The grounds around the property are charming and the ambience in the hotel/restaurant is very British. The food was simply fantastic. There is nothing to complain about! See my separate review of the hotel. Dinner is extremely reasonably price for the quality of the food and its preparation. The scallops, cod and venison were among the best we've eaten in Scotland, or elsewhere. The breakfast menu was extensive, including full range of Scottish breakfast.

Nous avons été très agréablement surpris par l’excellence de ces dîners et breakfasts que le service d’Harriet a rendus mémorables. Une mention spéciale donc pour le Chef et Harriet ! Despite this being a popular location they still seemed to be accepting a few people who turned up on the evening which was a testament to how efficiently they seemed to be coping with the covid restrictions. Food was fine, mine was a fish and chips. Nothing particularly special about it but generous and tasty enough.

The quality of the food was excellent on both night we ate in the hotel. The staff were very attentive and helpful and service was very prompt. Staff were happy to explain the menu and we found all the good very tasty and well cooked. We had a birthday and the staff were more than happy to bring a cake we had bought to the table.

Interesting menu selections, with at least 3 menus varying daily. Superb cooking and delightful presentation.

Stopped for a cup of tea and biscuit and received a very warm welcome. Beautiful views of the garden from our library armchairs. Well worth a stop even if we couldn’t afford a night in the hotel!

Stunning venue and location. Food is excellent and staff very friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to get us a table for 6 at short notice after we were let down and also prepared a dish not on the menu for one of our party. Cruising the Caledonian Canal for a week we ate there 3 times which shows how much we loved it.

Booked via email.Arrived at the hotel to find an actual castle and really welcoming and friendly staff.We both ate a three course menu of delicious locally sourced food. It could be a little overwhelming and intimidating but the staff are very friendly and made it splendid.

Das Essen ist gut. Die Portionen sind klein und kommen modern daher. Es gibt täglich wechselnde Karte. Man wählt ein 2 oder 3 Gang Menue aus jeweils 3-4 Vorschlägen. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und aufgestellt. Mich persönlich störte es, dass sie in einer Reihe aufgereiht an der Wand standen und immer wenn jemand ein Gang beendet hat sofort am Tisch waren um abzuräumen. Bei diesem ständigen beobachten war mir unwohl.

The food is tasty, unpretentious and in just the right portions, the staff are friendly and efficient, the view from the window is charming, and the only music is the sound of happy people talking. Exactly what I like.

None of the meals I tried appealed. The most horrible quirk of the chef is to add ham generously to almost all. A place of traditional worst British cuisine.

It is such a shame that this beautiful hotel with an elegant dinning room has such mediocre food. All four of our crab meat Ravolo starters were too salty and the brown sauce was not particularly a good match. My pigeon was over cooked and so tough it was inedible. My wife’s salmon was way too dry probably due to too high heat cooking. We all thought the desserts were very good. My wife and I tried the new nettle with ice cream dessert and it was a real winner. Service was good. Fixed price menus only - 2 course for £26 and 3 course for £35. Two stars for food, four stars for setting and service.

My wife and son and I had both dinner and breakfast at this restaurant and it was a very memorable experience. The food was quite good, and for dinner I had the lamb and my wife and son had the haddock and both meals were cooked to perfection. The staff was also very knowledgeable about the dishes and extremely customer friendly. We would certainly come back here again on our next visit to Scotland.

We had an informal, private lunch in the library on arrival, dinner and breakfast. All our meals were fresh and healthy. The selections are varied, the service is excellent and the ambiance is unforgettable!

Dinner at The Glengarry Castle Hotel was a real delight. The Chef sources as much of the food locally and very skilfully produces terrific dishes well worthy of formal recognition. The dining room was full - traditional style with table cloths neatly set tables and good staff. We have been here several times now and are always very happy.

Had 2 dinners at hotel restaurant - both were excellent and had locally sourced meat and fish as well as a vegetarian option. Good value for the quality of the food and the house wine did not break the bank!

Here we got the best afternoon tea service in Scotland. The cakes and tea - there were magnificently tasty, and all atmosphere in stylish hall was classic. Really felt yourself in "old good time". Lovely cooked and elegantly served table, and very friendly staff support a flow of positive emotions. All excellent service was presented by very reasonable price.

We stayed at the Castle so the restaurant was perfect in terms of convenience as the Castle is off the beaten path. The food was very good and there were nice choices for folks with different tastes. The bread served with the evening meal is homemade and really good. The servers were very nice. The breakfast was a good UK hotel breakfast. All in all a very good experience.

Whatever you choose, you will be happy ! Dishes are prepared in a very professional way and all what we have tasted was excellent. They have a very exhaustive wine list with appropriate prices (considering where you are) Staff is professional and nice

We stayed here for two evenings and enjoyed the secluded location. Both breakfasts were delicious which included with our stay. We had dinner both evenings. Excellent service and very friend staff. Enjoyed walking the grounds after dinner one night to the lake and the next to the Glengarry Castle ruins.

We were staying in Invergarry and decided we’d try the Glengarry Castle Hotel for dinner one night. We were welcomed on arrival and shown to our table in the beautiful dining room giving out to lovely views over the grounds and to Loch Oich. The menu is based around two courses for £26 or three courses for £34 and we ended up having the latter. We found the food to be excellent both in taste and presentation, and the Cullen skink for starter may have been the best ever tasted. Coffee and mints can be taken afterwards in the comfortable lounge.

Our group of eight with diverse tastes and dietary requirements dined here for both breakfast and dinner. Everyone was able to find something delicious to meet their needs/tastes and we all thoroughly enjoyed both meals. The service provided by the young man who was the son of one of the ladies at the front desk, was wonderful. He was friendly, prompt and attentive and made us feel quite at home. Wonderful Scottish hospitality all the way around, and surprisingly wonderful Scottish food! Before our trip we were told by many that Scotland was not known for good food....were they wrong! And by the way, the dining room itself is quite lovely as well!

We were staying at the hotel last month and dined here for dinner and breakfast. Our dinners were superb (though a small menu). Service was first rate with drinks in the library to begin with, good for a special occasion. Breakfast was delicious as well! Highly recommend!

We stayed at this castle hotel for one night with our adult children. We had dinner and breakfast in the dining room overlooking the gardens and the food was excellent.

We enjoyed a really fine meal as a family in a classic setting this evening. Top notch,and good for children who are comfortable in quiet dining setting.

It doesn't get any better than this. Dinner was formal but you didn't feel uncomfortable. Everyone was so nice. Some people even wore blue jeans. Breakfast was very Scottish and perfect.

If you are staying at the hotel don't miss dining here (I believe it is limited to hotel guests, but not 100% sure).The dining room in this old manor house is beautiful with window views down to the Loch. The food and service were excellent.

Die Lounch und die Bibliothek haben einen herrlichen Blick auf die Umgebung und das Wasser.Tell und Scoones wie in alten Zeiten. Nur Bier gibt für auswärtige Gäste um diese Zeit noch nicht.Um halt 7 kamen wir dann zu Abendessen. Man gab uns die Wein und Menue Karte und bat uns in einem der Zimmer Platz zu nehmen.Es gab pro Gang ca. 5 Menues zu Auswahl. Einfach aber richtig Schottisch.Die Weinkarte war hervorragend und wir bestellen eine halbe Flasche Chablis.Um 7 dann der Gong.......Und ab ging in den Dining room.Der Service war gut. Und das Essen einfach zubereitet aber sehr gut.Wir haben jede Minute genossen. Die Portionen sind eher klein.Beim 2 Besuch bestellt unser Teenagersohn einen 2 Hauptgang. Gar kein Problem und auch vom Preis her sehr human.Zum Schlumi gings dann nochmals zurück in die Bibliothek.1 Woche später waren wir wieder da und genossen nochmals einen Afternoon Tea und ein Dinner. Wiederum hervorragend

Our food and wine was all very good! The dining room is very pretty! We loved eating dinner there! It is family friendly. The wait staff were all very good. We enjoyed our coffee, dessert and after dinner drinks in the beautiful library over looking the gardens and loch.

Die Karte liest sich zwar wie bei gehobener Küche, die Gerichte sind handwerklich aber eher einfach gehalten. Hat trotzdem geschmeckt. Etwas schade war der schiefe Schnitt des Filet Steaks - der Garungsgrad schwankte so von medium well bis rare. Sehr freundlicher und zuvorkommender Service.

What a lovely place to have an afternoon tea break on the road to Skye. Beautiful rooms, views over the gardens to the water, friendly staff and service. Formal atmosphere and service. We had fabulous shortbread and tea and great coffee. All at a most reasonable price. While you are there, stop and explore the ruins of the castle.

We moored here to see the castle on our first night afloat on the Caledonian Canal, we bokked a table and decided on the two coarses for £25.00 each, All the coarses were fantastic and the food was of the highest quality, had a nice bottle of wine as well with the meal. The Hotel decor was lovely and in keeping with this stunning country house. We would definatly visit agaIn for dinner.

I stay here on a DB&B basis each year and the menu is varied and typically Scottish serving wonderful seasonal food. I have never had any complaint with any meal and I must have had over 100 dinners here over the years. Truly super.

The restaurant is very nice in appearance and has great country views from all the windows, suggest that you book a window table when making a reservation.We had a fixed price four course dinner with a good choice of dishes. My wife was very disappointed with her starter of mackerel , which was very bland and tasteless , however my salad of mozzarella and butternut squash was outstanding. We both chose the Guinea Fowl with a selection of wonderful vegetables as our main course and we agreed that it was wonderful. The service was a good level and overall our dining experience was very enjoyable.

We moored the boat here and booked in for dinner and I am so glad we did! We were greeted warmly and seated in the lounge with drinks to enjoy the fire and loom at the menu. Excellent fixed price 4 course menu and I had the best monkfish I have ever had! Then coffee and chocolates back in the lounge- perfect!! We will definitely be back.

We where staying in a property in invergarry, so went on our last night for a meal ,it was the most amazing property the drive alone along the road with the various trees and flowers ,very well maintained . Next to the loch with lovely views. The meal was exceptional , nothing was to much for the staff . Tradition is that there is a bell ringer to make you aware it's time to go into the dining room . Such a lovely place will return in the future for a stay . Have always driven past on our way up to our cottages but never stopped before , will certainly go again ,speaking to the owner he was so helpful and knowledgable.

This is a review of restaurant. It is set in a 19th c. building overlooking the loch with numerous paths around the estate including one to the castle in ruins. We arrived by boat and walked up to the hotel. We were warmly welcomed and given a wonderful seating in a bay window overlooking the carefully groomed grounds. We had a nice cup of tea and some baked goods....all were excellent. If you stop here, be sure to visit the restrooms.....they are worth a mention due to size and elegance.

This is not a review of the hotel but the restaurant. The 19th c. building sits overlooking the river with paths around the estate. Lunch in the sitting room was fine. The staff was gracious. In an area where restaurants are few and far between, this is a find.

Fabulous 4 course set meal, paid a surcharge for the fillet steak, absolutely amazing, beautiful cut of meat.As with the hotel, very well presented staff, excellent quality food and would definitely visit again.

My wife and I loved this castle-hotel. We stayed here in July. Strangely this hotel was/is rated between 3-4 stars but I give it 5 (experience is subjective :)). Anyhow here's my notes...Pros:1. Location...it's located by the lake with the beautiful mountain backdrop. It's like a picture on a canvas. 2. Service...we were late when we got here. They were done serving dinner but they accommodated a late dinner request. Food was exquisite!3. Room...the one we were put in was probably the best room (Room 23). It has the view of the lake and the mountain. Very roomy. Bathroom has been redone. We loved this room, so ask for it.4. Room service (maid, and laundry)...they were on top of it. Laundry prices were really low, relative to what we paid in Edinburgh.Cons:None!

The Glengarry Castle Hotel in Invergarry is a charming hotel that houses a wonderful restaurant. The room is old and quaint, but the service was wonderful and the food excellent. Our meal was four courses - starter, soup or sorbet, entree, and dessert. Coffee and sweets can be taken after dinner in the living room, a charming option. My starter was a salmon parcel which was warm and slightly smoked salmon enveloping a scrambled egg with chives. It was superb and followed by an equally delicious cream of mushroom soup. I had the rack of lamb which was slightly overcooked but delicious in flavor and accompanied by an excellent sauce and a well prepared bowl of fresh vegetables and potatoes. Dessert was blackcurrant and cream ice cream. Choices tend to be five in number for each course except for the second course where there was one soup and one sorbet. At 35 Scottish pounds for the four course meal, this is an excellent price and a lovely stop for the Highland traveller.

Cosy restaurant at Glengarry Castle Hotel. It is not modern and appears a bit dated but is comfortable enough with adequate seating. Some good views from the dining room of the garden outside.Serving staff are young but very attentive. We had dinner there which was well presented, well cooked and maintained its flavours.Overall a good dining experience but slightly expensive

The restaurant was at the same high standard as the hotel, and served excellent food, for instance the rack of lamb.

The food is amazing in this restaurant. There are so many good things to choose from you are spoilt.I could have eaten all the desserts on the menu. If of course I wasn't so full from my meal. The ambience is good and the staff attentive. 10 out of ten from me.

Booked here for our evening meal as we were moored at well of the seven heads, we've been before and the place hasn't changed, and that's a good thing. Beautiful old building with fantastic gardens looking out over the loch.Now the food, a treat, not cheap but a excellent menu and 5 courses to go at, if you're a trencherman you'll appreciate the food here, plus the excellent service.
