Nevis bakery shop and takeaway in Highland

Maybe I am not a fan of traditional pies, but give me a fish n chips Pukka pie instead any day. Also got their soup of the day - and again maybe I'm not a fan of traditional soups but even a cup a soup sachet tasted better. Fairly nice service though..

We had: the award-winning steak and black pudding pie, scotch pie, and soup of the day. To be honest, it seems like all restaurants / food places are "award-winning". The food was decent - nothing special. The customer service was pretty sub-par - it did feel quite rushed and not smiley. However, it is a convenient place to grab a quick bite when walking around Fort William.

Popped in to get some goodies for long train journey back home. I got filled rolls, some shortbread and pies, they were all excellent and very good value.

Our family loved our stop at the bakery! We all got filled rolls, (bacon, sausage, tattie scone, egg), and they were delicious!! My kids had been searching for tomato soup on our trip, and they finally found some here! It was oh so yummy!! I also had been searching for some strawberry tarts, and was able to buy some to take away. They were incredible!! Overall, we had a fantastic experience here, and can’t wait to come back. I grabbed a quick donut and croissant here when I didnt have time for a sit down breakfast and they were delicious. It cost me less than a basic croissant would have where I live and was definitely better quality. The girl who served me was an absolute gem- sorry that I didn't get her name but she's a credit to the bakery. Everything there looked amazing and was so tempting. Will definitely be back on my next trip!

Their attractive lunch offer is just great. Soup and Scottish Pie or Sausage roll. Hot and sumptuous. Only find your own seat to eat.

I’ve been coming to Scotland for decades and have fond memories of strawberry tarts with my grandmother! Had one from this bakery and without doubt the best strawberry tart I’ve ever had ! Thank you :)

I went to the Nevis bakery having seen reviews of their pies, I can honestly say the steak pie was outstanding and the shortbread was utterly delicious. The lemon fudge cake was excellent, I wish I’d bought a couple. Next time I visit I’m going to buy extra to freeze. A word of warning if buying any sizeable amount of pies or sweet goods do not get a paper carrier, mine lasted 100 yards.

Called in on a cold and wintery March day, bought the steak pie and a lemon cake, both were absolutely delicious. The pies were full to the brim with tender pieces of steak with not a single piece of fat or gristle and the pastry was amazing, infact they were so good we called in two days later and bought the same again. The staff were very welcoming and friendly.

Called in today for Steak and black pudding pies. Some for a friend and some for myself, really tasty with great big chunks of steak and black pudding. Also bought a couple of other pies and a couple of caramel doughnuts. I can definitely recommend them all. Great quality and price. Unbelievable! After a long and winding drive along the beautiful shores of Loch Ness we arrive in Fort William. I look in a gift shop while my wife and her sister browse the High Street. Meeting up, they are both enjoying warm and peppery Scotch...

We ordered 2 sausage rolls and were surprised when we were charged £4.80 which set our expectations of delicious sausage rolls. Having tried them we both agreed they were no better than those from a famous nationwide chain. Very disappointed.

Top notch bridies, scotch pies and steak pies. The proper taste of Scottish food. The shortbread was pretty good too. Unfortunately a mid afternoon visit meant that they were out of sausage rolls.

Stopped in for a light bite for lunch. I had a Haggis, chicken and peppercorn sauce pie and my partner had the steak and black pudding pie. Both were excellent. Staff very friendly and helpful and pies outstanding. I recommend you try them.

Over the last few weeks my Mum has bought the family steak pies for our dinner and they are 5 stars! They taste so delicious and fresh. The shortbread, millionaires shortbread and mint slice are all favourites in our house.

Con una alergia a la cebolla, entraron en sus libros de registro para verificar qué pasteles no tenían cebollas, mientras nos regalaban los acentos escoceses más bellos. Incluso nos han convencido de que compremos sus bollos de fruta fresca que sofocaron con mantequilla y mermelada y que fueron simplemente los mejores. Wonderful food (especially the steak pie - best we have ever had) and great service. A big group of us but they were very patient with the kids. Gave us advice on local issues - where to sledge, very friendly. And wonderful shortbread

Whenever I visit Fort William my last day is at this bakery I take home at least a dozen of the best steak pies ever made and a selection of cakes . The staff are very helpful and friendly nothing is too much trouble. This last visit was made whilst on holiday on Speyside. However it’s never to far to go for one of their pies

This little bakery is tucked away on the High Street and is a real treasure. We went in several times during our stay for made up rolls and they were all delicious. The cakes looked devine but I held my nerve and resisted Good value and good food.

I go here most days food is always great. Staff are all very friendly. My only compliant is the heat in there am in there no longer than 2mins its roasting, must be very uncomfortable for the staff

Okay, so there’s a lot of Scotch Pies made in Scotland every day, no doubt. And like anything, some will be good, bad, indifferent or excellent. I reckon I hit the jackpot! A couple of days ago I ate one from Nevis Bakery in Fort William, enjoying it so much I went back for another straight away. Incredibly delicious! Like super, super good! The strawberry tarts were yum too, as was the shortbread. A very satisfying lunch on the run.

I bought a steak pie and could not believe the meat content and flavour, it was amazing. I immediately returned to the shop and bought a few more. I also purchased a few packs of empire biscuits (Nevis Bakery Range), the best empire biscuit I have ever had. I asked if the products could be delivered to anywhere in the UK and to my surprise they confirmed that they already deliver a range of products to satisfied customers not only in the UK but also in Ireland.

We both had a cup of cauliflower soup and a Scotch pie, they were really tasty. Takeaway lunch for 2 = £5.00, what’s not to like? Oh! and the shortbread is knockout!

Called in today after a some dreadful attitude in a nearby cafe. Ordered a chicken curry pie and a scotch pie. Both excellent, tasty and very good value. Will be my first port of call when back in Fort William.

There are quite a few selections of savory and sweet items. We bought a few savory pies - a meat pie and a potato and onion pastry plus one sweet pastry all of which were very good. The server was nice and friendly. The bakery is near the square where you can find a seat and eat outside.

Staff were so friendly, food was delicious. You definitely have to stop in during your stroll through Fort William. They offer a great selection of everything Scottish. I’ll be back again next year.

The steak and black pudding pie is exceptionally good, as is the plain steak pie. Shortbread is very good too. Other things probably to the same high standard. Friendly & efficient staff. Recommended if you are in Fort William.

We visited Fort William on our way to the Isle of Skye and stayed in the AirBnB above Nevis Bakery. It was our favorite stop on our two weeks in Great Britain. The staff at the bakery are friendly and helpful. And the scones are so good, on our way back through Fort William, we ran from the train station to buy the last two of the day (the fruit scones with butter are the best ever!). Go early in the day to make sure you get some before they're gone!

Visited on my last day in Fort William in order to buy some shortbread biscuits and pastries to take home the following day. I thought I would give some custom to a local business, but the woman who served me appeared to be more interested in talking to her colleague and doing other jobs rather than giving her attention to me, the only customer in the shop. I got friendlier more efficient service in Tesco - I thought it would be the other way around!

Travelled from Balachullish to Nevis bakery solely to buy our favourite Scottish tradition of Bridies. Was upset to find that they were done in puff pastry and not shortcut. Bought them anyway but not impressed at all. Bought steak pies as well but again not impressed with the pastry but they were filling. 6/10 for effort.

Wanting a packed lunch to take on your hike up Ben Nevis? Look no further. This place reminded me of my mother's kitchen. The sandwich rolls are fresh and delicious. We indulged and added a scotch pie to our order which we couldn't resist gobbling down first. Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent prices for what ya get.

I was able to pop in and grab 2 delicious pasties to takeaway while on a 3 day excursion to the Highlands. I highly recommend the venison pasty, the meat was tender and flavorful. I made little noises while I ate it... Complete with nods and mmhmms and making sure I didn't drop a crumb. I didn't get a chance to eat my Mac n cheese pasty till the next day (cold)! And it was still delicious. Yum you totally have to check this place out!

The Nevis Bakery is located in the main street in Fort William, quite close to the Museum and a seating area. Every time we visit the town we call in here, always to purchase some of their special whisky cake and often sandwiches for lunch. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. All excellent quality products and highly recommended.

This bought my trip up to Fort William to a fitting end. Shortbread to go with a brew at home, but hot pies before the journey. The Scotch pie and the famous Steak & Black pies were both amazing! Couldn't fault the service, really friendly place.

I was doing a tour of Scotland with my family, we did a quick stop in Fort William. In a world of Mcdonald, Starbucks and big chains, it was great to find a place with actual, genuine food.

Nevis is a large-scale, industrial bakery that produces biscuits for a national and global market. This is their storefront with those packaged baked goods along with hot/cold meat/veg pies and basic pre-made sandwiches for your walks/hikes/picnics.

This looks to be a popular spot for hill walkers, we stopped and got sandwiches which were good. Nothing fancy, but they did their job, tasty and filled us up!

We have just come back from Fort William and they are the best pies ever. We particularly enjoyed the steak pies and the steak and black pudding ones. But best of all were the butteries. We brought back a packet and have just had them for breakfast. I originally come from Aberdeen so for me it is food heaven but my husband who is English is there too. Thank you.

Their shortbread is the best I have ever tasted. Every cheap too. I bought ten packages but doubt most will survive nibbling during the trip home.

A well established family business here in the highlands selling delightful range of tasty, savoury pies, and a range of gift packaged toffee cake, ginger cake and many others. All very tempting and delicious, the diet starts tomorrow!!

I am quite frankly bemused by Nevis Bakery shop's most recent review (19 March 2018). Although local to Fort William and clearly shop there regularly I have been in the vicinity many times when customers both local and foreign are served and I have never noted anything other than good service. The girls in the shop, Janette, Nicola, Rhona and Ann-Marie are all very helpful and full of pleasant 'banter' on a daily business. Very informative on their many products - especially the pies - which are great quality and quite delicious. In my opinion there are no 'bad days' here. The staff all rally round to produce a friendly and efficient service..Keep it up ladies..!!

Quite frankly I am baffled by the good reviews this establishment has, unless we caught them on a bad day.
