I have eaten in many Michelin-starred restaurants over the years, and whilst there is no denying that the quality of the cooking at Cail Bruich was superb, the portion sizes of the 'mains’ were ridiculously small. And I mean TINY. The two very small slices of duck and one bite-sized piece of fish presented to us as 'mains' at lunch were hugely disappointing. Of course, I know that portion size is no barometer whatsoever as to the quality of a meal, but really? At £90 per person for lunch I am sure you could spend another £2 or £3 to at least serve half a duck breast!

We absolutely loved dining at Brett! Seated at the kitchen counter, we had a front-row view of the chefs in action, which made the evening even more special. The food was outstanding, and whilst having excellent wine options, they also offer great non-alcoholic choices! Greats service - warm and welcoming staff! Thank you!

I had a delicious meal and the bar staff were wonderful. I was by myself and didn't have a reservation but fortunately there was plenty of bar space so I made myself comfortable there. The fish off the specials was cooked perfectly and the mash and cabbage were delicious. Describing it in such a plain way really doesn't do it justice. I think there was cheese and/or garlic in the mash and the green cabbage had perfect seasoning. I had the lemon curd dessert, recommended by the bar tender, which was divine and complemented my cocktail (Captain Ron). Finished off with tea and home made perfect tablet. Nothing to complain about other than the meal has finished. Alas, haha! I hope I can visit next time I'm in Glasgow. A wee bit far from London, but who knows.

Lovely cakes and buns to try. It's best to go early as the tasty good stuff sells out quickly. Recommend the egg tart if you like the pastel de nata type of egg custard tarts. This being an Chinese bakery, so they serve authentic baked goods. Just don't expect them to speak fluent English. Use Google translate if you're stuck. There is no parking. You just have to park on the street and risk there is no traffic warden around.

Paper Cup is BACK on top form! The new menu is a banger, curried eggs dish is back and such a fantastic brunch dish, lots of solid options, was hard to decide what to go for, so I will be back to sample it all over the next few Glasgow visits. Coffee on point as always. I hadn’t been back for a few months as the last time I went all the breakfasts seemed a bit simplified. Found myself trekking over east to Mesa for interesting brunch.
