Brilliant place gorgeous location fabulous food great staff

We have been here on a number of occasions and were always happy with food, service etc.,but last visit was extremely disappointing. The seafood fish which l ordered was bland and watery - not a nice eating experience at all .

Fabulous meal and catered brilliantly for our boy with severe food allergies. Nothing was a problem. Fabulous experience.

Unnecessary info in the menu, who needs to know about Lee & his Mum? Other than that good food and friendly staff.

Had an unplanned lunch here on a very warm February Saturday. Sat outside, service was prompt and polite, dog friendly and the fish and chips was as delicious as you would expect by the sea. Will definitely visit again.

We stopped in for a bite to eat after a lovely walk along the beach with the dog. I had the bacon roll and cappuccino and my partner had the 'Pig' 2 slices of lorne sausage and blackpudding in a roll with a soft drink. Food was absolutely delicious 😋 cooked to perfection. We didn't wait very long for our order. The staff were totally fantastic too, they couldn't do enough to help. Definitely worth a visit. Will definitely be recommending to friends and family and will most certainly be back again and again in future.

Nice food. Can be a little noisy depending on clientele but that applies to a lot of places. Pretty good beach front café

Decent food, good service but extremely overpriced. We were disappointed by the whole experience purely due to the price.

Delicious food and impeccable service. Highly recommend the mussels! They were perfectly cooked to the right texture accompanied by a sauce that was well-balanced - just the right creaminess and seasoning. Will be back to try the cocktails next time!

The seat I sat on had just been washed so my jeans were soaking. The lorne sausage and bacon was overcooked. The poached eggs were undercooked. Not really the place for me.

Friday dinner with a friend and her two children while we are all visiting the area for different reasons. Fantastic place and would most certainly return. No problems when we called to apologise that we would be 15 minutes late. Lovely service from all staff, nothing too much trouble. Busy and perhaps a slightly longer than expected wait for food, but well worth it when it arrived, all delicious, fresh and beautifully presented, and very very tasty. Very happy to accommodate the children re some minor menu change requests (peas instead of salad for example). Many thanks. They can't accept tips via card at the moment so please take cash: you will want to tip!

We spent our first anniversary here on a very snowy night. It was so quiet, only a few other tables ordering food, and the weather definitely had something to do with that! Delightful staff and an enjoyable evening was had by both of us. Will definitely be back.

Hugely disappointed with Sun Dancer, we’re in Nairn for 3 nights visiting from Edinburgh, we booked two nights at the Sun dancer as we’d visited and enjoyed dinner last year. Tonight was so disappointing, it was dire. I had the fish and chips, it should have not left the kitchen, not sure what quality control the chef has in place but any decent chef would not send out a dish with chips under cooked and fish with batter that was soggy and bland! I’m not sure if the fish had been frozen and the chips certainly suggested they were frozen. When you are in a party of 4 you don’t want to spoil the atmosphere by complaining but I ate little and did mention to the waitress when the plates were taken, her response was oh they like to get feedback! Really! .. she should have removed it from the bill! My friends mother had lemon posset! It was awful, hard and not as a posset should be, we did complain about that and to be fair to them they removed from the bill. We left a gratuity as it’s not the waiting staff’s issue however, being so disappointed with the quality of food and responses from staff, I unfortunately would not like to go back!

Nice cafe/dinner perfect friendly service lovely meal would recommend to anyone, ground floor cafe dog friendly.

Went along for lunch, decided to have chicken club sandwich with chips and slaw. It was delicious and the service was fantastic. Cannot fault.

Where better to have lunch on a sunny day than at Nairn Harbour upstairs in the Sun Dancer restaurant. Good food and relaxed ambiance along with attentive staff.

OUTSTANDING!!!! I think Marge and her son have absolutely nailed this. WELL DONE!!! Great staff, fantastic location, impeccable modern well thought out establishment. The views are spectacular, the food is the best part , it is just sublime! I can see why they have won two consecutive awards. The food and drinks are not over priced, the portion size was in my opinion generous compared to many others on a like for like basis. The staff where great. A friendly inviting atmosphere with a genuine family touch. A special shout out to Lauren at the bar as well, staff that good really do make one heck of a difference and she was exceptional. I cant wait to go back!

Visited last week with my wife. Very warm greeting, excellent service and the food was delicious. I would highly recommend. If I could make a suggestion it would be to turn off the background music when the restaurant is busy. I had to take my hearing aids out to lower the noise of everyone chatting. :)

What a difference 6 months makes. Turned away from Sundancer Friday lunchtime, maybe because I was a single diner looking for a starter only. Apparently, it was fully booked, despite nearly half the tables being free. Was hoping to give the place a second chance, as I had a very disappointing main on the previous day, oversalted, overcooked and I suspect reheated. Not to mention overpriced. Can't believe this restaurant has been highly rated in the Press. Won't be going back.

Went upstairs for lunch today, really good food, reasonably priced, friendly and attentive staff…overall great experience……will be going back!

A lovely location with views out to Moray Firth made the most of by this spacious modern building. The menu was good and food well executed. The service was friendly. A good option for people with mobility issues as there's access via a lift and the dining room is spacious.

Absolutely delicious meal with very good service. Can definitely recommend the venison. Left feeling pleasantly full. The only problem was that it was quite loud - which I think might be a result of the hard floor. PS the view was excellent. Even on a stormy night as it was when we visited, the views over the Moray Firth were still amazing.

Cannot comment on the food (for legal reasons). Can say that the upstairs outdoor deck area is simply lovely with great views out onto the water and is perfect to share an evening cocktail with family and friends. Service was friendly, cheerful and accommodating.

Never quite made it here before as always booked when we visit Nairn but got organised this time and booked a table. The view is exceptional, the atmosphere buzzy and staff nice enough but it really wasn't the experience we had expected. The lack of seafood options was disappointing but that isn't uncommon in the area so I picked a meat dish which was nice although the meat was cooked more than I would personally like. As I was leaving I noticed a seafood dish - I asked and it was on the specials menu we weren't offered. I don't think I've ever visited anywhere and not been offered the special if there are some. I assumed there weren't any as not offered. The kids menu wasn't very imaginative but again that isn't unusual. My daughter had the pasta which the sauce was fine but the pasta very overcooked and floppy which just showed lack of care. If I'd had this meal in a pub and paid half of what we did I'd be okay but it just wasn't the special experience expected given the hype.

3 of us had a 1 course meal and 1 soft drink each. £45.00 for lunch. The place is immaculate, and the staff are very good. Excellent customer service.

Very good meal with a view of the sea. Arriving early before 12:45 p.m., the atmosphere is calm after which it becomes noisy.

Had a lovely Anniversary meal tonight. The food was amazing. Staff very pleasant and polite . Everything was 100% Definitely would come bk if we come bk to nairn.

Wonderful atmosphere - calming wide vistas over the Moray Firth. The food was up with the atmosphere and the service was cracking. The night we were there they were very busy and a side dish was forgotten - hence the 4 rather than 5 stars.

Place a bit run down needing tlc.. kids entertainment needs to be updated ...and something for the older generation ie keep fit ,yoga classes daily. Courtney from swimming a lovely girl ,very good with the kids...5 stars to her.

Never been to Nairn before but chose it one of the overnight stays on a biking trip around Scotland. We booked a table here with no research or expectations. The food was excellent and I recommend the belly pork with scallops and black pudding! Anyway, we had a lovely meal at a reasonable price and would recommend it!

lovely view, clean, modern, friendly staff. pricing, and food looked good, I ordered a simple lunch, goats cheese bagettte with coleslaw and fries. found baguette and filling too dry and not easy to eat. needed to be open sandwich with more filling on, to take dryness of the bread away. food others were ordering, looked delicious would visit again.

If you are visiting Nairn, then visit Sun Dancer for breakfast. You will get a warm welcome from the friendly helpful staff. The food is freshly cooked to order, generous portions. I have yet to try the restaurant upstairs. The downstairs eating area is spotlessly clean, you can eat outside or inside, it is dog friendly, has views over looking the beach & water. Well worth a visit you won't be disappointed. Wheelchair friendly. Serves Breakfast, Lunch & Snacks at reasonable prices. Well worth a visit.

Lunch was great 👍. But when leaving I popped to the toilet. I thought it was a bit weird having a window at the urinals, I'm 6ft 6ins so my face was right in full view while families were walking past. I thought surely this window is mirrored on the outside 🤔. No it isn't and I think that would make it even more creepy. I think the window with a view in the male toilet is wrong and only beggers belief how the planning passed for this.

What a lovely setting. This resteraunt sits, looking across the golden sands of Nairn. The service was very good and food excellent. We would return when holidaying again in the North East of Scotland.

The first super positive point is the very warm welcome we deserve! The location is great, it’s very cute and the café team is really very nice! We were accepted with our dogs (at the café only) and they also had a very warm welcome since we gave them water and small biscuits, frankly they were very caring, I loved it. We had a quick meal but honestly it was delicious and indulgent, the atmosphere was cool with music and the team's good humor in the air. We had a great time, I really recommend this place

Visited yesterday just had a coffee but observed a lot of the meals going put and they all looked amazing. The service was very good indeed. Will return and have a meal there very soon.

Ordered the large Fish and chips, fresh flaky fish in batter, crispy chips and garden peas, if you think f & c are all the same you will be blown away with these. The chef should get an award for the food that's produced. Wonderful 😊.

Brilliant restaurant with brilliant views. Staff were friendly and attentive from the moment we walked in the door. Food was fantastic and couldn't of picked a better place to spend the evening.

The sticky toffee pudding was disappointing. More sponge with a drizzle of toffee. However if I hadn't had desert it would be a 5 star review.

Festive menu limited but tasty and well presented as usual, we find the dessert menu always a bit limited, . needs some classics ( i.e. cheesecake and a plain chocolate dessert) and an ice cream sundae! veggie selection also limited compared to other restaurants in the area. Service excellent as usual but we have found that the drinks and wine menu has got so expensive in the past year or so, £30 for a bottle of Shiraz is outrageous and the cheapest bottle around £24, glass prices àre also creeping up. Its getting to be too expensive to have a glass of wine with a meal . Returned March 2023.....all of the above seemed to have been addressed good menu choices, Good puddings and some more reasonably priced wines...? Well done sundancer keep it up,

We had a fantastic dinner here recently. The location is lovely, great views out over the beach. The staff were great and friendly. Service was also quick despite the restaurant having a lot of guests. The food was delicious, faultless. And the price was really reasonable. Our favourite meal of our 6 day holiday.

Visited here and ordered (to my surprise) one of the few seafood dishes on the menu. You would think with Sun dancers "unique" seafood reviews on here and with the restaurant being right at Fishertown's sea front expectatons were that the seafood would be nothing but fresh. Unfortunately this was far from the case, the "cold seafood platter" was clearly all from a supermarket packet. We just couldn't justify paying £16 for seafood that we could have bought ourselves from morrisons, i think its an insult to customers to charge them that price for something that isn't fresh from the sea when you restaurant is sitting right at the sea front.

Our first time, food was amazing. They do a steak night on Thursdays. We thoroughly enjoyed our first time experience worth the drive up from Aberdeen. Hope to be back soon.

I have lived in the area for nearly three years and have only just visited The Sun Dancer! Such a beautiful location on the beach at Nairn, food, drinks and service 1st class, very friendly staff and amazing cocktails all at a very reasonable price. Parking available near to restaurant with a lift up to the first floor. A very relaxed, lovely place to be with friends. We will definitely be back

All good, except for the piped musak, silence is better than that playlist from hell. I get the licensing restrictions but you made the wrong choice.

After having coffee and cake in the morning we promptly booked for our evening meal. The food service and cleanliness of Sundancer was excellent .

Only stayed for drinks but the cocktails were amazing. The restaurant is placed right beside the beach so if you pick the right day you'll get a great view!

My food was tepid first time but whole plate was replaced with new and served fresh and hot. Fabulous food, wonderful staff and delightful venue. Would definitely go back. So much on the menu we need to try.
