It was closed, even though the internet said it was open!

Arrival 640p for dinner. Place completely dark, appeared closed when said open. Couldn't find a person that was staff.

Warm welcome and friendly waitress, good value for money, fast service. 👍

The restaurant is inside the Lodge by the Loch, doesn't say Sea Salt Cafe anywhere I could see. Breakfast was great, coffee was good, great price. Service was great. Definitely an older building, but not moldy or dirty as mentioned in other reviews. I would definitely eat here again, especially if I was traveling through.

We stopped in for breakfast, and it was amazing. Excellent food and great service.

I was pleasantly surprised by my experience here! We came very early in the season and we're the only people here but the staff was incredibly kind and the food was SUPERB! I would definitely recommend stopping by if you are in the Glencoe area

We enjoyed a freshly cooked breakfast. Delighted that it wasn't a buffet style breakfast as quality wasn't compromised. Hopefully be able to return and stay again with the lovely views. A beautiful part of Scotland.

We had a burger with chips and a vegetable pasta. The burger and the chips were ok, not better than McDonald's or Burger King but ok. There was also some onion chutney that I liked a lot. The vegetable pasta was just bad. We were not expecting a super delicious pasta but this was really really bad quality! I'm not a cook but with pasta and some vegetables i will make you something delicious and not charge you 16£.

Was visiting from New Zealand and excited to try Scottish steak. The special sounded good . Confit tomato.. ribeye steak.. mushrooms.. fries. The steak was almost all sinew and fat. Tomato scored on bottom and 1min in oven as the mushroom. No one asked how was our meal..so I mentioned it but no response from the kitchen

Don’t leave reviews often. But standard of food was exceptionally poor . The “fresh “ fish I would place money on that it came straight out a birds eye box Out of 3 tables at time of eaten we complained about standard and another couple sent there food back Avoid

Don’t waste your time. It’s closed, permanently from the look of the place. Despite what the website says, closes and dilapidated with it.

Let’s just say I’ve never taken the time to write a review on any restaurant I’ve been to before. I normally go home and I’m very happy with my experience and that’s the end of it. We managed to get a table here very easily while most other places were fully booked. To our surprise we were the only people in the restaurant. The food was shocking, I mean shocking. The starter we had was chicken nuggets from a supermarket with a few sprigs on lettuce with nothing else to offer. Both our mains; the wagyu burger (was birds eye not wagyu) and a lasagne which was reheated and overcooked/tasteless.I felt so passionately about how bad this place was that the first thing I needed to do after we ran out the door was to write a review so nobody would ever go there again. AVOID PLEASE

5 of us visited for an evening meal on 1st September 2021. We hadn't booked in advance. We all really enjoyed our meals. The staff were both friendly and efficient. Will come back again.

Food was lovely and reasonably priced. Cute interior and the friendly service. Had veggie lasagna which was huge and very tasty, then shared the cranican cheesecake which was amazing!

We arrived without reservation and we got a table so this is a star, also the service was quick, that is the other star, the place was clean and that is the third star. Now the food wasn't very good. A lot of room to improve there.

Visited twice in our three day break. Loved it. Food really good, recommend the Wagu beef burger. The waitress Barbara is so helpful and funny.

We went to the Sea Salt café for dinner one evening - really loved the sound of the food on the menu. Unfortunately, in spite of affable service and excellent views, the meal was probably one of the worst we've had in a while from any restaurant - we both had the salmon which was extremely dry, overcooked, bland and chewy, whilst the potatoes were bland and watery - unseasoned and overcooked also. The decor, meanwhile, is confused - they're going for posh dining with napkins and wine glasses on the table, but the music choice of bad rock covers, combined with cheap photos stuck to the wall with pieces of paper as labels really undersell the fantastic location and building. A real shame but a huge disappointment for us - we really wanted to like it but we can see now why it was so deserted when every other restaurant around was fully booked! To be avoided, sadly...

Went as a family. Parents and 3 children (11-12). We all had a lovely evening. Beautiful dining room with great views, nice lighting and good music at just the right volume. Attentive but not intrusive waiting. Food- starters, mains, puddings - all excellent. Good portions. Lovely side salads and finishing to all the meals. Compared to other restaurants we’ve experienced in Scotland on this trip, for a similar price, it felt like particularly good value too.

Recommended by our guesthouse owner after arriving late in the area. Three of us had an enjoyable meal in pleasant surroundings. Main meal was very good though the sauce on the chicken Balmoral and on the Haggis bon bons starter was too little and lacked flavour. Otherwise, everything else was excellent and very well presented.

On arrival I was asked to write my name and address in a public book, with a communal pen, no other checking in process. The restaurant looks very tired and I’m surprised it’s still trading. The food here was dreadful. We had three different mains. The fish (fish n’ chips) was very obviously cooked from frozen and was a hard crispy texture, the peas were hard and the chips looked like they’d been cooked in dirty oil. The pasta was ok’ish but there was smoked salmon lumped on the side of the plate, which didn’t look too appetising, with lashings of sweaty Parmesan shavings, the one slice of garlic bread on the plate was clearly reheated. The burger was described as Wagyu, let’s just say I can’t ‘prove’ it wasn’t. We ate what we could quickly, paid and left. It wasn’t cheap. Would not recommend this place, avoid!

Wir hatten in der Nähe unsere Unterkunft für 3 Nächte. Durch Zufall sind wir auf das Sea Salt gestossen. Wir wurden sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend bedient. Auf unsere Nachfrage, ob die Speisen Gluten- und Laktosefrei zubereitet werden könnten, hat die Restaurantchefin Rücksprache mit dem Küchenchef gehalten. Vorab bekamen wir eine leckere Gemüsesuppe, danach wurde der saftigste Lachs mit den genialsten Pommes serviert. Die sehr aufmerksame Restaurantchefin hat uns sogar einen Nachtisch gezaubert. Wir haben uns am kommenden Abend wieder auf dieses Restaurant gefreut. Es wurde ein Gemüsecurry mit Tomatensosse und Reis für uns zubereitet, welches sehr köstlich war. Auch an unseren letzen Abend haben wir nach 21 Uhr nochmals ein überaus leckeres Gericht erhalten. Mir ist auf all meinen Reisen in den letzten 30 Jahren keine so umsichtige, herzliche und aufmerksame Person wie diese Frau begegnet. Herzlichen Dank für diese liebevolle Verkostung.

Great place , staff and food are very good

Mediocre menu with mediocre food. Service was awful , waiter didn’t smile once seemed like we were a burden to him. And only one choice of ice cream .. vanilla

Very poor quality meal in slightly tatty decor. While staff, who spoke reasonably fluent English, were friendly and efficient, the food was pretty much entirely from a freezer bag, insufficiently warmed up and a bit sparse in quantity. The plates, cutlery and table ware were mismatched both across our own table and also between tables. The decor is a bit shabby without the ‘chic’ and the room temperature was a bit chilly. This sort of thing used to be the norm in many parts of Scotland in the 1970’s (yes I’m old enough to remember that) but nowadays we have come to expect a higher standard and so we’re very disappointed in yesterday’s experience. Whoever is running this place needs to take note and pull up their socks!!

The restaurant was very cozy and offered a nice selection of steaks, pastas seafood. I made a meal on two appetizers. Great service.

Old lodge with simple but good restaurant!

Wir wohnten in der Nähe und gingen zu Fuß, waren sehr überrascht über die Auswahl der Speisen. Wir hatten Prawns und dann Fisch und es war ausgezeichnet. Beim Wein wurden wir gut beraten! Es gibt keine große Auswahl, aber es dürfte alles frisch zubereitet werden.

The singular worst meal we have had in years and not cheap, can only imagine that the chef phoned in sick and the dishwasher had to take over. As a treat for a 60th birthday this was a massive let down but later we were able to laugh about it as it was that bad. I can't believe the proprietors have posted a photo of their Caprese salad- two cherry tomatoes sliced in half and placed on top of four slices of mozarella- no oil. My main course was chicken stuffed with haggis and some form of cream sauce (which I poured on to save the dry overcooked chicken) with a tomato stuffed with couscous, the tomato was cheap, uncooked and the couscous was like grit- horrible. My wife had the fish of the day- two little bits of rolled up sea bream- again overcooked. We broke the habit of a lifetime-no coffee after dinner so we could leave quickly. The service was very courteous although more than once the two waiters asked us the same questions within seconds of each other. At the end of the meal the waiter gave us a card asking us to submit a Tripadvisor review- astonishing! Glad that other reviewers had better luck

Within the Lodge on the Loch both the breakfast and evening meals were good, only a small choice though for the evening menu. Service was good.

Un arrêt au hasard sur la route et un bon hasard! La vue de l'établissement est magnifique, le serveur charmant et la pause lunch que nous avons faite très appréciable.la cusine que l'on a goûté est bonne, la soupe maison et les sandwichs pour un prix tout à fait raisonnable. Rien à redire!

Just got back from a lovely lunch at this place. We went for a light lunch with some friends who also live in Ballachulish. We had a lovely loch view whilst we ate our sandwiches and chips.The menu wasn't extensive, but fairly priced and beautifully presented. Delicious chips and onion rings!

My husband and I had a wonderful dinner here for my birthday and what a treat it was too. We had a lovely table by the window which has wonderful views over the loch. The staff were very welcoming and attentive throughout our meal and the food itself was utterly delicious. We left feeling very satisfied and full to the brim! We highly recommend this restaurant and would definitely eat here again.

From the outside this place looks nice, but inside the decor is shabby and worn. Still, since we were only stopping for coffee, we decided to try it. Unfortunately, it ended up being a black spot on our otherwise lovely vacation in Scotland. We ordered 3 double lattes and a hot chocolate. These took a long time, tasted like they came out of a cheap vending machine, and when the server presented our bill, it was £24, at least £10 more than it should have been! The server said she had to double the price of our drinks because we ordered double shots of espresso. She never did explain why the hot chocolate was also charged double. We mentioned that most reputable cafes only charge 50 pence for an extra shot, but she would not change the bill and said there wasn’t a manager or anyone else available to ask. Stay away!

Hidden in an unassuming hotel, this wonderful restaurant provides an excellent dining experience. The service was attentive, and the food was very well prepared and delicious. I had the ‘catch of the day’, which was broiled sea bass, accompanied by a side of rice in a red pepper shell and a small salad. My husband and I then shared a dessert of tiramisu which was also very good. I’d suggest you go out of your way, if needs be, to try this place

Nous parlons assez mal l'anglais mais la personne a fait beaucoup d'efforts pour nous comprendre et nous decrire le poisson frais du jour... les plats étaient très bons et copieux nous avions une table en face de l'Atlantique c'était très agréable un accueil vraiment sympathique.

The restaurant isn't very expensive however the portions are very small and we left hungry. The place is very old and hasn't been refurbished for at least 80 years. There is mold in the toilet and wallpapers are falling off. The service wasn't great. I wouldn't come back here.

Bien qu'arrivés à 21h nous avons été accueillis très agréablement. La cuisine était très goûteuse et surtout une très bonne maitrise des cuissons!la soupe simple et bonne. Les coquilles saint Jacques sur un lit de légumes méditerranéens croquants à souhait. Spare ribbs délicieux, jusqu'aux pdt.A recommander surtout dans un environnement touristique tel que celui ci où certaine concurrence n'hésite pas à avoir des pratiques sans scrupule.

Called in for dinner early evening and offered window table with great view over the loch. Ordered chicken haggis and the staff very kindly offered a variation on the acompanients. To our disappointment the chicken was so dry it was hard to cut through. A replacement meal supplied but chicken still dry with chef advising cooked to optimum internal temperature. This may be so but for a classic scottish dish not a good example of how it should be presented. Staff apologetic and not charged for this meal which is credit to their service.

Stopped off on our drive- late lunch, early dinner. Only ones there but it didn’t matter, food was lovely. Great setting overlooking the loch. Recommend

The café offers a typical bar menu with affordable prices and an excellent restaurant service in addition.

We just left here after having a fantastic lunch. We arrived at the perfect time as tour buses were just leaving. It looks like they are doing some renovations but did not affect us at all. Service was friendly. Started with the cream of vegetable soup and it was very good. All 4 of us ordered the sea bass special. This was an excellent choice for lunch, light and beautifully done. The food was spot on and a nice change. We were so impressed with the lunch that we tried the dessert. Two of us had sticky toffee pudding and one had tiramisu. These were to die for, so good. Left satisfied and happy with our choice. Definitely recommend stopping in.

Great views from the restaurant. Good selection and ok food, just nothing out of the ordinary and reasonably pricy with drinks. Waitress was knowledgable, friendly and very efficient!

We stopped here on our first night in the area and were warmly greeted by friendly staff. We were sat on a table right next to the bay window at the front with wonderful views. The staff were very helpful and oh my goodness, the food was amazing. Really reasonable prices for all the food and drinks. Absolutely worth a visit here!!!

Staying nearby we thought we would try the restaurant for an early evening meal about 6 o clock. We were very politely received and were shown to a window table overlooking the Loch. My wife is seafood allergic but there were several dishes for her to choose from so she settled for the chicken breast whilst I had the sticky pork ribs. They came surprisingly quickly but but were both excellent and the waiter brought me some wipes. Cheesecake and tiramisu were our dessert choices to round off an excellent meal. The waiter was especially courteous and we finished our drinks afterwards outside In the sunshine. If the tres were cut back to afford a clear view of the Loch, it would be perfect. We were in early but there were quite a few other tables occupied.

A limited selection of vegetarian options for the evening meal (1 vegan). However the service is lovely, and efficient and my taglitelle fungi and salad delicious. Reasonably priced pretty busy from about 7. I had A lovely quiet meal before the rush with a view of the loch.

This was the only restaurant open within walking distance of our accommodations and we are glad we went. The soup was delicious. The pasta diavolo was very good. I had the fish special and it was good. The service was excellent and attentive. A good meal, nicely plated and presented.

Wir hatten als Vorspeise Prawns und als Hauptspeise Seamonk und Pasta Arrabiata, was alles sehr gut schmeckte. Als Wein wählten wir den Valdemoro Merlot. Wie schon im Titel erwähnt war die Bedienung schnell und sehr freundlich. Insgesamt waren wir absolut zufrieden und können das Restaurant empfehlen.

We ate here twice during our stay at the lodge down the road as there was no restaurant there. I found the food to be good on both occasions and reasonably priced given the location. The choices on the menu are a bit limited, but there is something to suit most tastes. We would recommend this place and would eat here again if we are back in this lovely location

Personeel was heel vriendelijk, snelle bediening, en prima eten.De zeebaars was met de groenten een lekkere combinatie. Aanrader is de cheesecake als toetje, welke maakt niet uit, beiden zijn heerlijk.

We had a great evening dining in this restaurant. The food was to die for.. starters and main course. The staff was super nice. Well spent money :)

We both had a vegetarian dinner. However, for total price of 24 £ it was a much too high price and by far not complete. Maybe nice for a side order for 25% of the price. We do not recommand this!

We stayed at the lodge which is beautifully located on the loch with fabulous views. The diner was excellent Shrimp starter was so good we took a second serving for the table. Delicious lamb shank. Perfectly cooked salmon, soft and tasty. Very good steak Nice bottle of Spanish wine. Very recommended The cooked breakfast was very good as well. This is the lodge restaurant so especially convenient for guests. The place is a little run down but obviously being renovated Rooms are clean and our bathroom was new. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Really a perfect place for a stop over on the way up north.

Nos quedamos en el restaurante a cenar y nos gustaron mucho los platos: pasta al dente, bistecs al punto y tarta de queso deliciosaaaaa.Luego de un wisky a dormir . Las habitaciones son muy amplias, a nosotros nos dieron la 7 (una triple) con camas confortables. Luminosa, limpia y cómoda.El personal muy amable y atento.

L'avantage de cet emplacement est que nous avons pu manger sans réservation alors que nous étions arrivés un peu à l'arrache dans la région. la nourriture est bonne, sans grande originalité

Nous avons testé le restaurant car nous logions à l'hôtel.C'est une très belle surprise car tous les plats étaient délicieux.La soupe (du jour je crois) était excellent. Les poissons étaient savoureux (bar et saumon) de même que leur accompagnement.Le dessert (panacotta) était bon mais sans plus.Le service est quant à lui excellent.

Nous avons bien apprécié notre diner au Sea Salt restaurant. Le service était très professionnel et sympathique, le cadre agréable. Nous avons goûter au jarret d'agneau qui était très bon ainsi que l'accompagnement (purée et légumes). Les desserts étaient un peu moins à notre goût mais globalement cela a été une bonne expérience.

hotel staff are really nice the hotel is run down the food is rubbish they state they have an award-winning chef, food is really bad we ordered the fish and chips at £10.95 it was full of bones and came with frozen french fries at breakfast they are using the cheapest of bread for and Tesco saver sweeteners etc
