We stopped here for lunch, they are dog friendly and cater for GF. We were able to have GF toasties which were cooked in a pan rather than in the usual toastie machine to prevent any cross contamination. Highly recommend!

This is a beautiful cafe in the local centre. There is delicious home cooked food available, all cooked on site by the chef. Beautiful views over the Sleat peninsula from the cafe. Also has the local shop next door. Well worth visiting, check opening data, I think it is Thursday to Sunday but may have mis remembered.

Nice cafe, reasonable menu choices. Excellent coffee. Bit pricey in my opinion but where isn't these days. Lovely building. Local shop next door excellent. Cafe Staff seemed anxious to move customers on and ask them to leave if they stayed for over an hour. Overheard a member of staff ask one customer if they intended to stay for lunch. Despite apparently confirming they did intend to stay for lunch, they were later asked to leave or sit outside to free up the table inside. The customer had a baby with her too which made it seem harsh. There wasn't even a shortage of free tables. Would probably return if they are happy to welcome customers not wanting a huge order!

We had lunch here on a beautiful sunny day. The cafe is light and airy inside but we opted to sit outside and enjoy the stunning views. We spotted this while driving back from Torabhaig distillery but would not have stopped here if not encouraged by a local. It seemed to be in the middle of nowhere though not far out of a settlement as we realised later. The food was good, the beer a bit stale (I think it's better known for its coffee & cake) and the views were quite lovely. There's a well-stocked mini-market next door and plenty of electric car recharge points.

Great wee community hub funded and run by the community with shop, cafe and function rooms. This is a contemporary build in a discreet rural setting can be missed from the road ... its setting with views across the countryside give a sense of isolatiion yet sits close to main road. Came across this by accident when driving from Armadale – we couldn’t find anything to our taste there. This café is very modern, has lovely stone walls and huge expanses of glass which give amazing views out over Skye. But the best thing was the food – I had chorizo quiche, hubby had fish and chips. Everything was cooked fresh, the salad was varied and crunchy fresh. Wish we could’ve tried the evening menu, but we were only on Skye for the day. Good choice of menu, big portions and delicious cakes. The Post Office/shop next door was very well stocked with quality brands and unusual products (chipotle and lime tortilla chips). Definitely worth coming to along the single track road.

Called in September on a really warm day and the place was busy. We realised that it was McMillan coffee morning and I think some Mums, babies & noisy children had stayed for lunch. We decided to let the place clear a bit and returned 1/2 hour later. Much better. We had home made cake & coffee. You order at the counter & the food is brought to your table. The room is bright & airy and has a wonderful outlook. As with many places in Scotland the building is multi-purpose and so expect that there may be other activities on at the same time. Still, worth a visit if you're passing. There is also a small shop attached if you require groceries etc.

Having been to An Crubh around half a dozen times now in the last 2 years, the only criticism I’d make is that if you’re just after a tea or coffee and some homebaking, it always seems to take much longer (sometimes 10-15 minutes) than you’d expect from ordering to getting your drinks and food. In the same time, other diners waiting on sandwiches or a meal (which look very tasty) are often served after much the same wait.

Living locally, An Crubh is one of our favourite places to go for a coffee, light lunch or afternoon cake. Very sociable - we almost always bump into someone we know (so many locals visit regularly) and it's very handy having a lovely food shop attached which also sells local art and crafts. Toen ik de boter op de scone wilde doen verkruimelde de scone in mijn hand. Na één hap heb ik hem laten staan. Zo droog, de calorieën niet waard. Erg jammer. "Fish and chips" was actually the freshest haddock in fine batter, saute potatoes, home made tartare sauce, crushed peas with a hint of chilli and a fresh leaf salad. The dessert, modestly advertised as mango parfait was a delightful construction of tangy mango salsa, parfait, white chocolate tears, shortbread and edible flowers. Both courses would have been a credit to a high-end restaurant. A relaxed informal atmosphere, really helpful and friendly staff and ...an incredibly good value bill made this a five star experience.

We made an unplanned pitstop to this fabulous community cafe & shop. The food was excellent especially the banana bread. It's well worth a visit if you're in the neighbourhood to support this great community initiative.

A great new community project in an idyllic location . A super coffee shop and a well stocked shop whose manager is trying hard to offer both tourists and locals what they want in this remote location..

Great food, lovely space and amazing views, this is a great place to get lunch (with wine if you like!), or grab a coffee and check emails in south Skye.

Tried the cafe at this very new community centre, and will certainly return. Welcoming staff in both cafe and shop. Lovely coffee and delicious homebakes. Menu for lunches looked most appetising.

We are residents of Skye and had heard that An Crubh had recently opened, complete with a cafe, so we decided to call in today. The building is very impressive and the staff polite and friendly but this unfortunately is where the good points end. We ordered two teas and were going to order two very well presented small cakes until a member of staff almost apologetically informed us that they were gluten-free and so were a little expensive at £3.50 each! The equivalent is available elsewhere on the island for less than £2. We then ordered alternatives, a small egg custard and what I took to be a cupcake judging by the size but was in fact a chocolate muffin. These were a staggering £2.50 each and could again be had for a lot cheaper elsewhere. The egg custard tasted reasonable but the 'muffin' was hard and dry with almost a complete absence of chocolate taste, not my idea of a muffin at all. The tea was loose leaf and left a very unpleasant aftertaste.

Absolutely fantastic venue! Great staff, food and location. A new place which is finding its feet but we were made to feel genuinely welcome which is not always the case with 3 children in tow! A quality venue to enjoy a coffee away from the sterotypical coach party cafes generally to be found in the area. Looking forward to a return visit.

Being newly established, the site is still in development, but the view is outstanding. The design of the building has made the most of it, with panoramic windows, and even places to sit out where you might be tempted never to leave!

This is a great place. Newly opened, An Crubh has a great cafe and grocery shop and fantastic views over the Sound Of Sleate and the mainland. As it's new, the cafe doesn't do full meals yet but it does great meat and cheese platters, soups and sandwiches. Their coffee and cakes are awesome. The shop and post office have a decent range of goods to keep you going and they have a cracking selection on Skye beers. Parking is easy and the toilets lovely and clean. Most importantly, the staff are really friendly - chatty and knowledgable about the local area. This is a must for anyone in need of a snack or coffee in the local area.

Won't be back the owner is so rude . If you pay for drinks in a pub hotel . You expect a thank you. Total anti children our three year old was chatting and we Heard the owners rude comment about him . Also we took her seat . The poor lass who runs hand and foot for this person is so friendly it's the only reason we stayed so long . Won't be back and won't recommend to any of our family and friends that visit the port . Maybe someone will take over the Caledonian and make it a hotel and pub again . We have been visiting the port for 40 years and haven't experienced the unfriendly signal we got from the castle hotel .

What a fantastic find on our recent visit to Inverness. Brilliant wee cafe with extremely friendly staff. Great menu and selection of fresh cakes. Lovely relaxed atmosphere and to top it all they are doggy friendly which meant we didn’t need to leave our 14yr old pooch in the car. Would definitely recommend a visit.
