autumn. Casual and friendly in style. would well recommend. Lawrie West, Dunfwrmline, Fife. Sat 5 Oct 2024.

The deli has become a regular stop for coffees, cakes, or lunches. The food is always great, there are loads of options available and daily specials. Good selection of drinks too, including local beers. Staff are always friendly and attentive, creating a really welcoming atmosphere. Definitely recommend Ness Deli for a stop in the village.

Great atmosphere in the dining car today. Tables full with locals and visitors enjoying a tasty lunch served with a smile. Chef Duncan uses local ingredients and team Manja and Ella provide a welcome smile and good service. The diner closes for the winter soon so if you haven’t booked, do so now.

My wife and I visited this cafe for lunch. I had Cullen Skink then a roll on Stornaway Black pudding/fried egg. And a can of Irn Bru. My wife had a bacon roll, then a fruit scone, with a Latte. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was great. The guys were very friendly, prices were reasonable. I would highly recommend this cafe. 👍👍

Instead of dropping guests off here, then grabbing a sandwich at the Spar, I was invited to lunch. Lovely staff members, a good menu of various sumptuous choices. The Cullen Skink and open sandwich (chicken salad) was extremely good. Recommended, and hopefully, I'll be asked to join my guests again. Until next time....

Pleasantly surprised by J O G, despite the warning by our Airbnb host in Wick. Lots of interesting things but regrettably for us we chose the wrong cafe for a coffee as it was expensive and poor quality. Over £16 for a coffee hot chocolate sausage roll and small cake. Would expect Barista grade coffee for that and the sausage roll was barely warm, not hot and tough. 4x the price of greggs and inferior as well. Let’s just rip off the tourists shall we!!

Nice barkeep. The duck liver parfait was tasty (not served as a parfait but rather as slab of liver pate, side of jam, oatcakes). Creamy and not gritty. The cullen skink was fine - just a bit salty. The venison casserole actually needed some salt but was huge portions!! The vegetables with it were very nice!

Stopped for the night before the lock and decided to have dinner here. You can get bar food as a walk in for lunch and dinner but if you would like a meal you must preorder. Hubs and I had the lamb shank braised in red wine that was Devine- it came with an extra large family size portion of boiled new potatoes, green beans, carrots, and of course while in Scotland Peas. The veg was un- sauced and cooked to tooth🥰. Sister had the vegetarian haggis neeps and tatties…. She enjoyed it said the neeps were delicious. Small and tasty selection of drafts and a bar. The ambiance however is just super with a coal burning stove and the owner a pleasure- she had to leave for a bit to take the dogs out for their business. In the good weather you can sit topside or just off the barge- we were here in October so loved the cozy interior of the barge.
