Tasty enough food but why present it as starters and mains when really it’s more tapas style? Not everyone is willing to share their plate. Some of the prices bit ridiculous for a « small plate ». £3.5 for one piece of flatbread? Wine list very dense and layered in a odd way, making it difficult to find the prices per glass/bottle. However nice interior and good service. But too expensive for veggie food.

Lovingly prepared delicious vegetarian small plates packed with flavour. We didn't have any wine but impressed by the extensive selection available. The service was friendly and efficient. Tasty Low alcohol beer available on draft which was a bonus. Very accommodating to specific dietary requirements.

We've been meaning to try Sylvan for many years due to its great reviews and because it has so many vegan options. It was packed on Friday night so we had a late table. Service was lacklustre from the start, probably because it was so busy. We hadn't anticipated the prices, it was eyewatering! When seated we took a look at the wine list, the cheapest bottle of red was £36 and they went up from there, we stuck to beer and water. We had to ask about how the menu worked (prices were main dish prices - £15 for broccoli - but turns out they are side dishes). We were recommend 6 dishes for 4 which turned out to be more than needed. The food was average, perhaps our expectations for a £12 bowl of green beans in tomato sauce were higher than they could deliver? Some dishes were unbearably spicy, it would have been good to mark this on the menu as 2 of our table are spice intolerant and we wouldn't have ordered these options if we'd known. Rice pudding is the vegan dessert option which is far too heavy after so much food. To finish off the coffee was the worst I've had in a long time. Came to £120 for 4 including a small tip (which wasnt really earned). We won't come back, much better vegan options in Glasgow at prices Glaswegians can afford.

Really loved having food here. Pleasure to get so much great veggie food and creative too. 3 of the dishes we wanted to try were unavailable by 8.15pm which was disappointing but the smoked tomato and yogurt dish was exceptionally good and the beans with tomatoes also. Loved the flatbread and padron peppers. Wasn't such a fan of the broccoli with pepper sauce, a bit overwhelming compared to the really well judged flavours of all the other food. Staff were lovely. Highly recommended.

This gem in the West End is a real joy for vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike, tired of the burger at the pub or fish and chips, here you can find a refined environment with attention to the smallest details. The menu offers interesting dishes all based on vegetables or cheeses, these are not banal dishes and I think that the menu changes depending on the season, this is also a factor of attention to the food and the customer. The staff is very attentive and the service was fast. Special mention for the wine list, they have lots of really interesting proposals. Not cheap but can definitely be worth it. I loved it!

Excellent variety of vegetarian small plates. We ordered 12 dishes for a party of 6 which ended up being too much, however each plate held its own and was enjoyable in its own way. The server, although friendly, messed our order up completely and we were only given half of the things we ordered, plus some random other things added in there. They apologised for the mistake and this did not affect our evening. The drinks selection was strong with relatively cheap beer and some creative cocktails (the amaretto sour was delicious!). Overall, it’s a good spot, especially for vegetarians, but expect to pay quite a lot.

Food was excellent, delicious flavours and well presented. Staff were friendly and helpful. Great atmosphere and setting with plenty of seating, catering to plenty of drop ins. Smoked tomatoes were a standout dish which mixes lightly smoked fresh tomatoes with a creamy yoghurt sauce. Had a broad selection of wines available. The food is very delicious and beautifully presented. I have coeliac: they have excellent provision for gluten-free diets. The small plates are not that small - they are generous portions and each dish is enough for two to share. The interior is spacious and cosy at the same time, with natural wood furnishings, comfy banquettes and seats, and contemporary glass light fixtures. We went at 9 pm and they told us the kitchen is closed.. the next day we called at 3:40 pm and we booked a table just to make sure we get a table, we told them we are coming in 15 minutes.. we arrived on time. And they said they serving drinks only as the kitchen is closed.. we called 15 min earlier and when we asked for the table they did not pass that information to us. I was disappointed and honestly unhappy with the attitude.. they shouldn’t assume everyone knows when kitchen open and close .. if you tell me you are open I assume the kitchen is open .. I understand kitchen closes an hour before the restaurant does .

Very nice experience at the place! The chicory salad with hazelnuts was unique and the vegan polenta came with lots of mushroom! After hearing lots of great reviews from friends on Instagram my girlfriend and I decided to give it a try . Overall we were fairly pleased although there were one or two dishes we did not enjoy. The decor in the restaurant was lovely with beautiful wooden elements and a bar . The staff were friendly although I would say they could have been more informative . The food was medium plates so we had five in total with three good and two not so good. The almond baba ganoush was very tasty and I would recommend it however we only found out after that it was non vegan which is not a problem for me but my partner has dairy issues so we should have been advised this as standard baba ganoush is usually vegan. The sweet and hot potatoes were excellent so I highly recommend them. The bean sprouts with chilli and pickle were also delightful with a beautiful texture and taste . The green beans with tomato was unfortunately not great as the spices caused an accrid aftertaste which is a shame. Finally we went for mushrooms and polenta which had a lovely balance of texture but were both very salty so we struggled to finish. Overall we enjoyed our experience here and would recommend but we will definitely ask more questions and do our research on what works.

It’s okay and that’s it. I don’t really recommend taking the fried goat cheese and the roast pears together since both of the 2 dishes are of heavy rich texture and you will be quite full in the end. I feel I almost cannot take anything more in the end of fried goat cheese, and I don’t really want to eat the pears at all. Finally, I finished half of the roast pears. Also, the dessert coconut rice pudding is a hot and creamy one, not giving me any refreshment but just strengthen the greasy feeling. It’s worth noting that their dessert white wine is great and gives me some fresh notes. They put everything together, making it not a clear starter/main dishes/dessert, in that way I’m feeling I’m in a rush to finish everything.. The price is reasonable and staffs are helpful, but I think I will try other combinations since this time I wasn’t quite impressed by it. Ordering took ages and then, in our opinion, the small plates were not considered in the order they came out at all. 8 plates came very quickly after each other with no time to appreciate a couple at a time. The hot ones came out first and the cold salad came out after. Could have been a really thoughtful and curated experience but wasn’t at all. The dishes were all so tasty but we felt we had to rush to eat the hot ones whilst they were still hot and then ended on the salad which wasn’t the best. The pear and Stilton dish was to die for! Currently my favourite restaurant in Glasgow having been several times now. The food, drinks and vibes are just perfect. I’m a veg forward omnivore so I adore restaurants like this that have veggie menus where everything is seasoned perfectly, has impeccable flavours and interesting combinations amongst some more classic flavour profiles done very well. You don’t even notice that meat is missing, and they don’t overly market themselves in this way which makes it a great place to appeal to all diets in your party. It is vegan and veggie made indulgent - the flavours speak for themselves. Price wise it’s definitely more on the bougie side and every time I go the prices sadly seem to increase but in my opinion it can be worth it and a real treat for a birthday or other special celebration. If it was a little cheaper I would be here much more often. My only tiny nag is that although the staff are lovely their timings can feel a bit rushed - in the past we have had to ask them to slow down and allow us to have a cocktail before ordering food. And on my last visit we did feel the staff hovering over us at the end of our meal to collect our plates/get us to pay at the end of our slot which can be a bit offputting, despite them ironically being hard to get the attention of earlier in the evening. But this isn’t a major issue as they may have just been trying to be attentive. Extra brownie points for gender neutral toilets!

I did have my reservations on going to this place as on the surface it looked like a trendy Veggie place serving expensive beetroots and carrots, with little substance. But gosh was I wrong. It was incredible. Food was lovely, tasty and the small plates (which Im generally not a fan of as they are usually expensive and very very small) were of a good size. The roast pears were delicious as was the butter beans. To be honest everything was great. Only gripes were that the drinks were quite expensive although there is an excellent choice of vines and beers. Also our waitress didn't write down our order (which is a personal hate of mine), but to be fair everything came as ordered, so I cant complain Great place to go, and I highly recommend it

We went for dinner on a Thursday night around 8pm and with no reservation. The restaurant was around 1/3 full and were happy to accommodate walk ins. service was warm and friendly, I like how they described wines as ‘funky’. When we asked what they recommended from the menu they were passionate and clearly picked out the top dishes. We were told to get the mixed salad for definite, it was great but I think our server liked it more! Stand out dishes for us was the poached pears and Stilton sauce on sourdough, and the baba ghanoush - so so creamy. If you’re a meat eater like me who has meat with most meals, this vegetarian restaurant will not disappoint. The meals are hearty and full of flavour. We are so glad we chose this restaurant.

Visited Sylvan for the first time this evening; really friendly staff and excellent food with a great wine list. Special mention to the considerate labelling of the gender neutral toilets, very LGBTQ+ friendly which we appreciated. Will visit again!

By far the best food I’ve had in Glasgow. Absolutely delicious. Food and drinks took a little while to come out but worth the wait - definitely worth getting a few dishes and sharing (4 for the 2 of us was perfect).

We'd heard about Sylvan and wanted to try it. Wow were we impressed! Amazing veggie food - we nearly swooned over the chopped salad with peanuts and basil, and the roast pears and stilton on fried bread, sort of like a fancy rarebit. We had great service and we loved the down-to-earth vibe of the place - no pretensions, just plain excellent in every way.

On our first of I hope many visits, we booked a very early table for dinner hoping that we would not be the first or only diners in an empty restaurant. How nicely surprised we were to enter a vibrant establishment with several tables already occupied. Our Server, Rowan is certainly worth mentioning by name as he was welcoming, knowledgeable, attentive, and very pleasant. The sharing plate menu was a tough one to make choices from as we wanted everything on it! As it was, we rather over ordered for just two of us, but every dish was delicious, tasty and plentiful. And we left with a box of enough leftovers for a delicious breakfast the following day!

Lovely little gem on Woodlands Road. I've been here twice now, both times the food has been dynamic and delicious. Plenty of vegan options for my partner. I understand if people find it a bit expensive, but I've never walked away with an unsatisfied feeling. Would 100% recommend.

Got loaded fries and two burgers for me and my girlfriend. Loaded fries absolutely 10/10 :) they mixed the cheese with the sauce I think? Incredible. Burgers are so tasty too but one complaint on those, the pancetta / bacon on the burgers was, extremely extremely "crispy" 🤔🤣 Other than that though burgers were still so good. Just removed the bacon lol. Loaded fries 10/10 superb Burgers 7.5/10 Would definitely recommend ordering from here, worth a try for sure :) great portions too and good value.

The food is excellent if you’ve not tried vegan you should I had the halloumi on crushed peas and also tried the minty butter beans on crushed peas really enjoyed both. The coffee is excellent but what makes the cafe is the brilliant staff
