What a great meal - Thank you Liz!! It was just so Yummy. The service from Peter was just fantastic. The 4 of us just had a fantastic night. Such a great atmosphere. Good old fashion country hospitality. Thank you all again for a great night.
Had a lovely family meal, would highly recommend, Lovely fresh salad and very friendly service, Will be our first choice next time when going out as a family
We have visited this Hotel a number of times when in the area & visiting the Highlands, and it never disappoints. The vista is incredible, on the banks of Loch Shiel overlooking the beauty of Glenfinnan Viaduct & surrounding area.
The history exudes through every stone of this beautiful, historic hotel & from the hotel grounds, to its interior, the decor is complementary, beautiful & very charming.
Visiting out of season, the hotel is nicely quiet, with friendly & attentive staff, offering excellent service. On this occasion we only visited for drinks, & a bowl of handcut, thick chips, but knowing from previous visits, food is good.
In season the dinning & seating areas can get busy, so it is good to book ahead.

Only ad a chip buttie. Awful chips. Didn't taste nice at all, and no butter on mi bread cake.
Asked for salt n vinegar and got none. I was only stopping in the village for work and if Im ever here again I will not be going to this chip oyl.
we came here quite hungry for lunch and we really enjoyed it. we got the veggie breakfast as well as the soup combo and everything was very tasty and was very fresh. definitely recommended.
Afternoon tea
Cannot fault the quality of the food or the wonderful room, BUT the experience was spoilt for us when charged over £3 for fresh tea. Tea is served in pots that go cold very quickly, and to be charged for more is just miserly. Other establishments cheerfully keep fresh tea coming. I know which I'd go back to......
Also, beware the service charge which is not mentioned on the menu, another negative.

Actually a nice place, especially when the weather allows for outdoor seating.
Unfortunately, there were a few things during our visit that led to our conclusion being only average:
The menu is clear. It doesn't really need more than that, but when quite a few items from this clear menu are no longer available more than an hour before closing time, something is wrong with the planning. On top of that, a very (!) limited selection of cakes at the peak of coffee time...
The service staff were very nice, but rather slow. If half the tables can't be used because dishes are used and not cleared, then I would recommend re-examining the internal procedures.
Pochi kilometri dopo l'attracco del traghetto , ci si imbatte in questa struttura condivisa con un piccolo negozio di alimentari . Ottima scelta di zuppe e insalate ( quelle di pesce molto buone ) . Ambiente famigliare e molto cordiale . Veramente consigliato
What a warm welcome from Andi when we arrived, after a long day travelling and it was 9pm.This hotel lodge is an absolute must when in the area it just makes you feel comfortable from you walk in the door,we had a drink at the bar before we went to our room which was absolutely perfect, I had booked a twin without realising and Andi quickly changed it to a double the service is fantastic.
Breakfast was lovely and yes Andi in every place we've stayed so far your haggis is the best lol.
While checking out we met Andi's mum who told me about Stanley the deer and his brother and theyre hats such a lovely woman and met Mia the dog who was the light guard lol and an absolute beauty I can not praise this hotel enough such a nice family business great location good breakfast good rooms we really did enjoy our stay and that was only 1 night unfortunately .
A good, clean honest family run business in Tain. Heather your hostess is great. Bed comfortable, linen clean and fresh, rooms basic but very clean, shower excellent.
Food well cooked and a good selection. Breakfast very good to excellent. Value for money 100%!
Walls a bit thin, so much so I disturbed my neighbour Becky with my snoring. Sorry Becky! Hope I didn't upset you too much.
All the sandwiches and the steak pie were excellent. All breads are made fresh daily and the sweets are delicious. Limited seating but we did eat lunch inside.
Great experience overall. The service was great. The food was great. The manager and staff went all out to make sure my elderly mother was assisted into the restaurant and made comfortable. I will recommend to everyone i know.
Love the ice cream but todays service was just bizarre. There was a mix up with my order, then I was given a cone right ice cream wrong type of cone, I asked for the correct cone and watched the server scrape the ice cream from one cone to the correct one then I was passed the correct cone with half a scoop of ice cream. I highlighted this and was told by the owner “well is just give you a refund” now I am not sure if you have kids but the whole reason of our visit was to reward my two for a fantastic parents and a half scoop would have been a bit of an insult. I requested a different flavour which took another 5 minutes, when the owner hand it over he was obviously not pleased. He gave me a look as if to say you got what you want now go away. I asked if I didn’t justify an apology and was told no as he had already offered me a refund. As stated a refund was no use.
I thought this level of service was long since finished, The arrogant proprietor who thinks if people’s aren’t happy then don’t come back.
Maybe get some empathy, it goes a long way.
