We scoured reviews to find a safe bet for something to take back to our accommodation and Deli-Ca-Sea seemed to be a preferred choice. Staff were really lovely and welcoming. We ordered two large haddock suppers but unfortunately the young woman serving us said they only had mediums left. We went with this option but as we were paying the guy frying shouted through that he had two large left. A quick re-calculation later and we paid for the upgrade.
As they were being prepared we were advised that one of the fish was big but the other was a whale!
Back at the accommodation we got tucked into an amazing meal. The fish was fresh and flaky and had a flavour that balanced perfectly with the light crispy batter. I managed to wrangle the whale and it was huge. Iâm rarely beaten by a plate of food but ground to a halt on this leviathan about two thirds of the way through.
Often with a supper the chips seem to be an afterthought but on this occasion they were equal partners in a fast marriage made in heaven.
If weâre ever back in Ullapool weâll make sure we return here. 5/5.
If youâre looking for the best fish and chips around, look no further than this amazing family-run gem! From the moment you walk in, youâre welcomed with warm smiles and a cozy, friendly atmosphere that makes you feel like part of the family. The food is absolutely wonderfulâeach dish tastes fresh and bursting with flavor.
The fish here is phenomenalâperfectly cooked, light, and crispy on the outside with tender, flaky meat inside. You can truly taste the quality and freshness, like it was caught just that morning! Their seafood sandwiches are also a real highlight. Generously filled, deliciously seasoned, and served on soft bread, theyâre packed with the freshest flavors of the sea.
Every detail, from the quick and kind service to the thoughtful presentation of each dish, shows the care and pride they put into what they do. Whether youâre a local or just passing through, this is one stop you wonât want to miss! A true treasure in the community!

Pizza is tasty, but ours was super small - also in contrast to the others. We weren't fed up and paid 50 pounds for it.
The service was very slow, we also waited over an hour for the pizza, even though it wasn't that busy.
Bobs curry and the tempura mushrooms were great, burger was very dry and more smash burger than burger.
1 of the Waitresses doesn't listen to the full information when ordering for burger to be made plain but witg bbq sauce on it - comes out and asks again what we ment by plain then brings burger dry no sauce, and talks about other customers whilst we're sitting in ear shot.
We had planned on having desert but due to lack of correct info and the way the 1 Waitresses was acting we decided to cut it short and leave.
A delightful stop on our motorbike tour of Scotland. Delicious array of desserts, beautiful setting overlooking the Loch, outside and inside seating, really friendly staff and good parking for the bike. Just Perfect!
What a fantastic little cafe.
Friendly and welcoming and great food.
Staff were always polite even though they were super busy. We went 5 or 6 times over the 4 days we were here. Perfect stop in between walks around the Lochs etc.
definitely need to go there if youâre visiting the village.
Excellent cafe with a lovely food menu. Iâm coeliac and the menu was clearly marked with a lot of options for gluten free. I had a baked sweet potato with beautiful fillings. Nicely presented and good portions. Highly recommend.
Very tasty mezzes and breads with plenty of great veggie options! The chickpea casserole and aubergine shakshuka were both excellent. I wasnât the biggest fan of how thin the hummus was, but overall it was all leng.

Perfect cozy cafe, wonderful staff, and they had a vegetarian option for the standard breakfast with âvegetarian haggisâ. They even steam up the milk for the tea. Lovely.
Don't let the outside put you off, this is a lovely wee cafe, theres only a couple of small tables inside but sitting out side looking across the loch to the mountains is the way to go. We had tea and coffee and the carrot cake. Now I know we're not the first to comment on the carrot cake but honestly, it was among the best we've ever had. The cafe also have a good selection of gifts, my partner got two necklaces so it must be goodđ. The 2 ladies serving were very friendly and cheerfull so yes we would recomend it.
The food was absolutely delicious. We were intrigued by the menu options as they sounded very different, but oh my did the flavours not just go so well together! The burger was amazing, clearly good quality beef. The curry was also amazing. The burnt pineapple dessert and cremebrulee with passion fruit were to die for. Not things Iâd have normally chosen but so glad I did! Great value with 3 courses for ÂŁ30 - so worth it for the quality and flavour of food. We were intrigued by their own pilsner - the owner very kindly allowed us to try some. Unfortunately we didnât have time to come back for a pint of it. Would love to come back another time!
Popped in for lunch on a cold November as a chance to warm up. This is a lovely family run local cafe, always full of local residents which is always a good sign.
Staff are always friendly chatty and nothing is too much trouble. Food is always good quality, tasty and homemade. They have a great menu from breakfasts, snacks and light lunches and do a variety of hot & cold drinks. Their banana milkshake made with ice cream is to die for.
Highly recommend popping in here if you are in Golspie
This is a lively and welcoming old fashioned proper pub. There were local beers on the bar which were a good pint. The log fire was blazing and the food really good.
