What a great meal - Thank you Liz!! It was just so Yummy. The service from Peter was just fantastic. The 4 of us just had a fantastic night. Such a great atmosphere. Good old fashion country hospitality. Thank you all again for a great night.

I have now had dinner here twice and both times the food has been excellent. The staff give you a great welcome and are very attentive. The menu is good and the food tastes delicious. Always piping hot. Has a nice bar as well as the restaurant. I have always eaten in the bar and it was busy one night and not so much the second time so I would book if you want to make sure you can get a table. I would recommend if you are staying in the area. By far the best food I have had in this area.

This is a very well appointed, friendly restaurant that we have visited many times in the past and it was good to be back. We are vegetarian so appreciate the veggie sausage casserole on the menu and this time had a very large fresh salad that was lovely. The owners are very friendly and welcoming. We look forward to returning.

After a long day hiking with friends and a miserably wet dog, this place was an excellent last minute find! Absolutely outstanding service. Simple food cooked really well! Can't recommend enough!!

We like this restaurant very much and we glad to be back ater months away. The vegetarian casserole is absolutely delicious and we were so happy to find it still on the menu. Service is so friendly, welcoming and good and overall McInnes is a lovely restaurant.

We booked for dinner last minute, and were so glad we did. It is a quaint little restaurant with a bar located on the main red in Kingussie. Our meal was delicious (homemade beef pie and salmon) and the gentlemen serving us were great as well.

We had booked ahead of time and were promptly seated by the front window, which had a lovely view over the front garden. Upon looking at the menu, I voiced my concern about a food allergy to peppers and paprika. Within a few minutes, the chef came out and asked if he could make a chicken recipe using certain ingredients that would not contain either of my allergens? So, in reality, he created a special meal just to accommodate my allergy issue. Certainly a rare occurrence in my dining experience. I highly recommend eating here as you can be guaranteed that your meal will be freshly made. !

A great spontaneous lunch. Great roast dinner and big portion sizes. Very dog friendly. A shout out to Liz and Chris for our beautiful lunch and for some scraps for the huskies- will definitely be back. Super friendly team and nice atmosphere. Great value for money.

Very disappointed with the restaurant! After reading all their good reviews, I was looking forward to a good meal out. We booked for 2 people on a Friday night at 8pm. Turns out we were the last diners to arrive. Staff looked miserable and service was poor. No atmosphere in the restaurant either (no music). By 8.45pm they started hoovering the restaurant so we decided it was time to leave as it was just us left. For the high prices they charge, hardly feels worth the money!

Always visit the last Sunday in August and it's always perfect! Delicious food and great portions. Friendly owners and staff, we never miss this treat!

Good food, good beers, nice location. Recommendable. I had the vegetarian curry, and it was better than a similar dish at the Indian restaurant in Kingussie.

It was so good to eat at this restaurant once again. I have written good reviews in the past and once again we had an excellent experience. Service is very welcoming and friendly and the atmosphere very pleasant. We are vegetarian and love the veggie sausage casserole. The veggie burger is good too. Looking forward to next time!

Excellent food and this is the reason for my high rate! The place is nice and clean, although a touch too gray-wish. A bit more color will improve it for sure. The personnel lacks a bit of experience, but I guess, that's to the fact they are very young, so expending this factor to increase over time.

Hotel based restaurant with a nice dining room and very professional friendly owners/staff. Menu is a little limited but well priced.

What a Beautiful hotel, so relaxing, fresh and modern decor. A gem in the small town of Kingussie and definitely the best as far as food goes. We sampled others in the area and the standard was poor. We stopped by for drinks and were that impressed we returned the day after for a meal. Staff could not be more attentive, food was delicious and they had a well stocked bar with great selection. We stayed elsewhere which was bad decision, this place is stunning. Would return in a heartbeat 💓 for a stay.

We went for Sunday lunch and what a great lunch it was the roast beef was tender and tasty and the vegetables were delicious and a great variety even mashed sprouts the roast potatoes were crunchy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside ,perfect . Then the rhubarb pudding which we hardly had room for but couldn’t resist was sublime. We would thoroughly recommend Mcinnes restaurant Kingussie

Insgesamt ein netter Restaurantbesuch. Wir waren ein wenig verwundert, da das Personal an dem Abend ein wenig verwirrt/überfordert wirkte. Sie waren alle nett, aber die Kommunikation kam uns manchmal schwierig vor und wir wussten nicht, ob es an einem Akzent der Kellner lag oder ob diese irgendwie benommen waren. Jedenfalls hat das Essen gut geschmeckt und war definitiv ausreichend. Das Lokal ist ein wenig kitschig eingerichtet, aber wir hatten einen schönen Abend.

We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel, the food was absolutely amazing and staff so friendly. It was a fantastic dining experience. Book in advance as non residents can book meals and on both nights the dinner sittings were fully booked. Many locals were dining when we stayed which showed how highly valued the hotel is within the local community.

Had a very nice lunch here outside in the well kept sunny garden with great service from Nigel. We enjoyed chicken Caesar salad, fish and chips and delicious pancakes with strawberries. Always a favourite stop in Kingussie.

Had dinner one night while in Kingussie.McInnes since last visit has been renovated inside to the highest standard, absolutely beautiful. We were only there for dinner so I cannot comment on the bedrooms but its stunning.The food was sublime and plenty of it. Drinks are very reasonable.The hosts charming as ever and the staff are very polite enjoying a chat as they did their work.Amazing, next visit will deffo be at the Mcinnes.

There was nothing pretentious about the food. The fare was pretty simple, but beautifully cooked. The service was both friendly and efficient.. We very much liked the ambience of the front dining room - which was light and spacious. The wine list was shortish, but offered a good choice. Prices of both food and drink were very reasonable.

Stayed here to finish our couple of days away. We booked dinner in the restaurant and had steaks which were excellent and perfectly cooked. Robert the chef personally came out to check that our food was ok which you don't normally see. This was a nice touch and added to the overall experience. We cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. We will definitely be back to stay in the hotel and eat in the restaurant.

Returning again for the 3rd time to McInnes Restaurant, and stayed in the hotel. Great food (the steak pie is amazing) a great menu to choose from, excellent service and really lovely people. We will absolutely be back again soon!

I came here for lunch yesterday (after the Ghillies Bistro up the road wasn't doing food despite having "Lunch and Snacks Served All Day" on their front window!). The place was empty. We were the only customers around 15:00 ETA. There was a Track & Trace system in place, I think, but we weren't asked to fill it in. We were given a nice seat by the window.We ordered two Lentil soups which took about 40 minutes to arrive. Not good when you just want a quick snack. The soup was very tasty, to be fair. The portion size was fairly small. It came with two slices of plain white bread and some butter. I also had a latte which was nice.The waiter was really a nice young lad, but he could probably do with a wee bit of help/training from the management to give him more experience e.g. he didn't seem sure about whether soup was available on the menu, and we had to ask twice if our soup was nearly ready as we were waiting a long time. The bill came to £14.75 which is far too expensive for two soups and a latte. A bit of shame because the Evening Menu looks really nice, so we would have been keen to come back for a proper three course dinner, but the long wait and high price for two soups (£5.95) would put us off. We also mysteriously had several Espresso coffees added to our bill when I went to pay. Obviously this was a mistake so it was taken off and we were not charged for this.Overall, we would guess this place is nice for an evening meal, but our visit for a light bite did not impress due to the length of time waiting and the price.

After many weeks of Covid restrictions we yet again enjoyed dinner at this lovely, privately run hotel. The restaurant is very tastefully decorated and has a roaring fire to warm you on cold winter nights. The food is consistently excellent whether you are a meat eater or a vegetarian. Peter and Robert are great hosts and always provide a warm and cheery welcome.

I came here for dinner with my son and my 2 friends who we were visiting. We were immediately made to feel very welcome. I am gluten free and there were a lot of choices available on the menu and I was also advised they could tweak other dishes for me if I fancied something else. My 3 year old was well looked after and left a happy wee boy,this restaurant is very family friendly. Robert who served us was fantastic, nothing was too much trouble. All our food was delicious and we had a great night. I will definitely return on our next visit .

Have eaten here quite a few times, always happy to go back. They have a good staple menu, fish & chips, burgers, pizzas etc done well. Service has always been good and the restaurant is nicely turned out.

Visited for lunch on 26/09 and what a lovely time we had. The hotel itself is gorgeous and the lunch was delicious, we would definitely be back. We both kept commenting on how lovely the place was.

Friendly and welcoming, with brilliant food and decent portions (not sacrificing quality). We ate in the bar as we had our dog with us, and it was perfect for what we wanted. Great service and not pushy or overbearing at all, and good steak!

Had another great meal here again tonight. This is our go to restaurant if we are up north COVID safe lovely decor fantastic friendly staff and great food what more could you ask for

Every time I and my family visit Mcinnes Hotel and Restaurant we are extremely happy! We love the food and the level of service is inspiring! The owners are very welcoming and the staff are just as invested as the owners.They are all very knowledgable of local amenities which is fab if you need a recommendation.10/10 would highly recommend! The food is lush and the rooms are absolutely stunning. Can’t wait for our next visit to the area!

We phoned to book an evening meal on spec although there were tables available when we arrived. The food was tasty and there was a fair selection of wines on the menu. They take Covid precautions very seriously, almost to the point of being stand-offish with signage. We left with the distinct feeling that the evening hadn’t been as relaxed as it could have been!

Much improvement since new owners have taken over. Dining room & bar area look lovely. Covid precautions good. Dining room slightly lacking in atmosphere and slightly spoilt initially by family with screaming child tho’ not restaurant’s fault. Good choice on menu but not so good for person with onion-related allergy. Told we should have informed in advance. Fair enough but chef could still have offered some alternatives or given bigger portions of non-allergenic accompaniments to make up as other places have kindly done. We’d still go back because they are really trying to improve it so much.

Visited here for dinner yesterday. Great Covid Measures put in place & lovely friendly staff. I ordered Chicken with peppercorn sauce & my hubby ordered Balmoral Chicken. Both were very tasty but I couldn't even finish mine as I was stuffed. I then had vanilla icecream with chocolate sauce & my hubby had sponge with a strawberry sauce & custard. I couldn't finish mine again because I was so stuffed!! The gentleman who served us called Robert was so lovely, friendly, funny & was chatting to all the people dining & kept checking everyone was okay & had a constant smile. He was a breath of fresh air and had great Customer Service! A huge asset to the restaurant. Thank you Robert for making our evening!

We did not stay here and had booked ahead in view of the fact that, because of COVID, many other places were closed. The food was excellent but the service was a little inattentive.

We stayed in Kingussie on a family trip and this restaurant was recommended to us. Good choice of food and drink available for adults and children. Reasonably priced. Enjoyed it so much we returned two nights later.

Very avarage food for a restaurant that charges over £90 for a dinner for two. We like quality food and we wouldn’t go back to McInnes. Poor choice of wines: there were only four red wines on the wine list and they run out of two of them!

All the food was delicious - we all had a different starter and then steaks, seabass and halloumi burger. Everything was cooked well and presented nicely. Service was friendly too. Very good Covid measures in place too. Would definitely recommend this restaurant for a good evening meal.

Received a friendly welcome from mine host and he explained everything that was needed to keep everyone safe. Room was very clean, only one downside was there had been a problem with the shower and there was a light odour but this did not effect the enjoyment of our stay. We had a meal in the Restaurant at night, lots of choice on the Menu at a reasonable price. We will definately be staying again

Its just a casual pub with pub food, nothing amazing but its not trying to be amazing. Friendly staff.

Called in on off chance of a table and were lucky to get one. Staff so friendly and welcoming. We had steak and the pork followed by a lovely lemon and orange steamed pudding. The food was delicious and the chef and staff took time to check we were happy and had all we wanted. Really fab place, great service. Well worth a visit.

We enjoyed two meals at McInnes and found the staff very attentive. Good range of menu choices and very convenient when staying at Kingussie. I am gluten free and the staff were able to ensure the meal options were safe. Do book ahead in these times!

We came here as a family of 6 for a meal both food and staff were amazing. I have never been to a restaurant where all the staff are most welcoming. Food was great served fast and well presented keep up the good work and hopefully we can return.

We very much enjoyed our starters of bruschetta, mozzarella sticks, our mains of chicken balmoral / haddock & chips and dessert of cookie & chocolate salted caramel. A bit chilly and dark in the restaurant but nice fast service and great portion sizes and helpful, friendly staff

Ate evening meal here in pleasant surroundings, with pleasant staff and good local beer.Menu looked good but over-promised and under-delivered: our suspicions arose when food landed in front of us after barely 5 minutes. My steak pie was delicious, but accompanying steamed veg and potatoes were clearly not cooked to order, possibly even reheated from lunchtime - sad, limp and lukewarm - and let the dish down badly.Similarly, burger sounded good on paper and might have been tasty if it wasn’t so dried out - again it smacked of having been cooked earlier and reheated. The chips were fresh though.We were disappointed and with the hit and miss main courses we decided not to risk dessert. Staff were lovely and I hope this is a blip and/or down to the pressures of operating in a pandemic. As we left I saw a sign saying they are hiring staff so they are maybe stretched in the kitchen. A pity, but I wouldn’t go back on this showing.

Stopped off for lunch at the hotel with a friend after a walk over the hill from Newtonmore. This was our first experience of dining out post lockdown. The McInnes definitely sets a high standard for others to follow. Everything was incredibly clean, with hand sanitiser freely available. A one way system in and out to place orders was really clear and tables in the fabulous beer garden were very well spaced. Service was very friendly and efficient, with all staff wearing PPE. Food was brought out in individual closed boxes. Our two paninis were tasty, with a great side of chips. I highly recommend this place and will be back soon!

We had a very pleasant meal with our large group which the staff were nice and friendly. The food was served very quick (we had pre-ordered due to group size) and good value for money. If we are back in kingussie we will be back here without doubt.

Really great meal, 4 meats so many vegetables and you can go up again!! Really recommended. Service and restaurant are also excellent.

Cracking restaurant, and vert well laid out. Unfortunately didn’t have the steak, as sold out but went for the curry and it was splendid. Chips on the side were fab, in fact, best chips I’ve had in any eatery in years. Keep up the good work. Great for the family too, and excellent sized kids portions.

Delicious, hot meals served by a roaring fireplace. Lovely welcoming staff. Good selection of local drinks and local Scottish food. The steak pie and haggis chicken was delicious. Would highly recommend

Had an amazing 3 course lunch on Sunday and it was amazing. We didn't have space for 3 courses but we were not leaving without dessert.From start to finish the food was lovely. Cannot recommend the carvery enough, I had 2 kinds of meat and I'm glad I did. I will be back.

Thanks to the host for welcoming us despite the lateness of our stopping by. We were given good attention and well looked after. The food was enjoyable in a relaxed setting.

We had great service and good food. A variety of options we’re available including gluten free and vegeterian which was great! Only a small complaint would be of the temperature in the room. The door we believe was left open to air out the freshly washed carpets and it was a little frisky. But we are assuming this was unusual.

We came in for their Sunday Roast - you don’t want to miss it! food was great, and service was even better! One of the best places we’ve been to in Scotland.

As a family we have been holidaying in Aviemore for some 30 years and to our shame we have never eaten at this absolutely gem of a restaurant. The meals we enjoyed were all very well prepared and cooked to perfection, the staff were extremely friendly. The surrounding and real log fire added to the ambiance. We would definitely recommend a visit.

We were staying at a b&b; close by and was recommended to pay a visit. It was so good we ate there twice. The food is good hearty food. The steak pie was exceptionally good. We didn’t book and were able to get a table quite easily. However if we’d have been a bit later we probably wouldn’t have got a table. We ate around 6ish. The desserts were very good too. We also did the Sunday carvery which was very plentiful and a large choice of veggies and meat. Both times the waiters were very friendly and helpful. A good place to eat and highly recommended.

Very good pub grub and local good beer. The service was excellent, the lad on service was very polite and helpful. It has improved since it got taken over, the decor is very warming and welcoming. Recommended for food in kingussie.

My friend and I stopped in on a recommendation from our B&B.; We both had the Balmoral chicken, graciously served by Karen with additional friendly service from Natalie. The food was well cooked and warming. The restaurant is very clean.

We were recommended to come here by our B&B; owner , so glad we came , lovely decor ( I want to know stockist of the wall stickers in bar area )

Have enjoyed a fantastic buffet lunch, an amazing dinner and a delicious breakfast during our overnight stay celebrating our friends birthday. Bob, Peter and Liz pulled out all the stops to make this a most enjoyable stay. The food was varied, well presented, delicious and all dietary requirements met. We enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant too. We will be back!

The staff were very welcoming and the hotel was beautifully decorated. There was a lovely selection of food on the menu and a great selection of drinks including some local brews. I would highly.recommend The McInnes House Hotel and if I lived nearby i would definitely make it my local . Well worth a visit !!!!!

We just had a very good diner in Kingussies McInnes Restaurant. Service was great, the beer very good - I can especially recommend the Sheepshagger -a special thanks to Robert, you are the best :). We will certainly be back. Tanja and Marcel

Friendly staff, Lovely food pleasant surroundings. We had Siriloin steak and thai curry chicken. Staff are very helpful and the restaurant is very welcoming and has a cosy ambience. Free parking is also available Definitely worth to visit.
