we came here quite hungry for lunch and we really enjoyed it. we got the veggie breakfast as well as the soup combo and everything was very tasty and was very fresh. definitely recommended.

Normally I would rate this cafe with a 5 however I have twice been in here and left feeling severely dehydrated.

The lads who run this operation cant do enough to make it a wonderful experience. The food is excellent and even our dog gave it 5 stars for their attention to her, offering fresh water and a choice of dog snacks. It really was the best part of our highlands holiday..thank you so much. Warning: portions are huge, so come hungry! Lovely fresh food and so tasty. It is set in a hardware store [Jans) which also is amazing, and full of stuff you need to buy…..

Sicuramente da evitare. Fuori mano rispetto al paese di Portree, situato alla fine di un supermercato dal quale si accede. Abbiamo anche dovuto fare la fila per poterci sedere; è necessario ordinare al banco e alle tre del pomeriggio alcune pietanze erano già finite. Posto veramente triste dove mangiare… anche l’attesa per le pietanze è stata lunga! E le pietanze stesse, veramente quanto di peggio potessi mangiare, in uno dei locali più squallidi mai frequentati!!! Costretti a questa infame scelta dalla tarda ora in cui siamo arrivati all’isola di Skye. Anche l’isola, contrabbandata come la più bella della Scozia, si è rivelata un mezzo bluff!!!

and I've tried them all, believe me. The coffee is rich and tasty but not bitter. Not too oily and no grit at all (dregs). Seriously 100%. Also the staff are friendly and well trained. Good management here, even as regards the parking policy! I love it. I'm only sorry I forgot to bring cash for a tip but will remember next time.

Went to get some breakfast and sandwiches to take away for our day out. Breakfast roll was delicious. But I recommend eating there on property as it’s messy. Sandwiches were good but not very big and not really great for picnic type food. But tasty. Service friendly.

Our group of 3 had 3 great breakfasts, 2 full breakfasts and 1 pancakes with bacon and maple syrup. All were very substantial meals and set us up so we did not have to eat again until 7.00pm. The fcb included black pudding and all were succulent and well cooked. We had fresh orange juice from a local provider and finished with lattes and Americanos. The price very reasonable, but the service was a bit slow. There was a notice stating that they had to close on some days due to lack of staff and this may well have contributed to this. The building is in a light industrial estate and the price is much less than in the more popular areas. Worth well a visit, you won’t be disappointed.

Das Café liegt am Rande von Portree im hinteren Teil eines Baumarkts im Industriegebiet. Meiner Meinung nach handelt es sich um ein verstecktes Juwel, da man hier extrem freundlichen Service, eine tolle Auswahl an Frühstücksoptionen, eine gute Auswahl an veganen Speisen und faire Preise findet. Außer uns waren nur Einheimische dort. Das vegane Frühstück schmeckte super, der Kaffee war auch sehr gut. Gerne hätten wir hier auch Mittag gegessen, mussten dann aber leider schon wieder los.

We had breakfast in this little restaurant with an atypical look and we really liked it ! The welcome is also one of the strong points of this place, I recommend ! Note that the restaurant is located at the back of a DIY store, you have to enter the store and continue. Thanks to you for this good moment !

Situated at the back of a hardware store on a little commercial estate, what a little gem. Fab menu- plenty of choice, breakfast served all day if you want it, daily specials, lovely coffee and nice staff. On our first visit we both had breakfast buns which were very tasty, second visit today and we sampled panini and bagels- yum!! It does get busy and you may have to wait 5 mins or so for a seat but this is because this cafe is clearly popular with locals and tourists alike - definitely worth looking up its location and the wait for a table - 100% recommended

We had yet another fabulous visit to the Red Brick. Although local, we haven't been for a while, but it was as excellent as ever - the food was great, freshly cooked and delicious - and the staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. The tables were all cleaned quickly and thoroughly as soon as the diners had left, ensuring that the next lot of customers were not waiting any longer than absolutely necessary to settle in and enjoy their time at the cafe. Hope it won't be too long before our next visit

Met a friend for lunch while visiting the island. Pricing wise, everything was very fair, the quality and portion sizes were excellent and the coffee was great. The food range is good as well and there are gluten free and veggie options. The service was excellent and it was clear the locals use it regularly. It's a quirky place being located at the back of a hardware store but it's well worth a lunch visit so happily recommend it to anyone.

I was amongst a party of 2 Adults and 3 children. Food was nice enough but a few things let us down. Glasses were dirty and we had to ask to change them. The tap water was foggy. I ordered tomato mozzarella salad which was meant to come with pesto and light garlic bread but was literally just babygem lettuce, salad tomatoes and mozzarella. No dressing and no bread. First of all, as mentioned before, this is slightly outside of town in a commercial area. Actually inside Jan's hardware store so if atmosphere is your driver, probably not your place. However, if great food with great service matters...this is your place! Can accommodate a crowd as well. Highly recommend as a place to have breakfast before starting a day of out door activities on Skye!!!! Has the ability to get you in and get you out....with great food!!!

I found The Red Brick Cafe via trip advisor. Having been faced with a poor selection of food on the uig ferry from lochmaddy. The reviews are exactly correct from the minute you walk in to the cafe. The gentleman serving at the till point was superb very engaging and enthusiastic about the food on offer. I had a toastie and my wife a panini both were served with a very nice fresh salad consisting of mixed leaves, grapes, peppers, cucumber, cherry tomatoes and a nice coleslaw. The sandwiches themselves were excellent with very nice fillings. A change from the usual drab offers you tend to find in more remote parts of Scotland. I’d even suggest you get into contract talks with calmac about providing their sandwiches as what’s currently on offer comes under the drab banner. The ambiance of the cafe is also very nice. Well done on a great stop off point on route to/from the islands.

I hadn't had the chance to visit The Red Brick Café for a while, but it was up to its usual high standards with excellent food, well-presented, with friendly and efficient staff. I could not fault it. The portions were good and the food tasted extremely fresh. Will definitely be back soon

Yes, perfect, and I don't use the word lightly. Far and away the best cooked breakfast I've ever had. Not at all greasy, generous portion (I had The Works at £6.95), and the charming lady who served me was more than happy to let me have an extra egg in place of black pudding and toast. Said eggs were the crowning glory, done to... perfection!

Based on Tripadvisor ratings my wife and I stopped in here on our way into Portree, and almost did not find it. We were quite late so there was not much baking left, but the hot food we had was pretty good.

Great wee cafe with a good range of homemade cakes and savouries. Quite difficult to find though - just look for the sign for Jansvans when you are leaving the village in the direction of Uig. Well worth the effort. There is anything from a full meal to snacks to just a cup of excellent coffee or tea. Friendly, welcoming staff and plenty of parking available, and all the food is (quickly) made to order.

The Red Brick Café is in the same industrial building as the Hardware Store so as we needed some items from the store we decided to have breakfast in the Café as well. First of all the Cafe is well kept, clean and airy and does a good selection of Breakfasts and Lunches between 08:30 and 16:00 hrs. It has a fine selection of old bicycles on display as roof decor and has free wi-fi and recharging docks. We had eaten breakfasts here on several occasions in the past and had been happy enough with everything but this time it was a severe disappointment. From ordering to table service it took 45 minutes ! The coffees came promptly and sad to say were drunk long before the meals arrived. Ourselves and other customers asked what the delay was and were told a high take away demand was putting pressure on back of house. The Café has around 40 covers and was not full when we were there, nor was there a big queue at the service counter so we were sceptical of the excuse offered. When the food eventually came it was not to the same decent standards we'd experienced before. We think we will give it a break before we consider another visit.

Had one lunch and two afternoon coffees at this establishment over a period of one week. Not easy to find as it is inside the Jans department store. However excellent food/drinks and friendly staff, clearly well used by locals which is always a good sign.

My son, Hector, decided to treat me to lunch today at The Red Brick Café. I've not been there in a while so it was nice to see a well-known face there, Aileen!!! Now, please believe me, I did try to have a quiet lunch. But something happens when I go to local places to eat. I have fun. Aileen was so welcoming. The food was beautiful. But the special service Hector & I received was worth the visit. Thanks for making me laugh, Aileen. I remember now why we get on so well. We have fun. Aufgrund der sehr guten Bewertungen in Tripadvisor haben wir dieses Café für ein Frühstück aufgesucht. Es befindet sich im hinteren Teil eines Baumarktes. Wir hatten ein vegetarisches Frühstück und kein kleines schottisches Frühstück mit Cappucino. Das Essen kam schnell und es hat uns sehr gut geschmeckt und wir fanden den Service sehr freundlich. Das Ambiente ist für ein Baumarkt-Café sehr sehr hübsch und auch im Detail mit Liebe gestaltet.

My wife and I live on Skye and visit this excellent cafe virtually every weekend for lunch. They do excellent meals, toasties, soup, filled rolls (hot and cold) and a nice selection of scones and cake to go with your tea or coffee. The staff are all very friendly and helpful and the prices are very good. Easily a 10 out of 10.

I have now visited the Red Brick Café on quite a few occasions and have never been disappointed at the quality of the food, be it just a snack or lunch with friends. It is always our first choice for lunch and have had many a good leisurely blether there with friends.

Had lunch here during our visit to Skye and followed this up with morning coffee. Decor is really charming with a display of vintage cycles. Food is excellent and great value for money. Service could not have been better and our young Polish waitress, whose husband was the chef, gave us superb service. The duty manageress whom we had encountered at The Aros Centre in previous years gave us a great welcome and entered into the general banter enthusiastically. This is one of the friendliest restaurants we have encountered on the island and it is quite a pity that it is hidden away in an industrial estate. It was well patronised by locals who obviously view it as a real gem. Will certainly be back when we return in the autumn. Full marks everybody for making our experience so pleasurable.

Possibly not the nicest looking cafe but the coffee makes up for it. Lovely Lavazza coffee and delicious scones and cakes. Lots of bikes hanging from the ceiling too. Friendly staff and a very busy cafe.

The home bakes are gorgeous and it has WIFI! The staff are really friendly and look at the menu for history on the hanging bikes!

I am a solo traveler and would highly recommend this location for anyone who needs to work on their computer and enjoy a delicious meal and some coffee in Portree. The WiFi is fast, food is good, and customer service here is unmatched anywhere else in Portree. A girl named Charlotte walked me through the best way to set up my things to work, showed me where the outlets were, and checked on my table throughout the day.
