Shakes 'n' Cakes Inverness in Highland

First day in Inverness and we ended up at shakes n cakes for dessert. Ordered ice cream milkshake and chocolate fudge milkshake for us and chocolate fudge cake for kids. Amazing milkshakes and kids loved the cake. We returned the next day back there to taste their waffles. Amazing taste and huge portion. Love the place and definitely return when back in Inverness next time.

The perfect place if you want a dessert!

One of the best dessert resto in Inverness. It's located quite far from the city center in a calm area, and this is one of the reasons I like this shop. They make some unique ice cream sundaes. Nutella and caramel are my favourite ice-cream flavours here. I'm also fan of their fresh cheescakes. The biscoff cheesecake is super tasty.

Always come here when I can. The milkshakes are unbelievable must of tried most of the 50 or so options. Had the ice creams and waffles too, quality. Savoury food is very good as well

Great service and superb food. Very friendly and always helpful. Usually come with a group of us and sit in with large tables to accommodate. Very clean inside and out. Great selection of sweet treats and some snack too. Highly recommend

A good place for desserts with delicious food and good service (staff can deliver food to your car). A bit expensive but worth it.

I am absolutely stunned by the manager and his business awareness. I al.ost always have the pancakes with white chocolate and strawberries and cream in the side (for the cat, obviously) and my son is incredibly picky and chooses different things now and then. I can honestly say that it has been incredible from a customers point of view,watching this restaurant thrive in such an inconsistent industry, they have been completely consistent with 99.9% of my orders. There has been the once maybe twice they have been running late on a weekend for deliveries but they actually notify you when you his happens and always make sure the order is fresh and what I have ordered. It's odd because every single time I order(twice a week) each dessert gets fresher, and they fine ways to keep it even hotter, this shows me that they do obviously work out what system works best for their customers and let's not forget the personal touch with the delivery wether it's just eat or directly through them, it is always the same wonderful young lady,rain snow or sunshine with the same little smile and chirpy statement to enjoy your meal. The one time there was a miscommunication I called the store and it was quickly resolved. Sometimes we pop in store and eat in,it's cosy and has a wide variety of options. Always clean. They now have their own app which the manager himself told me to use to save money and pay their prices rather than the crazy inflation on just eat. My absolute favourite late night treat and the most consistent and reliable take out in all honesty in any city I've ever lived. If your food was great I like to let them know ♥️

We ordered inshore, and waited in our car, the staff were helpful & friendly, they brought our order to the car. They were a very good treat. Enjoyed.

Ordered a takeaway from here and to begin with they ran out of bbq chicken and had to phone to ask if I wanted to replace it for the panini, then not 2 seconds later phoned again to say there’s no chicken for the nachos either which is a bit of a joke with it still being rather early on, took over an hour to be delivered then once it got here we gave the driver £40 and he didn’t have one hit of Change on him at all! For being a delivery driver he should have change at all times. I don’t we should’ve had to pay that whole amount for such inconvenience. Then the food looks awful so plain and the panini is practically just bread!!! Never ordering from here at all, disgraceful!!

They have a fantastic extensive menu. I just went in for a milkshake it was the best I've ever had.

Great place, amazing staff and even better food

This order was done through my housemate's phone, not through mine so I won't show up on their system. Had a lion waffle with ice cream while my housemate had a sundae. Both were excellent. The waffle was MUCH bigger than I expected, almost like getting a medium pizza! Recommended, would 100% order again.

The ice cream and deserts are delicious and competively priced. However...the menu could be simplified to help make choices if wishing to make something to your particular taste. It's a little confusing but a good choice. Staff answered questions but not over attentive.

i love shakes n cakes for a treat! it is my sisters birthday and we ordered the double crepe and the shakes n cakes special waffle. the crepes and waffles are so well made and the fruit is always delicious. i asked if they could add a wee happy birthday in the box and they obliged! always worth it to get from here, delivery is so speedy and food is always great!

Great food and awesome shakes. For our family though it was spoiled somewhat, sadly, due to the complete absence of any non diary products. 2 of our family arr allergic to dairy and normally opt for the safe bet, the vegan option. However for some reason in 2024 this place doesn't even have oat, almond or any alternative at all. Not one. Shame really

We got some take away. No shortage of taste or calories when you get one of the Sundaes. Enjoy, no need to order a large!

A very detailed but perhaps confusing menu offers a multitude of milk shakes and variants. We had the brownie special which states "hot" brownie, but the individual serving us still asked if we wanted the brownie heated up?(?) Anyway it was very nice. A variety of drinks on the menu but strangely no mention of coffee! Probably a great place to take kids but not a lot of parking given where it's situated. They probably do a lot of deliveries though. The decor is nice but there's not a lot of room for sitting and there is no atmosphere at all I'm afraid. Not somewhere I'd like to visit again and pretty pricey too. Kids love it though I'm sure!

Rude staff preoccupied on their mobile phones. Stood at the empty counter to be ignored and then after a few minutes the guy looked up from his mobile phone and told us that it would be another 5 minutes before we could order. The place was practically empty and not one table had been cleared or cleaned. Walked out and won’t be back.

I will not be returning here anytime soon. I have been here 4 times and not once have I enjoyed it. Number 1; The fruit are frozen, you can tell because it's really watery which makes it disgusting to eat with your dessert. Number 2; The last time I have been here I ordered a two scoop tub ice cream, it tasted good but there were two hairs inside it! -No match to my hair.- Number 3; When you walk inside, it is always way to hot in there and it smells awful. This place will not last long if it continues this way. Finding not one but two hairs in two scoops of ice cream is extremely disappointing. I hope no one else finds hair in their food. It's extremely unhygienic. I hope to never return here. This might seem exaggerated but if you were in the same situation I am sure you would feel the same way about this place.

Absolute favourite place to be ... staff are amazing (always happy to help) food has always been really quick a portions are large !! .and all round just a happy place to be ..I'm registered blind and it's very spacious so I have no issues moving around the place as usually it'd quite constricted other places .. also noticed staff were very quick at orders and serving!! We are jade and gab and we love your deserts ..keep up the good work !!

Delicious desserts. There was only one guy working there and the place was full, but the quality of the food and shakes was worthy.

Myself and my two daughters visited today for the first time. The menu boasts an excellent array of sundaes, waffles, crêpes, pancakes and shakes as well as some savoury items too such as paninis, nachos and hot dogs. Between us we opted for a strawberry sundae, a banoffee waffle, a cookie dough dessert, an ice cream shake (called Kevin Hart 🤣) and two smoothies. Everything was super yummy and tasted freshly made, we enjoyed every last morsel! The whole lot came to around £45 which I felt was pretty good as the portions are very generous. The staff here are also very friendly and polite even though they were very busy. Everything was also kept very clean, ta kes were being cleaned immediately after being cleared.

Pretty good, but a bit pricy and could do with slightly more seating. 8/10

Perfect crêpe bites! The banoffee flavour was spot on and the ice-cream as well! The double portion is huge and with enough topping and bananas just how I like it! Definitely will make them my weekly guilty pleasure! +extra points for customer service!

This place will not stay in business long. They are selling the cheapest lowest quality products for an inflated price. Their other shops in Aberdeen may work just based on foot traffic but in Inverness you need repeat customers..staff were really nice and seemed aware of the poor quality , they recommended I heat up the cake and have it with ice-cream I declined as fudge cake from a cake shop should be able to stand on its own. The cake was inedible its scores 1/10 anyone who has ever baked a cake will be massively disappointed with shakes n cakes. When you put profits over quality you insult your customers , too many staff inferior products and inflated prices, AVOID.

Overpriced for what you get 24.50 for 2 large milk shakes which is like an average size everywhere else, they’re watery and you have to pay extra for cream haha also the pancakes were cold and looked as if they were Asda special . Jokes on my wallet 🤣

Amazing. Got the double waffle and there's so much 🤤. Milkshakes were also amazing. Girls loves their ice blast. This was our 2nd time here and its amazing. Can't wait to go back 😁😁

Went here for a try. Took 1 hour to get 1 milkshake. They ran out of milk! Took another 15 minutes. We were here before other people but they got there’s first. Quite poor service. Don’t recommend.
