Great little cafe with a nice view. Good coffee and cake, excellent breakfast with dairy free options. Lots of interesting books to browse through. Preferred the breakfast here to the hotel breakfast we had actually paid for, so came back 3 days in a row!
We visited Canna for a couple of nights in September during glorious weather. We'd only planned one meal at Cafe Canna. but we stopped in for lunch after disembarking the ferry the food was so magnificent we were back for lunch every day. The seafood platter is amazing, so fresh and superbly cooked and everyone is so friendly. It's worth the journey to Canna just for the cafe, we will be back!
This spot is a really good place for your Sunday lunch, if you want to get away from the standard Sunday Roast. We were there for Easter lunch and they offered a very tasty 2 course meal for £30 which was refreshingly different from most places. Staff was very friendly and attentive.
We know the Tongue area very well, and like to eat locally, so it was obvious we would decide to eat at the Craggan, and i'm happy we did! The restaurant area is welcoming and clean, staff friendly, and the car park was easy even with a big van. The only problem was choosing from the menu! So many tasty things - i wish we had more time to visit again.. All three of us enjoyed our food, and we shared everything so i know it was all delicious. Thank you for making a rather wet evening so special..

We're in Inverness visiting. We found this place using a Google search, great reviews. We drove out of town and we ordered a variety of waffles and some nachos. As we were having a takeaway order they said we could wait in our car whilst they prepared our order. They came out with a bag and our milkshake. We drove back to our place to find we were 2 waffles short and had to drive back to collect. Waffles were great tasting. Nachos not so great as the melted cheese had dried by the time we got back, so all nachos were stuck together. Maybe not an ideal choice for takeaway or delivery. When we returned they were very apologetic and we got our missing waffles without hesitation. Overall good food but let down by service.
We didn't eat in but the restaurant was busy and the atmosphere was good.
We booked the « pinicle » cottage for two nights in order to visit the Isle of Skye. The location of the hotel is pretty convenient (by car): not so far from the bridge, 45 min from Portree and 1 hour from the Old Man of Storr hiking. The breakfast is very qualitative as well as the diner. The cottage was spacious, with two bathrooms (each with toilets), one dedicated bedroom and a bedroom opened to the living room. The decor is modern. All was very clean and convenient.
We made a "reservation" via the web site enquiry facility. We were offered a choice of times. We replied with our selection. We arrived at the appointed time to be met by the owner saying that they had no record of our reservation and could do nothing for us because they only had food prepped for their expected guests, I showed him my email reply to which he said that he had never seen it and would talk to his IT people the next day! That was it. No empathy, no attempt to resolve the problem. We had to leave, organise transport and find a way to rescue a disastrous evening planned as a birthday celebration. Fortunately we found a restaurant that had food available and was flexible enough to serve customers at short notice.
I don't know how good the food is at The Cross and won't ever attempt to find out. If you risk a reservation don't rely upon technology, nail it down.
Quick stop for coffee. Great friendly service beautiful and huge cakes - we had a coffee & walnut and a hummingbird. Latte was a decent size, good temperature and smooth tasting. Good price and nice surroundings.
Maybe I am not a fan of traditional pies, but give me a fish n chips Pukka pie instead any day. Also got their soup of the day - and again maybe I'm not a fan of traditional soups but even a cup a soup sachet tasted better.
Fairly nice service though..
Won ton soup is one of my favorite foods and I order it every single time that I get Chinese food. Needless to say, I have tried many different variations of this dish and use it as a barometer for my overall experience.
Hou Hou Mei has one of, if not the best won ton soup I have ever had in my life. I would definitely recommend going out of your way to visit this restaurant if you are anywhere in proximity to Inverness.

fantastic food for the price - we went for Sunday lunch and the quality of the food for the price was simply our on its own - seriously beautiful views, too and half the price of what you’d expect to pay for a cracking roast in the Highlands
Came for brunch place full of locals plenty of food options had food envy when you saw what others ordered. Nice fresh cakes on offer place was bigger had a downstairs part with some overflow tables a couple of larger family groups.
Muy buena comida. todo condimentado perfectamente. Recomiendo 100%. Las tostadas francesas coronaron el trabajo 😊. huevos revueltos deliciosos, salmón delicioso. pan de masa madre delicioso 😁
