Gōst in Glasgow City

Sunday roast, lovely roast beef but the roasties just ever so slightly under done and 3 is a bit tight. Cuts down on food waste I suppose. Starters were great - jamon croquettes. Desserts very average - think just a Brakes cheesecake. But overall, v good. Prob skip dessert next time and do the 2 courses.

We had a lovely meal in nice surroundings with very attentive service, nice cocktails & a pleasant merlot but; 1 or the starters ( scallops in a cheese sauce) was cold Both steaks were undercooked - more rare than medium/rare & a medium - I appreciate this can be a matter of opinion, but I expected better in a steak restaurant - several customers seem to send their steaks back Sauces, salad and onion rings were delicious A really nice, but not spectacular dinner for £245

Huge thank you and appreciation to all at Göst. Everyone at our family celebration enjoyed their meals. Porterhouse was delicious! Staff really friendly. Lively but not noisy atmosphere.

For such a lovely atmosphere and service, I was really disappointed with my steak. I went for the 250g rump steak, but the size was 100% not this weight stated on the menu on the plate. It looked like half a steak. I cook and cut my own steaks and frequent other steak restaurants and have never been served this laughing stock size for a steak at such a price. Sides etc were great apart from only 2 prawns in the side.

Was waiting from Xmas to go here . We went on valentines day . What a disappointment. Have wrote review on Trip Advisor . Definitely would not recommend.

A favourite of ours, just dropped in for drinks. They do a mean Rum Old Fashioned. great place to chill with friends, and when we do eat, it's amazing

Very nice meat restaurant. The Sunday roast is amazing. The meat is tender and juicy. The gravy is real gravy overall very good. They also have a very nice selection of wines. On te pricey side, still very good value for the money.

Gorgeous decor, nice ambience, good service on Hogmanay. T-bone steak overly salted, sinewy and chewy despite medium rare. Côte de boeuf more balanced, tender and juicy. Olives, Truffle butter and Garlic butter were tasty. Crunchy moreish chips! Overall, just satisfactory

The staff here are exceptional. All of them were so friendly & engaging, especially our server Amy. Beautiful, sophisticated but relaxed atmosphere, the tunes were great! Food was fantastic, my only criticism would be the watercress & parmesan salad side. Perhaps just personal preference, but I feel would be better with shaved Parmesan rather than the grated/powder, especially at £6.50. Will definitely be back!

We visited Gost a few days ago, and it was a great experience. The atmosphere was warm and the service very attentive and friendly. We asked for a halal menu, and we were surprised with the variety! The food was excellent. Great quality, great taste, well cooked and neatly plated. We'll sure come back again. Thank you for the experience!

Delighted with my experience at Gost restaurant! Introducing a friend to Scotland, I sought a quality halal steakhouse, and Gost exceeded expectations. The ambience was lovely, service warmly welcoming. The sirloin steak was a revelation—undeniably the best I've ever had, incredibly juicy. The mocktails were beautifully crafted. While it leaned towards the pricey side, the exceptional fine dining experience made it worthwhile for special occasions. A special shout-out to Ellie, Rueben, and the talented chef who made our evening memorable on Friday, 26th January.

Must be busy during the festive period, food was great just not hot. But the service was 10/10 as you appreciate the rush for big orders etc.

Updated review 23/11/2024: Again a great service showing from Gõst, but the food was lacking a lot from last time. They were unable to cater for my peanut allergy on everything on the menu except for 3 items, due to the ongoing UK mustard contamination. While this is understandable, I'd expect for the cost (which was about 30% more than the last time we went) that they could fry food away from contaminated mustard for a bit Our host/waiter was excellent, the steak was pretty good, I was really gutted to see the removal of haggis bon bons and brulé donut from the menu. Previous review: Gōst was an excellent date night tonight! Impromptu visit and went for alternatives rather than their famous steak, was incredibly impressed with the Haggis Bon Bons, Seafood Tagliatelle dish, Caesar salad and Whole experience was incredibly efficient, never felt rushed and never waited for anything. Euan in particular was great, clearly professional and passionate about his job but took the time to have some good banter with us and his recommendations were excellent! Deffo going back. Maybe even a tradition! Side note; the care afforded to my peanut allergy was efficient and painless while attentive and reassuring.

The service was amazing. Walked in without a booking and was greeted by a lovely server who sat us down straight away. The restaurant were serious about a couple of allergies and even got the manager to take the order just for extra precautions. We were offered the halal menu upon arrival and had no complaints about the food it was 10/10 . Stunning decor as well

Great food, good wine, excellent staff and nice atmosphere.

Sunday Roast (Beef) was absolutely delicious. Meat was lovely and pink in the middle and perfectly coloured radiating outward. The vegetables complimented the beef so very well and portion size was spot on. Heritage Tomatoes were fresh and served with a gently tangy sauce/ketchup. Lemon tart (with raspberrie), whilst a little difficult to cut/crack was warm and easy to eat when picked up with fingers (I am not proud!)... raspberry ice cream and dried raspberry pearls added to the enjoyment. Great value for money. All that said, I had perhaps expected more from the A la Carte menu.

They have got the balance right between attentive service and providing the privacy wanted. Timely delivery on meals, but no rush at any stage, despite the place being very busy.

Justo el equilibrio correcto de amable y súper, pero sutilmente atento, al punto que no tuvimos que preguntar. Los valores de la vieja escuela y las habilidades de conexión son raras en personas menores de 40 años, por lo que fue refrescante. Todo el personal con el que interactuamos fue cortado de la misma tela, pero este joven debería estar dirigiendo el lugar.

La comida era fantástica - llegamos para una escapada de fin de semana y este restaurante era alta en nuestra lista. No decepcionó. Sin embargo, una recomendación muy especial debe ir a Ewan. El mejor servicio de mesa que he tenido, NUNCA. La atención al detalle y el servicio fue excepcional. Bien hecho, y gracias, Ewan. ¡Vaya, este tipo es un guardián!

The food was fantastic - we arrived in for a weekend break and this restaurant was high on our list. It did not disappoint. However, a very special recommendation must go to Ewan. The best table service I have ever had, EVER. The attentiuon to detail and service was exceptional. Well done, and thank you, Ewan. Gost, this fella is a keeper!

Esta fue la mejor experiencia gastronómica que he tenido. Desde el momento en que entramos Denny nos hizo sentir como miembros de la realeza, y la comida estaba fuera de este mundo... He tomado algunos buenos filetes en mi tiempo, pero el Tomahawk que compartimos mi esposa y yo fue, con mucho, el mejor filete más suculento que jamás habíamos visto! No importa probarlo , y por supuesto que tuve que comer la enorme carne de la única como costilla de repuesto , solo que 10 veces más grande 😂 Si te gusta comer bien y te gusta el bistec, entonces solo tienes que ir a visitar este lugar. Denny y Ewan son los mejores en hacerte sentir especial también. Un must absoluto. No puedo esperar a nuestro próximo viaje a Glasgow para poder volver y probar algunos cócteles y comida más increíbles 👌👍🏼👌

came here for my birthday, had such a wonderful dinner. the food was exceptional and the staff were so friendly, attentive with fabulous recommendations. Andrew, who we spoke to throughout the night was a gentleman. Gost is an absolute must visit if you love steak!

Absolutely fantastic meal! We came in during the market menu times and decided on the two course option. I had the cauliflower soup and royal chicken, my husband had the steak frites and sticky toffee pudding.. I also had the highland old fashioned. Everything was perfect. The food was extremely well done, the service was incredible. I was beyond happy we came here.

I have been here 5-6 now, has become my favourite restaurant in Glasgow and probably the best! Food is beautiful and consistent, not once has the food disappointed. From the kitchen to the service, 5 star!!

This has to be one of the best restaurants in Glasgow. I have been here a good few times now. The food is absolutely amazing, the service is the best, the most attentive staff who look after you.

Steaks are amazing. Delicious, perfectly cooked and very tender, melt in the mouth. Gost is not cheap but you get what you pay for. The service was very good, attentive but not obtrusive. Definitely worth a visit.

Utterly splendid. The service is top notch,, attentive without being overbearing, and yet still friendly with decent banter. The food is absolutely incredible, the fillet was cooked to perfection, brilliant choice of sides, the whole experience was faultless. An amazing addition to the. Glasgow dining scene. The bar man thinks Tiramisu is a top tier dessert which is obviously wrong but that is our only complaint 🤣🤣 Had to revisit this - bevause its been such a long time since I left this review and I have to say - after my most recent visit standards have not slipped one iota. Andrew looked after us perfectly - food was absolutely top notch, drinks were superb, wine chilled to perfection (Something many others get SO wrong) - a flawless dining experience!

After a not so perfect first visit, the restaurant invited us back, and I must say, the second experience was outstanding! We were seated immediately, and the staff was incredibly attentive throughout the meal, constantly checking on us to ensure everything was perfect. The food was cooked to perfection, exactly as we ordered, and the entire experience was so much better than before. My husband and I truly appreciate how the restaurant went above and beyond to make things right. They even covered the cost of our meal, which was a generous gesture. A huge thank you to the team for their excellent service. I highly recommend giving this place a try—you won’t be disappointed!

Great steakhouse in Glasgow. The food was amazing and the service was even better. Ross and Andrew made the evening a blast and the chateaubriand was cooked perfectly. Make sure to try the beef butter and sourdough (thanks for the recommendation, Andrew)! Plus, Ross recommended a great wine to go with the beef. Overall, just quality!

Food was amazing, only think I wasn’t fond of was the Mac and cheese side - wasn’t very cheesy but the beef brisket spring rolls starter was delicious and the steak and fries were great! Fab service too and loved the ambiance. Also didn’t feel rushed at all which is always nice

Us 3 ladies attending for a later lunch on 14th September. The food was absolutely delicious and the service second to none it wasn't hugely busy but think that is due to location the decor was lovely. A hugely pleasant experience.

We had a lovely anniversary dinner here. The service provided by Amy was excellent and made the whole experience so much better. She was one of the best servers we’ve had at any restaurant. The food was excellent although my wife’s fillet was rather chewy. We raised this and the staff were very apologetic and gave us money off the bill which we were thankful for. We wouldn’t hesitate to come back as it was a great experience otherwise.

Visited here recently for an anniversary and it did not disappoint! The food was amazing, well seasoned and fresh! My steak was cooked to perfection. The cocktails were lovely, especially the basilisk and the spectre! The server Seb was lovely and made the night really special for us :) thank you Gost!

Cocktails were lovely. Service was exemplary. Food, however was very mixed. Haggis bonbons tasty, risotto bland, pasta claggy, swordfish undercooked in parts, schnitzel was dripping in oil and should have been finished in the oven or under the grill. Sorbet was delicious but sticky toffee pudding was dry and floury.

A really nice place, it has excellent dishes at honest prices. We ate tasty tagliatelle and delicious fish and chips. The service was quick and impeccable!

My husband and I went for our birthday dinner. The atmosphere was quiet and beautiful. Our server, Ewan, was the perfect balance of friendly and chatty and giving space to enjoy our meal. His recommendations were all perfect. The meal was hands down the best steak dinner I've ever had. 12/10

If you ever wondered where to go in Glasgow for a fantastic steak and with the decor and service to match, this is the place. Service is second to none and well worth paying extra for the Scottish Black Angus steaks. It is a wee bit pricey.

Set price menu but the usual add on for anything decent. Small portions - pate with 2 tiny bits of bread. Steak lovely but not even a bit of veg .. need to bulk up their portions before I’d go back

We’ve been there today, on Friday night, without a reservation and they welcomed us in. They have been all super kind and helpful, even adding a table for some friends that came in later. Food was great, all the waiters have been super kind and Amy, the waitress who mainly served us, has been so patient, helpful and really really nice with all of us! :)

A would like hipster chic micki restaurant! Way too expensive for what you get. The music is as loud as in a pub! The food is ok, the risotto is terrible! Why would you put something on the menu that you can't prepare?!?

Myself, my fiancé and my in laws were in town together for the British Open and came to Gōst for dinner one night- it was easily the best meal we had the entire time in Scotland. The steaks were amazing and the drinks were also excellent. In addition to the food being great, our server, Andrew, was the best waiter. He was funny, personable, talked golf with us and gave us several recommendations for things to do around Glasgow. If you are travelling to Glasgow, don't skip this restaurant

Polite and respectful treatment Their steak is halal, and I recommend that if you want soft and juicy, you get medium rare The taste is delicious The quantities are a little different, so everyone has to have an order. In my opinion, there is no point in sharing unless you are keen on eating 😁

The service was amazing and such friendly staff. Was a mix up with the prawn on the wrong steak so the steak with the prawns ended up being soaked in garlic butter which is unfortunate as he hates that. Both steaks were undercooked for medium where most of it was blue. Mac and cheese was not eaten as it was far too strong. The fries and dauphinoise were amazing as was the sauce. The pudding was a very dry doughnut 😵‍💫😵‍💫 they made such an effort for our occasion and all in all was a great time.
